Prices are very reasonable- roughly the same as the big thrift store around the corner except the condition of items and selection was much better. The staff was lovely, explained the process to me clearly, and the process was very easy and low friction. I recommend that you select high quality pieces and ensure they are professionally or thoroughly cleaned before selling to the store. I'm so glad I just happened to find this place today when just getting coffee next door! I was greeted warmly right away by Mark, who explained the sales, the merchandise layout and all the options. This is by far the most well-organized resale shop I've ever been in. I was helped by several other employees with starting a dressing room, finding items, and holding items up front for me. They have a great selection of casual to high-end clothing, shoes and accessories! I haven't tried selling there yet, but I certainly would in the future. I think my teenagers will also find plenty of things that they like there, so it's for a variety of ages. We'll be back! read more

Clothes Mentor in Katy is the largest group on condescending women I have ever seen. An entire flock of stuck up, better then thou, arrogant women. I have never been talked down to so much in one place in my life. My daughter and I both took a lot of things in because we have lost weight and cleaned out our closets. Some of the item that were turned down still had price tags on them. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this place. If you have items to sell take them to Platos closet. Those ladies were totally amazing, kind and genuine. I will NEVER be so desperate as to ever go near Clother Mentor in Katy ever again! read more

First a bit of background...I have been obsessed with resale shopping for twenty five years. I have been to almost every resale store in Houston, from the grungiest ones in questionable neighborhoods to exclusive ones in the River Oaks area. I have a lot of knowledge about which stores will actually get you out the door with something you love for a great price. Having said all of that, this place is fantastic! I am so very impressed with the quality of the clothing (both in design and repair) and the staff. All of the employees---from the owner to the young, fresh faced girl who is probably no older than---18 engaged me in sincere conversation and offered not only their help, but asked me for any suggestions I might have about what could be done differently to improve the store. It truly made for a welcoming (and fun!) atmosphere! The selection of the clothes is outstanding and sizes range from XS to 3X, which is pretty epic. Now, if you are a customer who wants to spend one or two dollars per garment, this is not the place for you. They sell premium and luxury goods for very low prices while still maintaining the quality of the items. Nothing is dirty or torn. No clothes from the 80's or some such nonsense. Just beautiful clothes for crazy low prices right here in Katy, with a sweet staff that is ready to help you with a smile! I can't recommend this place enough! Go there! Now! read more

I am so happy I found this shop. The shop/boutique is very clean and well organized and has a nice selection of high end second hand clothes at good prices. The employees were very sweet and helpful. They even offer teacher discounts on Tuesdays (in my experience, I do not see too many clothing stores that offer a discount to teachers) I highly recommend and I will certainly be coming back. read more

This review is for Clothes Mentor in Katy, TX and also for all Clothes Mentor online stores that I have visited. I was very lucky to purchase a Louis Vuitton purse for a good price. However, the quality of their inventory is somewhat questionable. Do they want to be a luxury reseller or do they want to be just another Plato Closet chain? Some of the items I found at the Katy store and online from other Clothes Mentor stores are such in bad taste that I'm not sure why they bother to buy then sell them????? read more

This place is really great!! Very friendly and helpful staff. Tons of really nice brands but nothing is over priced at all. Lots of discounts as well! Before going in I called and asked if they purchase Louis Vuitton vintage bags. One of the owners, I think the wife of the other owner said "absolutely, for Louis Vuitton it is a $15 charge to authenticate to make sure it is an authentic bag. Go ahead and bring it in." I drove 12 miles to the location and the cashier immediately went to go get the owner because she wasn't able to price luxury items. The owner approached the counter and I pulled out my bags. One of my Louis bags was pretty rough so I understood why he wouldn't accept it. The second bag was in pretty good condition but had a bit of wear on the bottom corner. The third bag was a Prada purse and in great condition. He thoroughly examined the bag and said " this bag is in great condition, but unfortunately I'm unable to make you an offer because we have enough bags in our inventory." If that is the case, why was I told over the phone that they are accepting luxury purses with a $15 authentication fee. If it was a blonde hair, blue eyed non person of color, he would have absolutely accepted it. Just a warning to black women who try and sell their items to this store, you might be turned away. This was extremely disappointing. Shame on you! read more

Stopped in this location, did not know about them. This seems to be the top resale/consignment store in Katy. They have a diverse supply of clothing and sizes. Impressed by their bags and shoes. Many designer or mid range options. Their items were high quality and well selected. No stains/tears, etc. Most of all their team was helpful and attentive. Will be back! read more
