Nothing but trouble after charming sales pitch by Rashad Mashraky. This was a Costco contractor who we have been more than satisfied with. You would expect a 14k ac/heating system to work better than the 30 year old unit it replaced but that was definitely not the case. Rashad, who said to call with any problems never responded after numerous attempts. Office sent an inspector, Joe F out who reported installation was done incorrectly and needed to be corrected. This was their own inspector. After numerous calls and promises to get back to me with a resolution I have yet to be contacted. Issue has been reported to Costco. Just wanted to warn fellow Yelpers of my frustrating and expensive dealings with AZ Air Conditioning. read more

Surprised Costco would use these guys. Normally I am impressed with everything Costco - good value for decent quality. These guys however are all about the hard sell and upsell when they are with you. One of the reasons they "require all homeowners be present" - so they can try to push a decision / sign up same day rather than having you go out and get a few quotes. There are plenty of other HVAC guys, I would avoid this one. read more

We got our HVAC system through Costco. The Lennox unit works well for the home. It cools the house as expected. I have no complaint against the actual Lennox cooling system. I am a little disappointed with the service contractor AZ Air. We were oversold on services that were not needed or provided. Sales representatives contacted us promptly. We were able to get an appointment with the sales-rep within a week and an installation date soon after. We had a working system within weeks after showing up at Costco. I just think that we got way over charged, we were sold on services that were not provided. During the consultation, the sales rep told us that the installers will have to run NEW connections all throughout the house, including new pipes, copper, electrical. He claimed that they have done a few houses in the community with the same layout and they know how to run everything. On the day of installation, the Lead Installer told me that everything will be very easy because my house was already pre wired, pre piped, pre "electrical-ed". He is saying the installation will be very close to "plug-n-play". As a home owner, I am glad that the installers don't have to drill extra holes and run extra pipes throughout the house, but at the same time I paying for the services of running new pipes, new copper, new electrical. If those services were not needed why am I paying for it? As a sales-rep that had seen the same houses in the same community, shouldn't he know that these houses are already pre-wired for AC? Shouldn't he know when he saw the connectors on the side of the house? Shouldn't he know when the homeowner pointed out at the connectors for the AC? The existing connectors were not hidden. The installers saw it right away. read more

I had my complete Heating and air conditioning replaced by this company. They did a great job my house was spotless when they finished . They Worked from 8 AM till after 7pm to complete the job. It took them a little longer because of needing an electrician to come and change a plug. The permit process was easy accept they had to come back and repair some cosmetic issues. The 2 who did the repairs did a great job and no issues with the city. I purchased this through Costco and the CASH card I received within was a nice added bonus! read more

Horrible company. They sale you a unit size that you don't really need. They installed a system on the roof of my townhome. Unit is too big for the pad. The did a terrible job at connecting the gas line. They did not ground the unit. They did the regular maintenance on the unit so of course their tech is not going to say that they did a bad job. A tech from another company was in the roof servicing the unit for my neighbor and saw how poorly it was installed and came to my door and told me. I have since had to pay extra money to have somethings corrected. And the Lennox system is not all that great. Stay away from AZ Air and Heating. Their prices are high and there will take advantage of you. read more

AZ is a vendor through our local Costco. From the numerous negative reviews reported for an AC quote and installation I consider myself extremely fortunate and had a very positive experience instead. I had to replace an original 40 yr. old gas furnace. AZ representative, Ivan Balcazar was prompt, courteous, and very professional. After a detailed inspection of the old unit and interior/exterior home premises he quoted me a choice of installation options along with Costco's added shopping bonus points with purchase. He also followed-up with emails and phone messages before the installation date. The AZ installers came on time, completely covered their work traffic area with plastic sheeting, spent the entire day working, demonstrated in detail the installation and the newly mounted touch screen thermostat and left everything cleaned and vacuumed when finished after leaving me operation manuals. The entire process all happened within one week from initial home visit start to finish. Salesman Ivan called for my feedback the following day. Its been over two weeks since; this Lennox unit is state-of-the art powerful, accurate, heat energy efficient and quiet. I couldn't be more satisfied making this decision through Costco. Thank you, AZ Air and Heating. read more

