I was really impressed with how cleanly they worked and their attention to detail. As the daughter of a carpenter, I have high standards and am really pleased with how our projects turned out. Communication with the owner was exceptional from start to finish. No long wait times, no back-and-forth delays--just clear, prompt, and professional responses that made coordination effortless. What impressed me most was their ability to perform under extremely challenging conditions. With 25-30 mph wind gusts and a three-story exterior to paint, I fully expected delays. Instead, they performed absolute magic. Their precision, attention to detail, and commitment to getting the job done safely and correctly were remarkable. This project was for one of our premier rentals in Alexandria, and the final result looks fantastic. I would absolutely use JZ Painting again for future projects and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others looking for a reliable, high-quality painting crew. Wilmer and his team are incredible…read more The team was detail oriented, incredible communicators, proactive and thoughtful, and cared for our home as if it was their own. For context, they painted the interior or of our entire home - walls, trim, and ceiling. The team knew how to work with high end paint and transformed a set of drab, beige, poorly textured, and banged up walls. They sanded the walls to manage the texture, worked expertly with tricky corners, managed complex work with dry wall to address dings and structural oddities. They are not just incredible painters - they are also amazing project managers and partners. The team managed our paint job while we traveled, but our furniture and floors were kept pristine (despite our 0% prep for them). When they ran out of paint (because I insisted on getting it and didn't get enough!), they reached out. When I didn't get back to them soon enough, they went to the store and perfectly matched the color, no VOC, and other specifications. Wilmer is warm, personable, proactive, and an excellent person to have on your team as a part of the work to transform your space! His team is also wonderful, expert, and easy to be around (I know, because i hired them for a second job and this time didn't leave town). Feel free to reach out to me with questions. In addition, he took care of about 10 other little things that needed fixing. As always, Diaz was the best contractor we've ever encountered. He came right out for a free estimate. He gave us constructive advice on the proposed work. His crew got started right away - they were reliable, on time, courteous, and cleaned up impeccably each day. Diaz stuck to his estimate. In addition to all these positive traits, one of the best things is that Diaz and his team can literally take care of anything. You will not have to rely on a subcontractor or having to call somebody else - he does painting, flooring, kitchens, doors/windows, drywall work, tiling, bathrooms, etc. He even has his own tree guy and electrician for when those things come up. He doesn't just do everything, but everything is done to a very high standard. Nothing he's ever done at our home is short of perfect. We are never going with anybody else - if you need anything done in (or around) your house in the DMV, Diaz is your man!

Both jobs are stunning and worth every penny! Selvin is straight-forward and honest with his pricing and walks you through the entire job. When I asked if they were able to do something his response was "you're the boss!" Selvin's team is prompt and hard-working, showing up on time every day ready to work. I had to reschedule my flooring job with short notice for a trip out of state and they were able to squeeze me in a week earlier than originally scheduled. It was a tight schedule, only four days for the whole basement, but they were able to get the job done early! I couldn't recommend City Painters more for all of your remodeling needs! He checked in with us every morning AND evening to explain what work was going to be done and ask any outstanding questions. He was knowledgeable in helping us make decisions and select products. The team was equally awesome. They worked so hard to get the project done on schedule, even after adding some additional items. They were very skilled but also very professional. I loved how each day they cleaned up--throwing away the trash, organizing the tools, moving items off to the side. This level of effort showed that they not only respected their work, but they respected our home. It can be hard to find a good contractor. I am so grateful that we found Selvin, Jovani, and the City Painters team. I will take them with me wherever we go and hire them for whatever project we decide to tackle next. Thank you! Thank you!
