I met a gentlemen by the name of Howard Breen who represented himself as owner of the company. We talked about my budget of $ 30K and spent several hours talking through what I wanted to have done. He took measurements and a video of each room. He shared a bit about himself, his divorce and how he is running the business with his daughters and how he believes in being transparent and treats others with kindness and respect. He left saying we can make this happen and he would work up the bid that night. I let him know that I was not in a hurry and I would be ok with the following Monday. I did not hear from Howard or anyone from DBRC on Monday, I called him several days later and his voice mail was full so I sent a text. I did not hear back from Howard. I sent Trey a text on 3/16/2022 mentioning this to him. He apologized for the "lack of communication" and mentioned they were backed up. He said he would have an estimate to me in 2 to 3 days. I said I understand and I am ok waiting as long as I can be kept informed. I messaged him the next day and asked if he might share photos of projects they have completed and references that I could look at while waiting. I did not receive a reply from Trey or an estimate in 2 to 3 days. It's 3/24/2022 and I have not heard from Trey or Howard. I am surprised based on the conversation Howard and I had when meeting and I am not surprised based on the general reputation of contractors. I thought DBRC was different based on my initial contact with Trey and meeting with Howard. Part of running a business is having processes in place to keep your customers informed. Most everyone is willing to wait if they know what is going on especially now with supply chain issues. Maybe the job size and priority of all the work they have going on they decided they did not want to bid the job. If that were the case, they could have just told me. If Howard over promised and they could not deliver, they could have told me that as well. I completed research on DBRC as part of my process in selecting a contractor and learned that their contractor license is relatively new as of the end of last year. So I searched under Howard Breen only to find his previous license status as revoked and quite a bit of information in public records about him. I do believe we all can change and move beyond experiences in life however it all starts with our ability to change behavior. I hesitated in writing this review however I know I would appreciate knowing this information if I was considering hiring DBRC as a contractor.

All of which I had been pleased with both pricing and quality. However, recently things went completely off the rails. The project started bad and ended awful. I got a call the day before the start saying we'd have a few days delay. Ok fine. I got a call later saying somebody would show up tomorrow. No one did. I got a call the next day saying they'd be there tomorrow. This time a guy showed up, said he needed to get some supplies, and never came back! Finally a guy came and tiled the shower and floors. Progress. Next, a crew came to do install the vanity. They left and never came back. Literally no one has come back to my house. And to make matters worse, Danny has completely ghosted me! Will not return my text. Will not return my calls. He was Johnny quick when it was time to collect the deposit. And now, nothing. It's bad enough that he took my money and left me high and dry. Our project was delayed months. When I finally scrambled to get a different contractor we found issues wrong with our cabinets. That's not their fault but given the delays we missed our return window. That's at least a couple more thousand dollars this company cost me. It has been an extremely frustrating experience apart from the money lost. We signed a contract. Never trust a company that doesn't honor it's own paperwork.
