You know what? That's a darn good gyro. This place is trying to be a Chipotle-style restaurant for gyros and Greek food, and it does a decent job of that. The food is solid. The gyro probably deserves to be the best in Cincinnati, probably. There's not a whole lot of seating in the place, so plan accordingly. HUGE disappointment... My husband and I got a side of falafels, a chicken platter, and a gyro sandwich. First off, the falafels weren't crispy and they put some yogurt sauce over it that made the falafels even more soggy! The chicken platter basically was a bed of 3 different types of salads with salty chicken over it and a bit of hummus. The chicken platter needed rice or something to balance out the flavors a bit. Everything on the platter was just too salty and tangy and there was nothing to counter balance those flavors. The chicken was nothing special. It was just like chicken breast meat cut into pieces and then seasoned a bit. It tasted like something my husband and I make at home all the time. no biggy. Lastly the gyro sandwich. This sandwich was a mess! There was WAY too much meat in it for it to even be considered a sandwich - it was impossible to hold and eat! The meat again was too salty and the proportion of meat to sauce and meat to veggies was just OFF! I have to give one thing to them.... they are not shy on their meat portions, but the workers were really brash and rude and we just did not like their food. I have to say this is one of the best Gyro's I have ever had! It is a little higher price than some of the places I been but for the amount of food and the quality, it is well worth it. It is sad that it is a little far from my house but next time I am in the area, I would love to stop in again. read more

I must be the one weirdo in the bunch. I went here based off of all of the awesome yelp reviews and maybe my expectations were a bit too high but it was just a bit meh. Part of that may be my fault - I went with Gyro meat but I got it on lettuce vs a pita but it was just...fine. I thought the meat could have definitely had more flavor, as well as the tzatziki. Plus I felt like the meat was a bit skimpy portion wise (again, maybe because I got it on lettuce vs. in a pita). If it came down to it, I'd hit up Areti's in Findley or Chicago Gyro in Clifton before Durum. I do want to give this place another shot though and I'll update my review if anything changes! read more

So so good. An unexpected place in a random strip of businesses in Blue Ash but GREAT gyros. They're huge, filled with food. The gyro meat is sliced off the rotisserie, which always indicates to me that it's authentic and will be delicious. They then throw it on the flat top to crisp it up. You can add any toppings you want (normal tomato, feta, onion, sauce, but also banana peppers, olives, etc.). Their tzatziki sauce is the bomb. Not just yogurt with a ton of dill and cucumber. Legit tzatziki. They do charge $0.50 for their pop though! Used to be free, so just a heads up on that change. Still, that's super cheap. read more

Went here after hearing the great reviews. Unfortunately waiting 35 minutes already had my a tad weary. I asked the front register to please place no dairy of any on anything i was purchasing. As a person who eats plant based this was discouraging to notice the feta cheese on my wrap. Told me to come back after wasting half an hour on my lunch time. I went to this restaurant for the first time on July 20th where I had the steak gyro and tried falafel for the first time. My wife was with me and she had the chicken gyro. We're both quite adventurous when it comes to trying different things and had never had traditionally made gyros before. I must say, this place has converted me to traditional Middle Eastern food without a doubt. The gyro I had was fresh, the bread soft without being too soft. The vegetables were crisp and the tzatziki was amazing. The falafel was piping hot from the fryer, it had a crunchy exterior giving way to a fluffy green interior that was expertly seasoned throughout. Dip that falafel into the sauce provided and you are in heaven. Inside the restaurant was clean and inviting. Minimal decoration, but enough to create an air of the Mediterranean. The staff is friendly and welcomed us warmly. My second taste of this great restaurant was take out that I just had the pleasure of finishing. There are a lot of restaurants out there that make great food in the restaurant itself but their take out leaves much to be desired. With the exception of the less than perfect falafel(but I'm well aware of the difficulties in making fried food that can withstand being packaged for take out so I give it a pass), everything tasted just as amazing as in the restaurant. This time I had the shawarma and now I know why Tony Stark wanted it so bad. Because its @#$%*&^! awesome. You are doing yourself a disservice if you do no try this place, and soon. read more

Small restaurant but really friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was having a rough day and Liz was a pleasure to talk to. The gyro was just okay. There was a lot of meat, maybe even too much. The overflowing meat and sauce made it pretty messy to eat. I would have preferred a little less meat, and more feta cheese. Also, the other reviews kept mentioning the meat being crispy, but I was not served crispy gyro meat, it was soft and lukewarm. The tabouli had bottled lemon juice, which is an unforgivable shortcut in my opinion. There are better Mediterranean restaurants in this area, I'd skip this one. read more

I'm always trying to find new and different things to eat so I saw this place opened near my office and really wanted to check it out. I don't know much about gyros and truly believed I didn't like them. I was interested in other items such as hummus and baba ganoush (both are super by the way) so I wanted to see what they had to offer. Something made me order a gyro just to try it.......and I've had at least 5 since then. OMG they're so good. The meat is very flavorful and you get a very hearty portion. Also the different salads they put on the gyros are so fresh and good. Overall everything I've had is very fresh and delicious. It's priced mid-range but I don't mind paying if I like what I receive. I hope more and more people find out about this place so they will have plenty of business. Don't know what I'll do if they were gone! If you're curious at all, go. You will like it. The kind of place you can eat at 2 days straight (trust me). I found out about this place last month. I could smell the gyro my co worker was eating from across the hall. I was shocked when I actually peeked in and saw what he was eating. "Where did you get that?" and that is how I found out about Durum Grill. The staff is incredibly friendly, the portions are huge, and the ingredients are fresh. It's high quality food at a very reasonable price. You can have your steak burrito from Chipotle. I came in on a Saturday evening to grab some takeout. There was only 1 other customer inside. Lots of great reviews here so given the location my guess is they do a lot of business at lunch during the week. I ordered the gyro platter to go. It included a very generous portion of gyro meat which was tender but with some crispy edges...my fav. Also included was a small side of rice (great flavor), salad (lettuce, matchstick carrots, purple cabbage and sliced tomatoes) hummus and pita. It was enough for 2. Service was great. This is a very good place to grab a quick bite! I am a big fan of gyros and Durum Grill has great ones! I got one with onions and tomatoes, with feta, and it was delicious. The amount of the kebab itself on the sandwich is amazing--lots of tender, well seasoned meat. The cacik sauce is very fresh and tastes great with the meat.
