We took our kids here and they had an enjoyable time. This is for the younger ones. My 5 year olds enjoyed it but still they crave some of the bigger rides that you just won't find here. They have a larger water park section with a splash pad, some larger slides and other water areas. My kids stuck to the main, non water park. This is a throwback to another era with a monorail, running through the parking lot and some older vintage rides. You can tell some of the parts could use some TLC. The bumper cars broke multiple times during our visit, ever time we were in line. They also had a recent incident with their sky ride getting stuck and guests had to be rescued. My kids loved the animatronic dinosaurs at the back of the park, but some of dinosaurs definitely have seen better days and some were not operating at all. All in all, the kids will love it. And as adults, it's entertaining enough with manageable lines. read more

The rooms are recently remodeled so up to date and clean. However, both our room and our son's had an issue with the shade. There is a large bead on the chain to close it and it was caught inside the top. After a struggle it released. The rainy day and early season meant no outside swimming or amusement park. The inside pool is small and a lifeguard always on duty, 9:30-9:30. Hot tub is small - sits 6. It's not great. I couldn't see controls anywhere so jets aren't strong. A small baby pool is great for the little ones. It says 1.5 ft deep but more like a foot. The bigger kids really enjoyed the big pool. Dinner at Penleys was ok. The Cobb salad great and chicken nuggets and fries typical. Our son got the brats. He enjoyed them but we both thought the gravy wasn't needed. I would have liked some cooked marks on them. Mac and cheese looked good The only option for breakfast was the buffet. The only gf/df choices were scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit and granola. I have always come to this kid friendly resort with my family twice every year to the Cartoon Network hotel so coming here when the hotel was rebranded to the Dutch Wonderland Inn was our first time and lemme just start off by saying it wasn't great. We had ended up checking in very late at 7:00pm at night and once we got to our Suite that my family and I had payed for we noticed used bed sheets and trash bags sitting in the hallway. We eventually alerted staff and nothing was taken care of until the next morning. Although we did get a discount on our stay I'm not too sure if we will be returning to the Dutch Wonderland Inn again. read more

This old-school amusement park reminded me--in the very best way--of the parks I enjoyed as a kid in the 1970s. Perfect mix of rides and experiences (like the live Daniel Tiger show) for my five-year-old granddaughter. There was only one ride she wasn't tall enough to ride, and that one was a big roller coaster she wasn't interested in anyway. I also loved that there's a small waterpark included in the ticket price and that food prices were much more affordable than "fancier" theme parks. Great day! The park was clean, the staff was friendly, and it has a fun small-town feel. It's definitely geared more toward younger kids than teens-more like Idlewild than Kennywood. We stopped because our Kennywood Platinum Passes worked here, and it was a great way to get even more value from them with free parking and free drinks using our Platinum cups. Dutch wonderland is so much fun for younger kids. I went with my 3 and 6 year olds. They had a blast. My 6 year old could do every ride. My 3 year old could do everything except the 2 roller coasters. The park is small enough to do the whole thing, but large enough you don't feel like you run out of entertainment. They have plenty of character shows, rides, and decent food. It is a bit like an upscale county fair, but perfect for the age group and not over priced. read more

My family and I were in the Philly area and decided to check out Dutch Wonderland. PRO TIP: buy your tickets online! Kids 2 and under are free, but everyone older needs a ticket. I believe it's $39 during peek season, and $29 starting the middle of September because they shut down the water rides. If you were to buy tickets at Dutch Wonderland they charge $75! They do tack on a $3/ticket processing fee for online tickets but it's better than paying full price. You also have to pay $20-25 for parking.". We came here on a Sunday in the middle of September and we didn't have to wait in any lines, which was amazing! We really liked the Kingdom coaster, which is the biggest coaster there. Not too many drops but very bumpy (in a fun way). There was also a great selection for younger kids, which was great! This is a great all-ages park and perfect for kids under 10. I took my 3 year old and he had a blast! Almost all of their rides are for all-ages and have minimal height requirements, so no one in your party has to be left out. Their food offerings are obviously theme park style overpriced, but what can you expect? We went for their "Happy Hauntings" event and felt like they decorated the park quite nicely. However, it was incredibly crowded so the wait times for most rides were very long. I get the feeling that Halloween is one of their busiest times, so i would suggest trying another time of year if crowds concern you. Their website says parking costs extra, but for some reason we were able to park for free. Change in policy? Luck? Miscommunication? I'm not sure. Take my experience with a grain of salt. This is a once or twice a year theme park excursion but I did enjoy it. It's great if you've got littles. read more

