"UNPLEASANT ENCOUNTER, HUMILIATED AND DISGUSTED"…read more On 12/29/25, I was greeted, welcomed to shopping and even helped to the register with all of my items I was purchasing. It was a great shopping experience and very pleasant. An African American gentleman brought my boxes to the front as I continued shopping. Once I arrived at the register #2 @1800 from the wall(Forgot cashier name) she was the most friendly and pleasant cashier ever. She made me want to purchase the whole store. I literally purchased 7 pairs of shoes. I was all excited and trying to figure out how I can purchase more. On 1/6/26 @ 5:38pm Register 3 from the wall I choose not to mention her name was one of the most degrading, humiliating and unfortunate experiences I have ever encountered at this location. I had a receipt and original box and bag. I clearly don't even like using the race card but some things are very obvious. I stood in line and there was only one cashier. The next cashier seen the line was long and decided to come and assist her colleague. She asked for next in line. I proceeded to the register placed my bag and box on counter and requested a size 10.5 in a particular shoe. SHe pulled the box out of the bag, use the device and seen there was no size 10.5 in stock. She proceeded to tell me I will give you a refund. I am looking at the device with her and noted the 10.5 in stock online, she never once asked if I wanted her to order online, she never even looked at other locations to see if they had it in stock, her demeanor was unapproachable. I then proceeded to say Can you order the shoe? She begin processes the refund, placed the receipt in my hand and totally ignored my request. I look at receipt in my hand and said " Okay what are the next steps, I requested to order shoe" SHe makes a disgusted sound and says you want me to order it online" I was disgusted myself at this point. I requested a manager. I stepped to the side and allowed her to assist other customers. Mrs Nichelle arrived to the register she provided her side of the story to Mrs Nichelle and then the manager requested for the other cashier to assist me. As I am standing inline I noted the receipt which had placed the refund on gift cards that I disposed of in the store and no longer had. Now I am really frustrated. She never asked me how I wanted the refund. Remember in the beginning I mentioned I requested to order another size so therefore you could have used a DSW gift card, reordered shoe and used that gift card to pay for it. By this point I had to wait on Mrs Nichelle again. I decided to pay for the shoe on my own first. Mrs Nichelle spoke with customer service and they requested I call them and they would directly help me. I was frustrated but I left the store and sat in my car and customer care took care of everything. They provided me with a new gift card, I called the store back and reported everything to Mrs. Nichelle to let her know everything was taken care of. The most hurting part is being treated a certain way when you have done nothing to be treated that way. I work hard to be able to enjoy a shopping experience. Then to make matters worst I am an ELITE member which means I spend money to reach that status nothing was given to me. I will not let this ruin my experience and I would hope the cashier understand how her experience has made me feel as a person.

I'm still in the store, and have been here 45 minutes. No one came to help. The manager (glasses…read morehair in a bun) walked around with a new trainee it seems. I cannot and will not return.