My name is Michael J Mullen and I have just had AZ install my Lennox AC/Heater system for my house. I just had to write and say how impressed and grateful I am for how everyone at AZ fulfilled all their responsibilities. Christine Sandoval was my contact person throughout the process and she was amazing every step pf the way. It took me quite a long time to get my funding together and she was always patient and kind and cheerful with me. Christine always resolved any issues I might have and always answered her phone to help me with cheer and professionalism. She was efficient and well informed and experienced and always got back to me asap with answers she needed to get through research. I am so grateful to her for helping me get the most affordable yet all quality result. I know she went well beyond what I am ever used to and it was very refreshing and I am so happy with what I have received for my expense. Christine always had the attitude that she could help me beyond what I expected and that she would find each solution and then she came through every time. Christine has that unique quality that combines a great heart with and efficient and creative and well thought out determination and drive. Wow. Thank you, Christine, so much. You are an incredible asset to a great company. Aram was the person who came to my house and set up what was needed. He was kind and knew his stuff and very honest about what I needed and I trusted him. He told me what would work and what would not. He always explained everything so I could understand a very complicated process and installation. When there were issues to resolve he did so in a timely and friendly and efficient manner and the end result proved his expertise. He worked with me every step to create a system that I know is the best. The installation crew was terrific. Headed by Marino, the crew was made up of Walter, Anthony, Joshua and Michael. Jose and Jesus also worked on the electrical installation. The two men who did the follow up work (Jimmy and, I'm sorry but I can't remember the other man's name) after installation are also to be included in my praise. All the men worked very hard at a very complicated job. They obviously love their work and it shows. They were happy and helpful and resolved all my issues in a professional and kindhearted manner. They worked incredibly well together each fulfilling their complicated tasks quickly and moving on to the next. They showed great respect and kindness to me and showed respect and care for my property and its contents and the yard. I was most appreciative of that. Marino was an amazing leader who the men respected very much and were happy to be instructed and led by. They worked very hard for two days and the great results and inspections prove their expertise. When any difficulties or unexpected hurdles arose, Marino came to me and told me all options and what was best and he helped me every time to find the best way forward. That was so great for me. Most of all they made a very unsure situation for me very pleasant with great results and I was greatly relieved. All work was done to the finest quality and workmanship and it is evident in every part of the installation and the results. I am very grateful. The management and owners, also, made decisions that truly made it possible for me to pay for the completion of the project and I am very thankful to them. They matched the lower bid of the other Costco company I had chosen not to go with. They honored that bid after a large amount of time had gone by as I tried to save up the money. They stood by their work and resolved every concern I had with the integrity you only hope for in a company you are relying on to fulfill your needs. They sent out a crew asap to resolve a few issues I had after installation who resolved everything efficiently and quickly and with care. AZ resolved all my concerns with integrity and fairness and I am very grateful to all. read more

Overall just a bad company , the service was horrible . If you take a good look the installers are not professional I believe I seen them drinking on there break was a 100 degrees in ridge crest but still they should have waited. My review is the same as Bertie B. below. Sounds like I got the same type unit. I found them in Costco and my thoughts were that if Costco allows them space in there warehouse they have to be good and priced right, so why shop. The instillation was time consuming and no one went home until I was completely satisfied. I also now have a cleaner garage as well. Thank you guys. read more

Wow! Who did this company pay off to erase all the negative reviews! AZ ripped me off for over $500.00 They sent their C team over to install a mini split ductless system in my garage and it drained into the wall instead of outside because the installer didn't know what he was doing, They came out 5 different times to fix and charged me 80 bucks each time. Eventually they fixed the problem but didn't fix drywall or paint that they f___ed up. Use anyone except AZ!!!!!! Total BOZOS not to mention thieves!!! read more

The service we received was exceptional. From the initial consultation, installation, to final city inspection, the staff have all been exceptionally helpful and professional. The quality of work is without a doubt the best I've ever seen. They knew exactly what it takes to get the job done, and get them done right the first time. I'm extremely pleased and will not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. read more