We've been here twice now and have had very special memories for our kids (ages 2-4). It could use a bit of a facelift though to justify the cost of the tickets. We love the rides and water park. This is a cute amusement park. Coming here felt super low key after coming off a Disney trip, and this was a great thing. There are plenty of fun rides for kids of different ages. My 3 year old is a bit scared of rides, but still had enjoyed some of the more low key attractions like the spinning tea cups and the train ride. We visited on a super hot day, and the highlight of the trip was Duke's Lagoon. This is a huge outdoor water play / splash pad area. It was way bigger than I expected, and my daughters had a blast splashing around and cooling off. Food options are meh, but as expected at an amusement park. Of course ice cream and all of the sweet treats are abundant, but for savory I'd say to pack a sandwich or something. Parking and check-in is easy and you can be in and out in a few hours no problem. What a wonderful amusement park! I have known about the park for many years but never visited. We decided to take our granddaughters (ages 4 & 2) to the park this past Sunday and we had a great time. We bought the tickets online along with parking pass. Go to the park right before opening (10am). no lines and walked right in. The rights were perfect for them. No lines on any rides. We had a great time in the park Labor Day weekend on Sunday. We got in 30 minutes early since we stayed at the CN hotel which was a great perk. Protip we paid for Groupon addmission and still got in early and saved some money as long as you have the CN hotel band. The park was clean and friendly staff. Easy 30ish dollar parking. Ride selection was good but wish they had more for smaller toddlers. Our 2yo couldn't ride much because she's so tiny. Our 6 year old had a blast. Loved that she could ride the bigger coasters with her dad. Wasn't too busy and lines weren't terrible. Wish we had seen Duke or characters walking around. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of family rides are available. It definitely should be considered a family park rather than a kids park. The Monorail provides great views of the park and parking lot and the Sky Ride goes through the center of the park. Kingdom Coaster is more intense than it looks. Gondola Cruise takes you on a relaxing ride through Exhibition Island while Dragon's Lair takes you around the lake and the lair. The Wonder House gives the illusion you're going upside down, definitely a unique experience. Prehistoric Path is definitely for kids. read more

Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park 2249 Lincoln Hwy E, Lancaster, PA 17602 So I'm not gonna lie I wasn't sure what to think when my wife said let's go to Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA. Doesn't really seem like there's anything there as a quick roadtrip destination, but the fact that this amusement park is geared towards 12 and under and we needed some long overdue family fun we decided to hit the road. Once we arrived, the checking process was super easy because we bought our tickets online. People that were purchasing tickets on site were waiting forever in line . Shout out to my wife for making the arrangements online. We got in and began riding all the kid friendly rides we could fit. First we went on a boat ride and had to identify different characters along the way. We rode the skylift across the park which was relaxing. Once we got off the skylift we went to a BBQ stand to eat and unfortunately that was the only bad part about the park. The burgers weren't real ground beef, they didn't have any of their sides like, and the smoked sausage wasn't very good either. They also ran out of drinks so we had to get kiddie cups of water. After the dissster that was lunch we allowed the girls to ride a bunch of rides that parents couldn't ride with them on. We watched a water show with an evil sorcerer, a king who's princess daughter needed to be saved by the prince that was turned into a frog by the sorcerer because he wanted to marry the princess himself. We were able to finish off the park with a couple of family rides and rollercoasters as well as taking the girls to the gift shop and grabbing some souvenirs. A perfect amusement park for ages little until elementary school age; the next level after storybook land. It was very crowded during Memorial Day weekend and some of the waits were ridiculous -- most of the larger roller coasters were only running one at a time and the food line was really long, but overall had a great time! My special needs families, line up! They have an amazing DAS program and you can bring your wagons! We actually rode a few rides together as a family! There's a restaurant called the, "spud" with chicken fingers and French fries sooo... that checked out picky eaters box! I enjoyed myself on the log flume and the historic Dutch Wonderland house. My only critique would be, skip the iced coffee at the Turkey Hill booth by the entrance. It was the worst I've had. Otherwise, load up the kids and get ready for a fun day! Not sure if the tickets are worth it unless you plan on spending the whole day there... but you really can't with young kids who need naps. The water show is fun, the food is good, but they didn't have one place that served funnel cakes... I found that so odd! Otherwise, they have most food options. Some of the lines are a little too long for little kids to endure. Otherwise, we had a blast and the kids enjoyed most of the rides that they could go on. Note: check their bag limitations. This is a nice family park....ages through elementary school I would say. Rides are fairly sedate in nature and if you have a child who isn't really a rider, this is the place for them. Funny thing is, we have a daredevil going in 3rd grade grandson and a very sedate going into 6th grade grandson. For the most part though, this worked. It was sort of a nutty weather day there with rides closing and opening due to rains. We did manage to get on a number of rides, but the boys got bored with waiting around for things to open. We paid a crazy price to park our truck.....I mean REALLY? So you want us to come to your parks, but you can't put the parking into the ticket prices? This I just don't understand! If we were going again, which I would say we will not be, we would leave and buy food. I think though we will head to our old standby in Elysburg (Shhhhhh! it's still a secret!!) mainly because you don't feel fleeced buying food and it's still FREE parking! We were so shocked at the food situation, at least for this day. Not much was open to select from and the pub we sat wasn't even ready to receive customers at 12 PM. The magic number at this park seemed to end in an 8.....either 18 bucks or 28 bucks. I'd say if you have little people, this is the place for you. There are other places to spend $$$$'s though. I know it does cost to pay and run things, but I also believe there is an area that greed begins to take over. Hershey owns them....guess that says it all. read more

The park has gone downhill in the past couple of decades. Not nearly as beautifully landscaped and well kept as it once was. They also close 2-1/2 hours earlier than in years past. But the most frustrating thing is that I purchased tickets online at the 39.99 Pick A Day price. Didn't go through. Called and was told it was probably flagged for a fraudulent purchase, which is absurd bc I've been using the same computer and credit card for decades. Tried again. Didn't go through. Tried a third time and it went through, but at a price increase of $2/ticket! Called for a refund of the difference and was told "there's nothing we can do." Uh, yes there is. REFUND me the difference that I am owed due to your defective ordering system! Terrible customer service. Very disappointed and won't be going back. And $22 to park!?? read more

I loved this place and had been dying to take my son here forever. My son got confused thinking as we took him to the train ride, that it was a scary rollercoaster (yet he's been on one and loved it, whatever he's on the spectrum lol) so our start was not fun with our boy screaming like instead of a fun amusement park you'd think we were getting shots at the doctor :P he did warm up especially after the like glider ride? Our boy is one of those kids who after like 3 hours is done which is awesome for us, I'd definitely want to come back and explore more of the park I feel like we barely saw/rode much but that's only cause our boy. We drove from the DC metro area to spend a day and a half at Dutch Wonderland. It was about a 2.5 hour drive and we did spend a couple of nights in an air bnb but it was so worth it for my three year old who is newly minted 36 inches tall. Know before you go: you can visit the park for the last three hours of the day before the date of your tickets. This was great because there really is no two day ticket option and the park takes more than one day but less than two. Parking is a fee. Boo. Also know that if you visit the day before your tickets, you either must purchase parking or you will have to purchase parking the following day. The park is really geared to about ages 2-8. My three year old ,who is 36 inches ,could ride most rides with an adult or alone. The water park is very much geared to the younger set as a spray ground and splash pad. Food options are as expected: not great and overpriced. Same with souvenirs. The park seems run down in appearance but my kid absolutely loves it and is already asking to go back. Went for the first time with 3 adults and 4 kids and had a blast- kids ranging from 4 years old to 12 years old and there was something for everyone. Parking (even in the non-preferred) was very close to the entrance still and easy to navigate in and out of- although a little pricey in my opinion $20. The wait times on the rides were very reasonable and there is a great variety to choose from. At one point they even had a dance party with the dragon and princesses in costumes and a bubble machine! Although a lot of the concession stands sold your typical pretzels/ dippin dots/popcorn we did find some good spots (I'll review those separately) but my fave was the pretzel at Penley's Pub! I also liked how they scanned adults IDs and only allowed 4 alcoholic drinks per ID, no obnoxious drunks at the park that is geared to kids! We also had a baby with us that nurses and the nursing facility for moms was GREAT, very clean, had AC (nice break from outside), a changing station and two rooms with rocking chairs to nurse your baby! I was very impressed with the park overall and it was a nice way to spend the day! read more

