I stopped by to get a couple pairs of slacks on the way home from work. They had a sign on the door saying "OUR STAFF HAD TO STEP AWAY FOR A MOMENY" with a posted return time thirty minutes away. Unfortunately I've recently outgrown the sizes normally stocked at most stores. I tried the Big & Tall section at SouthCenter JCPenney but wasn't excited about the selections they had on offer. So I tried DXL Big & Tall down the street from the mall. I found a great--and great-fitting--pair of pants and shirt at moderate prices. Ramon Pacis was very helpful. If you've "grown" beyond a certain size as I have, DXL is a lifesaver. I only regret that I can't give more than 5 stars! read more

I had a great experience at DXL today. I knew what I needed, a new belt and a pair of jeans, and I was in and out of there in about twenty minutes. I love that they keep record of your past purchases: I had no idea what size pants I wear, but DXL did. Larry, the kind and professional attendant gave me great advice on belt buying. He showed me that the belt I had chosen was reversible, which I had not realized so I won't need to buy a brown belt! There were two brands of jeans, both of which I liked. I found my jeans and realized that I had been wearing too large a size before. I would recommend DXL to anyone looking for big and tall clothing read more

Just moved to the area and have been kind of excited to check this place out. I have an odd shoe size so I figured maybe they could help me out. They had nothing that sets them apart from a typical department store. You could get a better variety at Ross. On top of that my roommate and I walk in and we're eyed and ....assured I guess this was a big and tall shop. I'm well aware of that and don't need to be ogled like I'm a thief. As a large man, I am somewhat held hostage by this store, given it appears to be one of the few options for buying large sizes in the area. I can order online, of course, but finding clothes that fit my body often requires trying things on. Unfortunately, I have now had several bad experiences in a row with this store. Correction: I have had several bad experiences in a row with a manager of the store, a woman I will simply call "H," using her first initial. In my last three visits to the store, H has been quite rude to me and my family. She is very slow, often holding up other customers as she slowly and painfully explains the concepts of "blue jeans" to a customer, as if she is the only one in the world who knows what they are (and even if the customer has already made their selection and just wants to pay and go home.) But my visit last night, January 21, 2018, around 5:00 p.m., was by far the worst experience of all. I simply wanted to buy a new pair of jeans, which should have been a very simple sale for H. But H chose to start our interaction by belittling my wife, and things only got worse from there. I told H that my wife likes the darker blue colors of jeans, and then H turned to my wife and said, quite snottily, "Oh, and what size do you where then?" before pulling my wife aside and telling her to wait behind H while H talked to me. H then launched into a lengthy discussion of all of the styles of blue jeans, even though I was trying to tell her exactly what I wanted. She would not stop to listen to me, but she did stop once to, again, very snottily, tell my wife to stop looking at blue jeans in a nearby stack, because H was busy trying to explain things to her husband and did not need her trying to "help." There was no mistaking H's attitude here. It was rude and condescending. I was (and am) in desperate need of new jeans. I have ordered twice online now, only to get jeans that fit me horribly and needed to be returned. Yesterday, we decided to make the 15-mile trip to the store because the only way I was going to get the jeans I needed was to try them on in person. I cringed when I entered the store, because I saw H target me and descend on us like a Harrier jet. When H treated my wife so poorly (not to mention talking down to me), I immediately went to my wife and we left the store without saying a word. I will not allow my wife to be treated in this manner, and having to deal with H in this store is not worth it. This was not an isolated incident (as everybody has bad days, right?), but the third time in a row of receiving similar treatment. I see there are other comments on Yelp about a "rude lady" at this store, so I don't think this is just me. If I can figure out when H is not working, I would love to try this store again. I have heard good things about someone named Jesse in this store, and hope I can get his help in the future. But I will not work with H again. H needs to learn the meaning of terms like "customer service" and "the customer is always right," even if she works for one of the few stores for big men in the area. read more

I wasn't really looking for a "Go To" clothing store. Just a place where I could get a few pairs of pants. But after my experience at this location they have earned themselves a loyal customer. Heather helped me to identify my size and measurements and pick out some pants that fit perfectly. More than this, the service and thoughtfulness that she provided was more akin to a private trailer than a chain retailer. Thank you Heather for going above and beyond. read more

I like to tell myself that I'm not that big, but I've slightly outgrown what's available at Macy's, the former JCPenney, and any other major retailer. And even when I could find something at these places, the process was always painful, having to find the brands that 'cheat' the most, coupled with 'relaxed fit' and other terms to maybe find a comfortable pair of pants. So I trekked down to Tukwila with my wife, expecting a similarly painful process, and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and painless everything was. Crystal, our store's manager, greeted us when we came in and set me at ease. She quickly determined what I wanted and I was trying on properly-fitting pants in no time. Sometimes, a 'helpful' sales clerk will actually be annoying or pushy, but I didn't find that here. What advice ours gave was quite useful, explaining how different styles will shrink in the laundry differently, etc. All of which ensured that I won't be disappointed down the road with my purchases. The pricing is quite reasonable (at least in my sizes). It's not quite as good as a department store sale, but not as bad as full MSRP at those same stores. So what's not perfect? Well, this store isn't that big, so if they sell out of a certain size in a certain style, they may have to order for you. Some of the brands appear to be a store brand at a very similar price to a name brand; not much designer choice (at least in jeans), but at least there's more than you would get at a traditional retailer, which may have only plain jean styles in large sizes. read more

My son needed clothes for a new job. He generally doesn't like to shop. When we went into The Casual Male XL, he was greeted and fitted into the right clothes immediately. They were even out of a shirt that he wanted and they shipped it to us for free. The sales people were so friendly and comfortable, we will definitely shop there again. I ordered my man some shoes online and they were shipped to this store. The email said I would receive a call once they came in... no call... I tracked the package and it said it was delivered over a week ago. I then called the store to confirm and low and behold it was there... sitting for a week. The girl I spoke said "yes, it's here but I don't know why no one called you" I then picked it up that day on my lunch and again the girl in the store had no answers for me. The lady that works there is always very UN helpfull. She is rude I had asked for a specific size and she said we have everyhing out, with out looking. She doesnt answer questions i ask and seems to be annoyed when I ask. Last time I was in there another customer walked up to ask a question, " Does this shirt come in blue" She said to him did you see one on the rack? I was amazed at her AMAZING sales skills... After reading the two reviews about the mean lady, I was on the look out for rude salespeople. We got the opposite. A guy named Jesse - a big guy himself - helped me out. Great selection for us big men. My only grip is the cost. $30 for 3 tanks. Walmarts about.$20 cheaper. I understand if your over 4x materials cost more. Fred Meyer and Wally world only charge $2 extra for big and talk apparel. Get with the program and stop taking advantage of Big men. read more
