I've been using Dynacare Labs. near my home for decades and they've always been TERRIFIC…read more Had to go to this (different) location today to hand in a routine medical specimen: 1. Was told that my doctor had not given me the correct paperwork. Had to call my doctor's office, only to find out that the paperwork I submitted was accurate (AFTER the lady on the desk checked with her colleagues). WTF. 2. I asked if I had to pay for the test. She said "no", then asked a colleague who said "yes". Okaaaaay. 3. I handed her my card, assumed she was swiping it (couldn't see beneath the counter top), she handed me back my card and said I needed to pay. WHAT. I thought I just did. No, that's done by someone else. 4. Constant, incessant interruptions by her colleagues left me waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally, I had enough and suggested she focus on completing my transaction to which I received a mouthful and to which I responded accordingly. They need to train their front-line staff AND they need an additional person on the front desk. All I wanted to do was hand in a specimen and it took waaaaaay longer than it should have with a lot of aggro. Go to another Dynacare if you can. This place is atypical of Dynacare's usual high standards.

2401 Yonge Street, Toronto…read more I avoid getting blood work done at all costs. I'm a fainter, and have "blood from a stone" veins. However - EVERY time I have gone to Dynacare and had my blood taken by Cristina, the Lab Technician, whatever magic or needle sorcery she does - it's painless and over in seconds. And she has consistently taken it quickly and painlessly over the couple years I have gone, is always calm and pleasant, and puts me at ease telling me stories or jokes. Thank you Cristina for making my worst nightmare actually MORE than tolerable now : ) Lisa P

This Dynacare location at Lawrence/Scarborough is terrible, recently I went there for a blood test…read moreand booked for the appointment online. I've never been to this location before and I thought all locations are standardized, and this one is closer. It's inside the Shoppers Drug Mart therefore not as big as other locations, since I'm not familiar with its setting, I hesitated a bit when I get there, but the front reception kept asking me to wait that it won't be long ... However, the nurse who took my blood test poked into my vein so painfully, that my arm got bruised even after a few days later. Don't know what went wrong, I thought Dynacare is a big company and their staff should be well-trained and proficient, very disappointed with the service provided

NOTE: The entrance to this lab is gained inside the Shoppers Drug Mart (at the rear of the store just left of the pharmacy department). I had the paperwork from my Doctor along with my health card ready for the person at the service counter. Some services are not covered by OHIP and you'll have to pay upfront out of pocket. There's seating for about 20 people. The TV monitor on the wall displays the wait times before you're seen by a lab technician. Staff were polite and efficient. I was in/out in 30 minutes.

This location is not my preferred one, but it had the soonest appointment available. Appointments…read moreare mandatory and booked online. Note that even if you have one, you may need to wait a bit longer. COVID precautions are in place, and each person is screened before entering. The waiting room has approximately seven seats, all spaced out. I was quite concerned when the technologist called me to the front, gave me a bottle of liquid to drink, and asked me to wait one hour. My Naturopathic Doctor requested the bloodwork, which is not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Care Plan), so I knew what tests were required. I told the technologist I was not aware of this, and she spoke with her colleague. There must have been a mix up, so I do suggest looking at the requisition before handing it over. My health card was not required, but the technologist asked for my birthdate (make sure you confirm this). The parking lot is normally crowded, but during the pandemic, it is easy to find a spot. The bus stop is also very conveniently located, just steps away from the front entrance.

Would strongly not recommend this location for any matters. And there was only another patient when I arrived. So no, don't think she was busy and that is not a legit reason for her to be extremely rude. When I was called in for blood work. I sat in the room for another 10 minutes or so. Then a lady with better manner came in and help me with it. The second lady is the only reason they got two star instead of one.

Going through the immigration process is long, long, and long!…read more ATCC doctors is a team of physicians approved by the Government of Canada (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) to pre-screen the health of applicants. The final step of the process is to go from the offices of ATCC Doctors at 4002 Sheppard Ave E to this lab located at 2330 Kennedy Rd across the street on the north west corner of the same intersection. Room 209 for LifeLabs was CLOSED at noon on New Years Eve so we're back today on 4-Jan-2021 only to find out that an appointment is required; next available time-slot is six hours from now. Ugh!!!! Back in six hours.... The wait and the blood & urine procedure for HIV along with Syphilis testing took 10 minutes. Fee: $34. Results were electronically transmitted to the ATTC case Physician. Overall, this part of the process was disjointed from the previous testing steps and should have been explained by ATTC Doctors. Yes, it's not totally the fault of LifeLabs. Staff at this lab are efficient, but notably rude; from the check-in person to the 2 other technicians. I would give LifeLabs 2 stars. They lose 1 star because they get daily referrals from ATTC Doctors and this lapse in a more streamlined customercentric process should not go unpublished.

Set up an appointment for 11:30 am (online) since I heard that after 11 in the morning is when the "rush" usually ends. Arrived at 11:20 am. WALKED OUT AT 11:25 AM. I kid you not - this must be the most efficient, smooth, and pleasant blood work I've ever done. Maybe LifeLabs is getting a lot better now with the appointment booking system?