Is it been a long time since we had been to a a theme park, but after hearing about Dutch Wonderland we figured we definitely needed to check it out. With such an intriguing name and the potential for Amish themed rides, we needed to come up here! Word to the wise, come up here just after school starts so that everything is emptied out and your kids start thinking that you shouldn't have to wait in line for rides at a theme park! This place had a solid number of rides for all ages. Our seven year old discovered that he likes the middle of the road roller coaster in our nine year old enjoys the bigger, faster roller coaster! There were also plenty of small rides for our five-year-old who very much enjoys the self propelled train and anything that looks like an airplane. The bumper cars were fantastic and we also found that the monorail was not worth waiting for. Overall, I totally worthwhile time at a place that wasn't overly expensive and had lots of places to stay around it if you need it. Lots of Amish types places to eat as well as a Chick-fil-A very close by. Word to the Wise, on a Sunday afternoon, make sure that you send somebody to whatever restaurant you want to go to about an hour before you want to go there as everything was packed after the park closed. We visited again this year. They added a puppet show, a couple of new kiddie rides, a panini restaurant, more vending machines and all you can eat pizza and pasta buffet. Also for once, they have limited time combo tickets: admission with buffet for $54.99. Admission is anytime, no need to choose the date. We took advantage of this promotion. But most importantly, the biggest change is they now limit how big your bag is. It has to be measured seam to seam 15x15x15 inches by the book. But reality, security said they will let you in as long as under 17 inches. They actually measure every bags at security checkpoint at entrance. We have a standard backpack measuring seam to seam 17.25 inches. The security lady said we are over 17 inches and told us we can't get in. Seriously? It's a standard backpack and everyone will be having trouble. I saw some very upset visitors being turned away. I talked to the supervisor who gave me one time exception. I told him I came every year. Website should emphasize on main page about this change which will affect lots of people. By the way, they said diaper bag can be an exception. And only soft side cooler 12x12x12 can get in. I saw visitors being turned away also because of hard cooler. They are very strict here. However, I saw a lot of 'exceptions' inside the park, including those foldable push shopping carts and many big backpacks. Anyway, this rule is annoying, especially the lady security turned me away because my bag is 1/4 inches over and it is a standard backpack. Pizza and pasta buffet will cost about $16 regular price. It's open from 12-7 pm. It's theme park food and I have no expectation. I was right. Pasta was undercooked. Salad bar was messy and not refilled quickly. Pizza refill was quick. Soda machine ( drink included) and floor was sticky. Dining floor was sticky. Once in a while, you see a staff cleaning table then disappeared for a while. My kids don't care and said the food was ok. That's all matter. It's convenient and time saving. Less crowd on a summer Sunday. Most rides almost have none to very short line, including monorail. The dino exhibit was very worn out. There are tears on the dino and many mechanics didn't work anymore. Three stars given because all rides were open except one. We didn't watch any shows. The water diving was still popular I saw. Most workers are friendly despite couple of them clearly showed they'd rather die than work here. I'm not kidding. Btw, the water park closes one hour early than the theme park. I knew but I forgot about it. My girl was disappointed. They shut off all the water exactly at the time. Also, parking fees has gone up. General parking is $22. Preferred $27 ( park in front of castle). We bought parking online for $20 ( general). I will still return since my kids had a great time.
