For context, they painted the interior or of our entire home - walls, trim, and ceiling. The team knew how to work with high end paint and transformed a set of drab, beige, poorly textured, and banged up walls. They sanded the walls to manage the texture, worked expertly with tricky corners, managed complex work with dry wall to address dings and structural oddities. They are not just incredible painters - they are also amazing project managers and partners. The team managed our paint job while we traveled, but our furniture and floors were kept pristine (despite our 0% prep for them). When they ran out of paint (because I insisted on getting it and didn't get enough!), they reached out. When I didn't get back to them soon enough, they went to the store and perfectly matched the color, no VOC, and other specifications. Wilmer is warm, personable, proactive, and an excellent person to have on your team as a part of the work to transform your space! His team is also wonderful, expert, and easy to be around (I know, because i hired them for a second job and this time didn't leave town). Feel free to reach out to me with questions. Highly recommend Herbert and his crew. I had a large-scale project that took a little over two…read moreweeks, and they handled it flawlessly. Here's a breakdown of the work: - Finished construction of an unfinished basement - Herbert guided me through the entire floor plan, explaining the electrical layout, wall placements, and ideal appliance orientation - Built a kitchen from scratch -- excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail - Painted the entire house, including ceilings, walls, floors, and even the garage They completed all of this in just over two weeks, working 7 days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM. The quality of the work was outstanding. Herbert was reliable, responsive, and extremely accommodating. I had multiple change requests during the job, and he handled all of them without hesitation. After getting several quotes, Herbert's pricing was the most competitive. All work was completed to code and with professionalism. If you're looking for a skilled, jack-of-all-trades contractor, Herbert is your guy. He brings in specialists for larger tasks (electrical, plumbing, landscaping, etc.) and manages the project seamlessly. I'll definitely be calling him for future work on my properties and strongly recommend him to others.

Save your money, your home, and your peace of mind and look elsewhere. Here is exactly what you can expect if you hire them: Incomplete Work: The job was abandoned before it was finished. The walls in my bathroom and laundry room are literally only half-painted. Property Damage & Sloppiness: The crew didn't even bother to use painter's tape. As a result, there is paint splattered all over my baseboards. Outrageous Behavior: I have security cameras inside and outside of my house. The footage clearly shows their crew drinking and smoking inside my home for the entire duration of the job. Zero Accountability: When I reached out to management with the camera footage to get this mess resolved, they refused to take any responsibility. Instead of apologizing or offering to fix the damage, they got "smart," dismissive, and incredibly rude. It is completely unacceptable to take someone's money, treat their home like a bar, ruin their baseboards, and then act incredibly unprofessional when confronted with video proof. Avoid this business at all costs.

We suggested that he turn off the circuit breaker but he said there was no need. He took the light switch off and got shocked. Mike continued and the lights went on. We Venmoed him $140 for time and labor. Twelve hours later, the LR ceiling lights went out along with two lamps that had been working perfectly before Mike's repair. We called him. He told us to buy another replacement switch and said he would return to fix it. He didn't We e-mailed him three times, asking that he refund the money we paid. It's now July 8th. He has never answered. We have hired a licensed electrician to ensure Mike's fix did not make the wiring unsafe, install new wiring if it isn't, to repair the light switch and the blown outlets. We intend to pursue this further and, should we ever receive the refund due us, we will add an update. We cannot recommend Renaissance Handyman & Painting and hope this review saves someone else a bad experience.

Mike did an amazing job repairing our leaky basement window! I reached out via email to show some…read morepictures of the damage. He replied back with an estimate and some times he could come out. He showed up on time, examined the window with me and laid out a plan for the repair. After working on it for a bit he brought me back down for an update: there was a lot more water damage than we expected. We made a new plan to replace more of the frame. There were a couple more surprises that kept expanding the job (more rotten wood, an old rats nest in the wall above the removed window, brick damage caused by the rotten beam bowing and not supporting the bricks above the window properly). The job ended up being a lot bigger and more expensive than expected (2.5 day job rather than 0.5 day; billing is by the hour and very straightforward), but I couldn't be happier with the work and the process. Rather than a quick patch job I ended up with a solid, long-term fix. Here are a few more reflections on working with Mike: -Great communication. Mike gave me frequent updates, walking me through what he found and what the options were. -I never felt like I was being upsold. Mike was very collaborative and empathetic when showing me problems and discussing solutions. -Mike's knowledge and skillset goes deep. If this had been a simple window sealant job with a frame board replacement I'm sure he (and probably lots of other handymen) would handle it great. But as we peeled back the onion and found more complexity it became clear how well he understands houses and how to make them work the way they're supposed to. Mike and Renaissance will definitely be my go-to for future handyman / painting / renovations needs. Thank you Mike!
