Hands down best sandwich shop I've ever been too! Hands down. I first tried this place 15 years ago and I still haven't found a better sandwich shop yet. I have been actively searching too! My search for a better sandwich shop includes every place I have traveled across the United States. A couple places came close, but "D-Dubs" holds the title. Do yourself a favor and get over there!!! Beefs dips are awesome....My go-to is the Super! The Italian dressing is the best here. I like to support local owned business when I can. This is a family business. They got new owners. DWs is owned and operated by Esperanza, a really nice woman whose efforts are evident in the quality of her subs. DWs is not immediately noticeable. It's located in the plaza next to a liquor store and Stater Bros and isn't somewhere you would generally come across when looking for food. Once you do try it though, you'll be hooked like all of my coworkers are. My favorites to order are the meatball sub and the antipasta salad. The half order sub is filling and the meatballs are tasty. The antipasta salad comes with different types of meats and cheeses and makes you feel like you're having an amazing sub without the bread calories. If you're looking for a tasty sandwich for a really good price, try DWs. They also serve ice cream, malts and shakes to pair with your sub. read more

I found this place average at best. Problem is the bread, it's hard to put my finger on it, but it's very preservative tasting. The rolls were nice and soft like I usually like, but soft like out of a Pepperidge Farm Sub Roll Plastic bag. Now because of the packaging that they took the roll out of, I could tell they get the rolls baked somewhere especially for them and they aren't just store bought. But man they tasted like it. I'm guessing that it would still be soft 3 days from now as well. It was completely nondescript. So what about the rest, the problem is, if you don't like the roll, it's hard to really enjoy anything else. I tried 2 subs an Italian (genoa, capicola, ham, provolone) and a Turkey, Roast Beef, Ham, and Provolone. The meat wasn't the best quality, but wasn't the worst either. Kind of just like a mild step up from Subway. We aren't talking Boar's Head here for sure. The Turkey and Genoa were the best of the bunch, with the capicola being my least favorite. Strange capicola, because usually it's spicy and this was very mild for a capicola. Since Capicola is a very fatty meat, a mild capicola isn't really a good thing, because then all you taste is fat. The roast beef was well, rather than rare. I like mine a little pink or red even, but this was subway brown all the way through. The taste wasn't bad however, it had an ok flavor. The meat content on both subs was very good so no need to order double meat or anything. You definitely get your money's worth for this sub. I think they were only like $6 for a footlong or something. The onions were sliced nice and thin, shredded lettuce, and sliced plum tomatoes. All veggies were fresh, so no complaint there, could have had a few more tomatoes maybe. The dressing was very good. Kind of an Italian with a slight lemony taste to it. Other reviews here have praised it and I agree it's good and it helps cover up the average meat quality. I also enjoyed the potato salad. Kind of a baked potato salad thing going on with a sour cream and chive taste to it. But not chunky like other baked potato salads I've had. Potatoes were sliced. Perhaps some of the hot sandwiches are better than the cold ones. And I didn't have any ice cream or slushies. I will stop back sometime for a slushy. I doubt I'll be back for a sub sandwich though. I suppose there is the chicken salad and tuna salad to try, since I liked what they did with the potato salad. I'll get it in a pita, since I didn't like the bread. But then it's not a sub anymore and that's what I was really looking for at this place. I think the bar has been set pretty low in LA/OC for subshops. So perhaps that's why D W Subs has such a high rating. Saw the reviews and we live close by so had to try it. I got the meatball sandwich because of a couple of the reviews. It was really great and a great value for the price. My wife got the turkey, and I have to say that it was really good as well. This place is nothing fancy, just quality food for prices that are a little cheaper than other sandwich places. My fiance used to go to D W in high school, he said it was the place to go. He took me there recently and I was VERY impressed with how fabulous their sandwiches were! I'm not sure what makes them so fabulous, they just are! The meats and cheese were fresh. This has been our go to sandwich place for over 25 yrs. My husband used to go here when he went to Esperanza in the 80's. Same owner since then. My favorite is the warm Green chili roast beef. It is sooo yum. The pizza sub is my boys favorite. They have daily specials you can choose from too. They are very busy at lunch time. Only a few tables to sit at. Also, lots of kids from the school go there so call in your order and she will have it ready for you. read more

If you live in Yorba Linda or Anaheim and went to Esperanza HS, you know Dee Dub's sandwiches. I've been coming here for the past 10 years and the sandwiches are still made the same way with the same ingredients with the same delicious taste....by the same people too! Their turkey/roast beef club with bacon and avocado is my favorite. The meatball and italian sandwiches with provolone are definite favorites among the locals. Be sure to avoid this place around 2:45 or 3 unless you like to wait around with all the other high schoolers waiting for rides. read more

I have been coming here since first grade and it is still as delicious as ever! The owner remembers me and my order to this day. I usually get a BLT but everything I've ever had has been great. I cant resist getting the BLT or something with bacon because she cooks it to order and to crispy perfection every time. The service is great and although the place is not very big the wait is very minimal. The sandwich ingredients are really good, if I had to say anything as to what I personally would change- free refills and the bread could be upgraded. There was a time (under the previous ownership) when I was afraid to sing praises of DW's on Yelp in fear that others would find out about this hidden gem in North Orange County. The bomber was my go to sub as it was basically an Italian sub layered with salami, capicola, and provolone drenched in Italian dressing. Unfortunately, those days are nothing but remnants of a fond dream. Ever since the change in ownership, the quality of the bomber has gone so downhill that I was barely able to finish my sub during my last visit. The meat to bun ratio is completely off while the bun itself is dense and dry. The only saving grace is their phenomenal ice machine as it makes THE BEST crushed ice in town (which you'll need with your beverage of choice) to help wash down the inedible bread. I'm sorry to say this but this once loyal customer will now have to look elsewhere when in the mood for a hoagie. read more

Visited this place for the first time last week and was amazed it has been here all this time. I have lived in Yorba Linda for over 16 years and never noticed this amazing sandwich shop tucked away in the corner next to stater brothers. The line was really long when we first got there but it was worth the wait. I ordered the turkey club and the combination of bacon, turkey, avocado and Italian dressing was perfect.
