He was very communicative, not only professionally, but friendly as well. He was very upfront with price assurances based on my square footage and promotional pricing, etc. When I informed Rick, I was still in talks with a secondary provider, he warmly assured, "let me know and we will get you all taken care of like family." This proclamation was enough for me to know who I wanted to hire. When it came time to schedule, Rick had immediate dates available. But once I asked to not start until two days after the immediate date provided, to allow me more time to empty out my garage, Rick accommodated. I was very satisfied and excited. The technician, Jesse, arrived within the timeframe promised on the schedule date. Jesse presented himself very professionally. He explained each step of his process and what he will be doing in a very knowledgeable and professional manner (to the point where I had limited questions and no concerns). Jesse was able to work independently without bothering our day-to-day life until it was absolutely necessary. We discussed in detail the shape of the pad we wanted and how we wanted it to match our pool surrounding with the acrylic overcoating. Ben acted like it was an easy request and didn't voice or show any concern. He then gave us a quote of $800 - $1000 verbally. Said they would call to schedule his concrete guy to come out over the weekend or first of the next week. Never heard from him until 4 days later, when I received the quote which was several hundred dollars higher than the quote range he gave verbally in our yard. Against my better judgment, I trusted him and approved the portion of the quote I wanted to move forward with. I asked when the approved portion of the job could be done. I was told he needed to check with his concrete guy. A week later, on Nov 3, I finally get a text at 7:22pm stating they will be out the next morning at 9am. I wasn't asked if this time worked for me, which would have been appropriate based on how quickly they were coming. When Ben arrived at my house with the concrete guy, his demeanor was completely different. He would hardly look me in the eye, was rude, condescending and smirking. He was acting as if we hadn't even discussed the details of the project. We absolutely did so during his first visit when he was friendly, courteous and kind. The whole encounter was very strange based on the complete change in his attitude, behavior and demeaning treatment. In addition, Ben also acted as if our request for a rounded 7' X 5' pad was a much more difficult project than he had first indicated. The following day -November 4th, I received a text with and updated estimate. This estimate was over THREE TIMES the initial quote. I was shocked. We went from a quote range of $800-$1000 to a new price of over $3,000. I responded to him sharing my shock regarding this new quote. His response was completely inadequate and unacceptable. Luckily I had downloaded both quotes because as soon as I called him out on his dishonesty, he went into his system and deleted the quotes. Talk about red flag! He was knowingly trying to rip us off after initialy seeming so honest. He then went on to blame his concrete guy as if he himself had no idea how much concrete cost. Are you kidding me? What kind of business is this? CONCRETE is part of your business name and you're telling me you have no idea how much the concrete will cost for a small 7 X 5 pad? Wow. Shady. Be aware that your first quote from llustrious Concrete will be meaningless. Instead, save yourself from dealing with this guy and don't get a quote at all.

We asked him to give us a few measurements and looking at vinyl, tile, carpet and even our kitchen backsplash. We also got a quote for new baseboards. We got other quotes, but we didn't feel the level of service and honesty was there as much as it was with Atomic Construction. So after we decided to trust Atomic Construction with the project, I was texting a lot of different opinions with Luke and he responded in a timely manner. My wife kept changing her mind on what exactly we wanted and Luke and Adam (owner) were PROFESSIONAL throughout the process. We ultimately decided to get the flooring from Floor and Decor as my wife loved a specific one. We also purchased the tiles from there for the wet areas and had Adam and his crew pick them up. The project started on the day Adam committed and finished on the same timeline that I was given. They installed vinyl plank, tile, baseboards and a backsplash for us at a very competitive price. What I got was denial, blame and an attack on my integrity. They know how to do their work. They know less about taking reasonable care in their work. I had a tile removal company come out to help me set up for new flooring. Under the tile was a…read morelinoleum layer with thinset that was mixed too aggressively and made it very difficult to remove. The first company bailed on me because they were afraid of damaging the wood under the linoleum. I tried every DIY option and tool I could think of and just wanted to pull my hair out. I got a hold of Andrew and explained the situation. He made arrangements to work with my time crunch and came out and did an AMAZING job!!! This guy saved me so much work and time. He cleaned up even in areas where he wasn't working and was very friendly and personable. I can't recommend him enough.
