DXL has friendly, helpful staff but their prices are way too expensive. They have a huge store, but somehow the selections are limited. The clearance section was rather large but I was not impressed with what they had to offer. I would recommend checking out Men's Warehouse or Department stores before swinging by DXL. Went into the store today, and was greeted by a super friendly crew. They were helping other customers that were trying on clothing at the moment, so the three salespeople seemlessly worked together to help us find what we were looking for. It was neat how they could just pick up where the last left off and as a team got us great service. On one shirt they were able to order the size we wanted and have it delivered to our home. Very impressive. We had just been at Nordstrom's where the service sucked and we walked out. Great job guys. read more

I have been a fan and customer of DXL way back when they were casual male...... so now that we are at this outlet store i have a whole new opinion....my son Trent has just completed chemo and a huge couple of surgeries on his leg.... he was awarded a mexico trio with his company for exceptional sales and attitude thru it all and working even while sick. Long story short we walk into this store Brent greets us at the door.... Trent is NOT in a good mood but knows he has to buck up and shop with mom and Pri..... he does not want to do this..... Brent did everything to make him comfortable brought oh man 40 items and just kept smiling and bringing stuff.... Trent is now smiling, laughing, trying on everything and loving it..... I come here with my husband and son, and it's nice to see lots of nice looking clothes for big and tall guys. Problem? Slooooooow check out. Line of 4 people, one cash register open. There's a guy standing there doing nothing because he's told everyone he doesn't start until 2. At 1:55 he appears to have caved. But boy that looks bad! Dude, if you're not checking in, go hang out somewhere else. This issue exists regardless of when you visit. Get it together, peeps. There are other places to buy big and tall clothes.... Update - we left because we had waited too long. Way to lose the sale! read more

Staff here are really helpful, and there's a large selection of clothing. You will find a big and well-organized store, a range of brand names, and respectful staff. Prices are a little high, but it is nice to find a range of sizes. Support a locally-owned business here in Tacoma! read more

The new store is great. Online ordering is a nightmare. Go see Crystal and her crew at the new store. They offer good customer service. (5 stars for them) Knocked off 2 stars... Corporate did not listen, When told, before move to new location, it is not bus friendly. (nearest bus stop is over - a 1/2 mile away) Have ordered online, but DXL is quick to clusterf**k that up. Wow sticker shock!! Nothing like gouging people because of their size ! These guys aren't the only store I town with big/tall sizes, but their prices sure seem like it. I'm a big guy but after the shock wears off I think I'll just keep shopping other places. DXL has good clothes and I patronize their web site frequently. But when retail stores finally go the way of the dodo, blame poor customer service. Let me be succinct: blame store owners who sow the seeds of their own demise by thinking short term. How? Simple; by saving a few dollars through hiring dumb teenagers as sales associates who would be over their heads at the local fast food restaurants. Let alone a gentlemen's outfitters. read more

This is an amazing store with great inventory and wonderful staff. My husband has recently gained weight from an injury and was not excited about shopping for new clothes. I was dreading what could be quite an ordeal. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this shopping trip ended up. We were met at the door by saleswoman Crystal who was friendly and without being intrusive was able to help my husband select new jeans, dress pants and a belt. She brought multiple sizes, colors and selections of items for him to try on and offered to order another pair of jeans to ship directly to us at no charge. In less than an hour he walked out with everything he needed and was very happy! I can't imagine how others could rate this store so poorly. We will be shopping here whenever he needs new clothes! read more

Do not shop here. They sell you damaged clothes then don't allow you to return them. What kind of clothing store doesn't take returns? The staff have bad attitudes also. Never shopping here again and you shouldn't either. read more

To be honest I don´t understand the bad reviews. But it´s true that I don´t have to deal with bus and I haven´t tried the online shopping. Anyway I love this shop. Everytime when I am in the US I go there. Staff is friendly and very very helpful. They have a good choice of not only office clothes (shirts, suits, etc.) but also other ones. It´s true that it´s maybe slightly more expensive than other shops but it´s still so much cheaper than in Europe (approximately 40-60%) and the choice is much better than in other places I have visited in US. And the quality of materials is still pretty good. And it´s right by the highway so it´s easy to get there. I like these kind of shops because I know that I will always find what I need. read more

This is an great place to shop the entire staff is very professional. We went in for a shirt an Brent helped us and gave us some great ideas for my fiancé wedding attire. Brent has amazing taste an a sharp eye. He wasn't pushing us to buy expensive items stuck with our budget and we walked away very happy. Would not visit this store again. When we arrived we were greeted by a sales associate, he helped find us a pair of pants and then he let my husband into a dressing room. He never came to check on us or help me find any other sizes. I ended up having to use one of the step ladders to get a shirt down since I could not find a sales associate to help me. The girl that rang up our purchase looked bored and clearly didn't enjoy her job. We will drive to Oregon for any future purchases since they actually like helping their customers. read more

We went in the store for the first time since December & boy has it changed! The cologne or air fresheners are way too much. Also, we felt like we were in a car dealership. A man approached us & tried to chit-chat then asked for our names & shook our hands. He left & said a woman would check on us. Not 2 minutes later she did the same thing (minus shaking hands). Can't we just browse without the hassle? Why do they feel the need to ask for our names. We'll shop online from now on. read more