I had nothing but a great experience with AZ starting with the salesman to the installation team. Since I live in a condo the unit had to be put on the rood with a crane. The crane operator really new his job and it went well. The team that worked inside was efficient and neat. This was installed in some of the hottest, humid weather we have had recently and the system works like a charm. A couple of errors came up on the panel and a technician was sent out within a day and "tweaked" the settings. I am happy and cool. AZ was recommended to me by a friend and she had a great experience too. read more

AZ just finished a semi-large job, installing a new indoor coil. Very pleased with all aspects of this company! Referred to AZ by a very good friend who has used them for years...and she had been referred to them by one her best friends, who has used them for many more years in numerous houses he has owned. Came home from vacay, A/C not working. Called AZ very late in afternoon and they were able to schedule technician DJ first thing the next day. He found entire system depleted of R22. Conducted a leak and pressure test next day - found indoor coils to be corroded (12+ years old) and needed replacement. Very costly endeavor, as these coils are being phased out due to all heat pump/condensors transitioning out of R22 usage (a whole other story). Also, I was told it would take until November (!) to get it replaced. Thus, called 2 other companies for quotes: one came, gave a quote half the cost of AZ, and said they could get the needed component. However they didn't even get the refrigerant type correct, didn't add in cost of R22 replacement, and type of coils needed. Then their price jumped up to AZ quote. Spoke to a 3rd company, very reputable, been in business literally over 100 years. They confirmed exactly what AZ said, and added that the company in Texas that makes these coils has greatly decreased production of them due depletion of R22. DJ pressed his co-workers over the next 2 days to find this component ASAP, and was successful. I very much appreciated his efforts all the way around: professional, knowledgeable, great communicator, hard worker. My interaction with office staff was perfectly fine; I read the other negative Yelp reviews but that was not how I experienced them. Early this am, Thomas arrived, with DJ soon thereafter. They had the component, and spent the better part of the day installing and testing at the end to ensure proper functioning. System works better than before as they plugged a couple of holes a prior company had left after replacing ducting 3 yrs ago. Thomas was just as awesome as DJ - knowledgeable, professional and a hard worker. I will be signing up for AZ maintenance contract soon, and will request these particular techs as they were outstanding. A quick note about all the negative reviews regarding linkage with Costco: something is definitely wrong there, so I highly suggest if you want to work with AZ, get Costco out of the picture entirely, just call AZ yourself, and not be associated with their Costco agreement. read more

A few days ago, I ordered an air conditioner and heating unit from Costco. The sales person Eddy was quick to come out to give me a quote. He was extremely accommodating, friendly, patient and professional. He sincerely had my best interest in mind. The installation was scheduled for a few days later by AZ Air Conditioning and Heating. First the abatement team came in and quickly removed the old unit and all of the ducts. They were punctual, fast and clean! A day later the installation was completed. Angel and his crew were incredibly professional from the moment they stepped onto our property. I was greeted by very friendly employees and Angel gave a clear explanation of what was to take place during the installation, Our home was well cared for during the installation process and left spotless when it was completed. The crew was respectful, skilled and appreciative of our business. Could not ask for a better experience. I am also completely satisfied with the quality and performance of the new system! We had our HVAC system replaced in June and installation went fairly smooth with just a couple of bumps in the road but nothing we couldn;'t handle. The reason for the low rating is follow up service and communication. Our sales person was knowledgeable, personable and accommodating until the job was nearly done but now to get the adjustments needed, the final touches on things promised and just to get someone to call back has been frustrating to say the least. They do not tell you what to do should you have follow up issues nor do they send qualified people to make the necessary adjustments to a recently installed device. It is sad to know that customer service is not just on the front end of the sale but extends until all the issues are resolved. I have been trying to hunt down the sales person or the only other person I have spoken to. I would not recommend this company just based on the follow up service and lack of follow through on their end. I guess if 95% of an installation is what you are looking for then this would be the company for you. If Edson is your sales person - get everything in writing first before agreeing to the work as his follow up skills and integrity have a lot to be desired. read more

AZ set up an appointment to have an agent respond to my house between 12 and 1pm. By 1:15, nobody had arrived, so I called to inquire. The falsely she claimed she had called to let me know that the agent was delayed and would not arrive until 1:37. I commented that nobody had called and the display was pretty poor for a company trying to win my business. The agent was rude, saying only "I'm sorry you feel that way." I immediately canceled the appointment, not willing to undertake an expensive project with an unreliable company. read more

