I really like all that they have to offer from, all the choiceFried Mushroomss on the menu and the setup service they have displayed online.

The salad was really good. The lettuce was fresh and very crisp and there were lots of toppings to go with our chef salad. We also had a large Deluxe pizza that was okay. I would have left a better star rating except for the amount of toppings and the mushrooms were canned and not fresh. I prefer to have a lot more toppings on my pizza than this one had. The facility was clean and felt comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient.

There's just no easy way to say this...from the very first bite all the way until I stopped pretending that it didn't, this pizza tasted like and looked like Dominos or some other fast food type pizza. From being somewhat overcooked to the canned-tasting sauce to the meager amount of cheese to the thick, doughy crust, it just wasn't good. The mushrooms were rubbery and squeaked like cheese curds when I chewed them. Dusina's does not even offer garlic as a topping. I should have taken this as a bad sign-- is fresh garlic not a staple in a restaurant that serves pizza and other Italian dishes? Why is garlic not on hand? Don't they cook with it? I feel bad saying all this because the people who work there were really friendly and the price was excellent-- but there is no getting around it--this was my experience. They have a thriving carryout business and really good reviews. This mystifies me. Maybe the locals know something I don't. Or perhaps I know something THEY don't.

I really miss the Cavatini. I wish they would sell it again at least one day a week. I would order about 3 to get me by for the week. :-)

It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.

When anyone asks me where to find the best reuben in Winston, I tell them go to the place that proudly proclaims in their window that they are "The Home of the Reuben" and can back it up... O'Briens! It's a small place, a few outdoor tables, and probably 6-8 inside. They do a lot of to-go business, for good reason. The lunch crowd will never shy away from a sandwich here... of which I have had several. But the reuben indeed stands alone. One of the keys to their success is a happy and engaged staff. The owner, Josh, realizes this and takes great care of them. He believes his success should also be theirs, and that is evident in their demeanor. On to the Reuben. Why is it so good? The pictures really say it all. Corned beef stacked high, with a good ratio of kraut, swiss cheese, deli mustard, and grilled Jewish rye bread. Visually impressive, leads perfectly into orally outstanding. You'll be full and happy, and wondering why you'd order it anywhere else. Not to mention, check them out around St. Patrick's day for traditional Irish stew!

Since I thought they were out, I ordered something else. Instead of just preparing my "backup" sandwich, the gentleman working there surprised me and went above and beyond by making a fresh batch just so I could have the sandwich I wanted. Not to mention this was during the lunch rush. That kind of service is incredibly rare and speaks volumes about how much they care about their customers. The Pollo sandwich was absolutely delicious. I have been wanting to try it and I'm so glad I did! I highly recommend Ferrucci's to anyone looking for authentic Italian food and genuine hospitality!

At lunchtime on Saturday there was a line to order sandwiches but it moved pretty quickly. The meats, peppers, seasoning, and bread far surpass anything you'd get at a chain sub shop. Half a sandwich filled me up which meant I got to enjoy the rest for lunch the next day. Between cold cuts, paninis, and hot sandwiches there are a variety of sandwich options. Grab one of the tables inside or sit at a table on the sidewalk on a nice day and enjoy a great lunch at Ferrucci's.

That's a mistake because, like me, you'll get addicted to the stuff. It's AWESOME. I picked up this tub of their "hot" at Priddy's General Store in Danbury. No mistake, it was excellent. We were lucky enough to meet Lee, the current owner and a direct descendant of the original founder. He generously shared stories about the store's history, from when it housed the second freezer in North Carolina (the first was in Kinston!) to the days when families rented freezer space because most homes didn't have one. One of the coolest details? The original fireproof cases behind the counter, where customers' monthly account slips were once kept. Lee has even saved some of those old papers--tangible pieces of history you don't often find in a working grocery today. Along with the history, the service was outstanding. Lee was kind and welcoming, and Howie, a young employee, went out of his way to be friendly and helpful. That personal touch makes all the difference. Of course, you can't leave without trying their famous homemade specialties. We picked up some of their pimento cheese, chili and cucumber salad--they were absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The store also has a small meat counter and coolers stocked with local favorites. Conrad & Hinkle isn't just a grocery store--it's an experience. Whether you're a Lexington local or just passing through, make time to stop in. You'll get a taste of history, hospitality, and some of the best Southern specialties around. Highly recommended!
