Having had several unproductive encounters elsewhere in addressing nagging issues, Sanjoy stands in contrast through being deeply invested in listening and giving you focused treatment. He's really perceptive while building off the feedback you're giving him, so if you keep him in the loop about how you're feeling he can laser in on issues. You can expect a focus on evidence-based approaches, paired with a guiding northstar of preventative and holistic care. I've also been treated by his staff (namely Sam) and its clear that this standard of care is office-wide. When I go its like seeing old friends rather than reporting to a doctor's office. As I continue to both run and do jiujitsu, I feel like there's always an open door if something comes up. In the meantime he's helped me get past about 4 acute conditions.

When you walk into the waiting room there's about four plush leather chairs to sit and relax in while you wait. The place seems pretty new, it's spacious to do different types of exercises. There's a wall of mirrors, lots of different types of machines, patient tables lined up, and they also have private rooms to treat certain patients with certain request like me, women's health. The Physical Therapist that I'm seeing is Rebecca Johnson. I absolutely love this lady! They have a nice website and you can see the PTs and their bios too. She's a very nice lady, friendly, and she listens to you. She specializes in women's health (certification as a Functional Manual Therapist™ through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) which I'm looking for! Keep in mind, it's more than a PT session for me. I felt like I was at my OBGYN office. In the Philippines, there are special healers that does manipulation of soft tissues and organs called Heliot. And I've found someone whose pretty close to what I need and her name is Rebecca. If you have reproductive, bladder, hip, or even stomach issues, just several visits with her, she can really get the job done! I feel like she has healing hands, seriously! I've been to another PT office years ago for a knee injury and all I got out of it was sessions with a PT watching me doing exercises which I thought it would be the same thing here, but I was wrong thank goodness! Rebecca taught me how I should sit in front of my computer, she educates me on certain clothing that I shouldn't wear that could impact my female organs, and she even taught me how to "walk" again...the right way. Who knew, really I'm not walking correctly!?! I get a lot out of my 1 hour sessions sometimes it's longer depending on my treatment that day or how long of time I have. I like that they show me what I need to do at home (my exercises program) the right way, thanks cause I'm NOT going to remember all of that when I get home! I like the fact she has late hours too that I can see her after work. She has other folks who work with you during your therapy as well. It's a great team effort. So, if you want more than just a PT watching you do exercises on a machine for an hour, get your moneys worth and check this place out! Your body will thank you for it:)

Bad Medical Practice (you may want to read this monologue)…read more To begin with, I am a Ph.D. Neuroscientist who have trained many doctors. On 6th April I had an appointment with Laura Valentine, DPT. During the time of the appointment, I was told by Dr. Valentine that a student (an intern) will be doing "most of the therapy" and she would be there to keep an eye on. I was OK with the plan, as being a Professor in a medical school this is common practice. While I was there I realized Dr. Valentine had another patient during the same time and she started working with that patient. Something we typically call "double booking". That was the first red flag. The remaining of my session which included the all-important musculoskeletal exam was just with that intern, which Dr. Valentine never counter-examined. At the end of the session, she mentioned I would be mainly handled by the intern. I was clearly unhappy with the way things were happening. However, I still wanted to continue with the remaining sessions. Day 2: I was greeted by that intern and the entire session was by her. Dr. Valentine dropped in, only to say that she had a busy day and she is taking care of patients who needs pelvic therapy. Any patient in my place would perceive as that another patient actually needs her attention and I could be taken care of by an intern. So, I did not see Dr. Valentine at all! I had a condition, which neither Dr. Valentine nor the intern could sense well. Still the intern tried manual manipulation and in doing that she made my condition a lot worse. So worse, that I had to immediately go back to my specialist. Being in the medical profession for 12 years, I have never seen a clinical center as irresponsible as Body Gears, Wheaton! If you see the "Plan of Care" you would realize even that is not signed by Dr. Valentine. It is signed by an intern with "SPT" credential, assuming that is "Student PT". In any serious medical business that will be counted as medical MALPRACTICE. I have blurred out the student PT's signature, to protect her identity. I still feel this is not something I could hold the intern responsible for, this is rather a complete lack of seriousness in Body Gears in treating patients.

I called to make appointments and the receptionist was so nice and polite she made so easy and schedule four appointments to meet our schedule. Upon arrival we were greeted and promptly help. I did forget to bring the secondary insurance and asked them if I can fax it to them they assure me no problem bring it next time. At the waiting area they have new magazines. I like that a lot because I don't like reading old outdated magazines. The receptionist are so nice and courteous that is welcoming. The rehabilitation service here at CDH on the fifth floor offers physical, occupational and speech service and also they have the pediatrics section at the same floor. I noted that the facilitators are specially nice to the kids that come for their therapy. The staff cares so much for the elderly too. As I was waiting for my husband to go in a patient was waiting for the person to wheel him down to his parking place. The receptionist was very polite to him making sure he was well accommodated and saying jokes to him very sweet of her. The appointments are right on schedule and the therapist that was late for the seniors did called that he was stock on traffic and apologized for his delayed. The receptionist make it so easy they print out the schedules and give you a folders for your personal therapy appointments.

I sought services from DPT Evanston after my second total knee replacement. My case was not simple…read moreand straightforward as I had crushing headaches and recurring issues with the first knee. I was assigned to Allison. To Michael K.'s and Chuck H.'s comments, I can will add that Allison's best skills include thinking on her feet and problem-solving. We were able to pursue the goals of my treatment plan despite interruptions from the headaches and issues with the first knee. I liked that I had to work very hard under her care. Nonetheless, I sometimes didn't feel heard, as I rarely finished answering her questions, which came at me at a rapid fire pace. I didn't receive the encouragement I needed until I asked, and there were few pleasantries, which left me regretting that my other issues were a constant source of frustration. Ultimately, I chose to find care elsewhere. Allison is extremely competent technically. She is intelligent and confident. Often, however, patients need more from a therapist in order to complete a treatment plan. Like Michael K., I also received help from Ben. He has a positive and steady temperament, and is very helpful and professional. I hope in time he gets his full credentials as he would be very good with patient care. The Evanston location also had up and coming interns/parttime help in Quin, Will, and Zoe. They had great energy and were a pleasure to work with!
