The staff are very friendly. Pauline has the exceptional customer service by explaining to each customer politely and nicely who are anxious and irritable while waiting for their time. Was told that my doctor had not given me the correct paperwork. Had to call my doctor's office, only to find out that the paperwork I submitted was accurate (AFTER the lady on the desk checked with her colleagues). WTF. 2. I asked if I had to pay for the test. She said "no", then asked a colleague who said "yes". Okaaaaay. 3. I handed her my card, assumed she was swiping it (couldn't see beneath the counter top), she handed me back my card and said I needed to pay. WHAT. I thought I just did. No, that's done by someone else. 4. Constant, incessant interruptions by her colleagues left me waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally, I had enough and suggested she focus on completing my transaction to which I received a mouthful and to which I responded accordingly. They need to train their front-line staff AND they need an additional person on the front desk. All I wanted to do was hand in a specimen and it took waaaaaay longer than it should have with a lot of aggro. Go to another Dynacare if you can. This place is atypical of Dynacare's usual high standards.

And she has consistently taken it quickly and painlessly over the couple years I have gone, is always calm and pleasant, and puts me at ease telling me stories or jokes. It's inside the Shoppers Drug Mart therefore not as big as other locations, since I'm not familiar with its setting, I hesitated a bit when I get there, but the front reception kept asking me to wait that it won't be long ... However, the nurse who took my blood test poked into my vein so painfully, that my arm got bruised even after a few days later. Don't know what went wrong, I thought Dynacare is a big company and their staff should be well-trained and proficient, very disappointed with the service provided

My Naturopathic Doctor requested the bloodwork, which is not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Care Plan), so I knew what tests were required. I told the technologist I was not aware of this, and she spoke with her colleague. There must have been a mix up, so I do suggest looking at the requisition before handing it over. My health card was not required, but the technologist asked for my birthdate (make sure you confirm this). The parking lot is normally crowded, but during the pandemic, it is easy to find a spot. The bus stop is also very conveniently located, just steps away from the front entrance.

Then a lady with better manner came in and help me with it. The second lady is the only reason they got two star instead of one.

First time the wait was annoying but a little more tolerable due to warm weather. Second visit, just like the first, I arrived 10 minutes early as instructed. After 25 min waiting outside I finally got in out of the cold and was able to sit down. I'm a left leg amputee and standing for long periods is harder for me than most. There are no chairs or anything to sit on outside their office. Most disappointing is that the staff couldn't have cared less. I'm not looking for 5 star concierge service at a blood lab but I would have thought someone would have been concerned about the issue I raised. I just got silence and a too bad so sad look. It's conveniently located but for me that's all it has going for it. And be prepared that they will be well behind in their schedule.

In the last few months (unfortunately) I've had to to several tests and can say I've got to know the staff more than the average Joe. They take care of you here, not the "in-your-face" kind of help you get from a salesperson at you clothing store. But they try to make the needle process as painless as possible. And this is what makes me happy here, they're not rushing. I've found out the best time to go is 4-5pm as most people try to go early in the morning as some tests require fasting.
