A clog in our drain line caused a big leak and part of the plaster ceiling above my carport collapsed. Selvin finished my above-garage space, adding insulation and drywall. Selvin's crew did a fantastic job and wrapped up in a few days. From the beginning, communication was really easy with Selvin. He was really trustworthy and honest. I initially was interested in refinishing a basement space too and he gave me frank and very much needed advice that this was a complicated project (due to utilities and ductwork) that would cost more than it's worth. Most contractors never give this type of advice so I was pleasantly surprised. Selvin's quote was very competitive and beat out my other quote by a few thousand dollars. The other quote was probably high, because that company had done some other work for me and probably assumed they were the only quote. What really stands out though is his reliability. Months after the project completed, I finished painting (did it myself to save money), but a switch plate was missing (probably my fault). We needed drywall patch up as well as painting entire walls and ceiling in the great room - the ceiling is a cathedral ceiling, so it was pretty tricky to paint, and there was A LOT of drywall work to do after removing/installing new lights. Selvin and the crew did an excellent job, ceiling looks seamless and amazing, you can't tell there were 3 big holes previously. We also had an unfortunate event in the kitchen, and had to fix the ceiling with water damage. Turns out the ceiling wasn't drywall, but they were able to pivot and fix the issues quickly, and painted the entire ceiling in the kitchen. Again, it looks seamless and I really appreciate their professional opinions and their workmanship. They are also on top of communication,so I didn't have to sit around wondering. Selvin was quick to reply even after hours with a quote, and just needed some pictures and a Matterport link to get a full picture of the apartment before offering a very competitive price. He and his team were flexible on color and asked for the color decision by the morning of. Everything ended up coming out well - he asked me to check on the apartment while it was in progress and it was about half before (paint cost) and half payment after. From the very beginning, Selvin responded incredibly quickly and gave us a very reasonable quote to paint my entire 2 bed 2 bath condo in Gaithersburg. I have cathedral ceilings, and while we didn't opt for the highest ceilings to be painted, they painted everything else, from the trim to the walls to all the doors. They also patched holes in the ceiling that were caused by the nails in the roof, AND they helped remove and patch the ceiling fan in the cathedral ceiling that I never used and that posed a possible threat since it looked like the nails were getting loose.