AZ installed a 1st time central home A/C unit and replaced our old furnace 3 years ago. Today, we had one of our 2x a year services by Joseph S. We have not had any problems with our A/C or furnace since the installation and are pleased with how both systems are working. read more

Horrible service. I would not recommend this company to anyone. First their sales guy Sergio lied to us. He sold us on one unit and gave us a different one thinking we would not notice. We noticed until after everything was installed. Second, we signed up to pay for the service through the HERO program. We were told we did not have to sign the final documents till everything was working properly. Sergio the sales guy kept on pushing for us to sign the final documents. We told him we needed time since we had a death in the family. We wanted to make sure everything was in working order but he kept on pushing. Also, their staff is completely clueless of what steps to take, to make sure all inspections pass the city permits. They scheduled so many unnecessary appointments. I had to miss work at least 20 days just to find out they could not fix the problem. We went through a Costco preferred company because we wanted a smooth transaction and professional service. Bad idea. AZ is very expensive and has horrible service. They took 7 months to finalize installation and getting all permits approved. It was the most expensive service I have ever paid for and the worst experience I have ever had with any service company. This experience was very stressful. read more

Received incessant calls from 818-962-2848. The caller never left a message. So I call back and find out it's this company. Likely calling because of an inquiry at Costco. They installed both new A/C and replaced existing furnace. They installed new furnace in attic which provides additional room in our garage. Everything they did was very professional. They asked all the questions regarding actions they took and explained everything as they proceeded on the installation. All staff were very polite--not necessary, but much appreciated. read more

I hired A Z Air Conditioning & Heating to investigate a problem I was having with my air conditioner last summer. The serviceman arrived on time and was friendly. He discovered the 20+ year old motor in my unit needed to be replaced. He offered up several pricing estimates before doing the work, and also gave me labor costs up front. He took the time to investigate any other potential issues and even threw in free hardware and a replacement part for my fan. What I liked most about this company is they gave me options and did not rush me into making the repair. They did not pull out any hard sale tactics. These guys seemed honest. I'd do business with them again. read more

Commerical Use..Watch out...The only good thing was the Service Response time.. AC unit not working so AZ Replaced a control board and charged... $1550.00 the next day AC unit not working again AZ were called back out. great response again. AZ was amAZing. As corny as that statement looks it's the truth. I hired them through Costco to install a new Lennox system. I could not have been happier with the job they did. The next time anyone needs a new HVAC system AZ will be my first recommendation. read more

I bought a new AC for my home COSTCO and got an AZ Air conditioning referral. My designated project consultant was Jermaine Kelly who was very professional in explaining how the system worked and the benefits. After the unit installation, AZ service went downhill. I took AZ 6 months to complete the job which included following through with the City Inspector's safety recommendations. The poor customer service ranged from missed appointment dates to admitted poor communication. AZ was great when it came to installation of the unit. It is the follow-up service that I am complaining about. read more

Believe the bad reviews and stay away from these people! First, it took 3 attempts and 9 days to get an appointment just for an evaluation- felt like I was dealing with the DMV! When the guy finally got there, I told him I needed to change my 30-year-old AC unit to a newer version of equivalent size and quality. He INSISTED that we had to SIT DOWN for 60-90 minute consultation, and was set on filling out an 8-page questionnaire he brought with him. The two reputable companies that came before him took 10 minutes to give me a quote, without wasting my time, but this guy was dead set on his agenda. He asked questions like "did your unit stop heating too? or just cooling?" And "are you planning to do any more remodeling in your house?" I finally stopped him, saying these questions were irrelevant, as I am looking to replace the AC and all I needed from him was a quote. I then reminded him that since he showed up 40 minutes late to his appointment, and his company had called me 3 times (no joke) the day before to make sure I'd be available between 2-3, technically he only had 20 minutes left of our scheduled time to do all his evaluation and estimation. At this point, he got flustered and said perhaps he should come back another time (think again!), and actually said "Good luck, because you're going to need it". Needless to say I escorted him out. I stopped to think to myself- do I really want to deal with these people, who have shown to be hard to reach, inconsiderate of my wishes, and rude- even BEFORE they have my business? Let's say I save a couple of hundred bucks installing with them. What happens when there is a problem with the unit and I need to call them in? Do I even dare think what my experience could be like then? No, thank you! I'm going with one of the other reputable companies who treated me as a valued customer. read more

We contracted AZ Air to install central A/C. The process was a little rocky but AZ Air was persistent in getting it installed correctly and obtaining the city's permit. Shortly after installation the control board on the furnace, which also controls the new A/C unit, died. It was not clear whether this was due to the new A/C unit or power surges or simply age. Nonetheless, Tony Osman, AZ's Service Manager, went to bat on our behalf and installed a new control board at no charge. Tony and his team was diligent in making sure everything got done correctly. They were professional and responsive, and I highly recommend AZ Air to others. read more

The a/c unit in my house has one of their stickers on it so when I discovered a sewer gas smell coming from the a/c vents from time to time when the air is running I called them to ask if I could speak with a technician over the phone for a quick minute to ask if it could possibly be associated with the a/c or if I should call a plumber instead. The person who answered the phone was nice but said that the only way I could ask that question was to schedule a $99 service call. I could not speak with a technician. I have no problem paying for service but I don't want to schedule and pay an HVAC guy to come out just to tell me in 30 seconds that I need a plumber instead. I am disappointed they couldn't do more to help me determine if I needed their service. read more

The workers were so professional! Even in hot weather and our tight attic, they were extremely hardworking! Also, Ashton, their sales rep who came out to our house, was so pleasant and professional! He didn't try to scam or use any pressure-sale tactics on us. These guys did not at all fit any negative Yelp comments or descriptions from other customers. It also helps that AZ is a vendor to a trust-worthy company like Costco. This was the worst experience I could had. The quality of work was among the poorest. The sub-contractor's worker was insane. I ask for a receipt via email, the manager said yes. His worker stormed into my house, stomping his feet in my face screaming "we don't do that you can forget it. I told him, I would call the police if he didn't leave my property. The condition of my tenants closet ceilings and wall had to be done by amateurs. There was a huge hole in the ceiling, with a silver duct clumsily taped with blue paint tape falling down. They tried to pressure me to sign the contract. One of their guys pretended he was from Costco. Their are still outstanding issues, 3 long wires sticking up towards the sky with electric tape wrapped around them. The thermostat is not working at this time from freezing to 85 degree all in one night. It would not respond to the programs or dials. I m waiting for follow up. It's been a long time since we had our AC systems looked at (25 years). Enough that we finally wanted to have someone take a look at them. Found AZ services with the referral from Costco. I was quite pleased about both parties' responsiveness to schedule a maintenance check within 2-3 business days and determine what were some of the major issues affecting the operations of the unit. The maintenance guy described the various issues, including environmental issues with the old systems and helped to setup a free quote look for the next day. Decisions were ultimately made to replace the old systems, fulfilling a request for quick service tailored to our needs (during early spring - non-peak time and pricing considerations). Their process with the permits was completed without haste. With the replacement of 3 systems (plus ducting and other issues), a team of about 12, led by Manuel V, arrived to complete the work. The expected project completion was 1-2 days, but they worked longer to complete it in 1 (with some longer hours and that if it worked for us). The team was amazing and very professional. There was a plan to the project, how the teams were split and how they would complete their tasks. They were courteous and informed us of what they were doing and any issues or particulars we needed to understand about the work. The team manager also worked to understand our needs and concerns with the older systems. The team techie showed us how to program the thermostats and how to access them online. It was also pleasing to see him teaching a few of the others how the thermostats work - hands-on knowledge sharing. I could see the effort from the top and the bottom to ensure a good service delivery now and in the future. At the end, the team cleaned up quite well inside and outside. Systems are running perfectly, quietly and efficiently. The additional ability to control the thermostats if we have forgotten to turn them off before leaving the house is a plus. Martiza in the office has provided good follow-up and follow-through for getting questions answered or concerns addressed. Overall, we are pleased with the results and have learned more about how to take care of the new systems. Ultimately, the entire process - from request through Costco, maintenance check and installation completion all happened within one week. We plan to have the company help with regular maintenance checks in the future. read more
