I had a great experience with Dunright for my new AC and heating system installation. From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.     Karol & Aldo did an amazing job on installing my new AC in my home. Guillermo was professional, worked with my schedule and got everything set up and finished in a timely manner. Big shout out to Aldo and Karol who were working in our hot attic and installed everything professionally. They made sure to not cut corners and make sure the customer is happy. They're both friendly, answered my questions and were non stop at work to get the job done by themselves. You guys are awesome. My home is finally nice and cool! Would definitely recommend them!     Gill came out and gave me a bid on replacing my AC and heater. He quoted me the best value for my price range. The day of installation He and his crew came out on time and were very professional and polite. They did an excellent job replacing my air conditioner and heater They installed heating insulation in my heater closet Also did a clean install of the air conditioner outside of my home . After everything was done Gill, went through everything they did and I was impressed. As you can see in the pictures Clean installation, You will be impressed with his whole crew , As for value You can count on it Dunright to get it done right the 1st time . PUNCTUALITY 7. THOROUGH EVALUATION We met with the following specialists: SEAN O'HARA (AC repair) - AC stopped emitting cool air. Fixed issue w/ filter repair. ALFRED BIRNHAUPL (AC leak repair) - Fixed pipe leak from AC and completed comprehensive assessment of our dysfunctional zoning system. DOMENICK ALONGE (project manager) - Reviewed findings from Alfred, provided detailed indication of issues and resolution options with several quotes. Here's why our experience has been superior to previous companies: All three specialists were not only punctual, friendly, and courteous, but they took their time to evaluate our issues in CLEAR layman terms corroborated by photos, and showing us exactly where the problems were in person. We previously obtained a quote from a large corporate company and was left feeling dumbfounded and stressed as they described the nature of our problem in engineering, technical jargon that made absolutely no sense, including astronomical quotes without explanation of the work entailed. We continued experiencing intermittent issues with our AC and heater so we called Friends & Family based on their excellent reviews. This time around, with Friends & Family, we left feeling knowledgeable and reassured, with reasonable quotes including various discount eligibility. We didn't feel pressured by them to choose one route vs. the other; rather, gained the information we needed to make an informed decision that would prevent such issues in the future. Overall, their attention to detail, ability to explain the issues and resolution routes in simple, concrete terms, were far superior than the preceding company. They exceeded our expectations and we much appreciated their patience and openness to answering all our questions. I also want to mention that I was gardening when SEAN was fixing our AC. He saw me struggling to dig a hole for my plant and volitionally offered to help me. He took the extra time to dig the hole for me, exemplifying his genuine kindness and generosity! Similarly, my kids were running amuck and screaming and shouting while I attempted to maintain a conversation with ALFRED. He was very understanding and continued to engage in conversation, appearing unbothered by the chaos with a pleasant disposition. Lastly, DOMENICK was appointed on the day of our son's birthday. He related to us interpersonally and even helped assemble my son's new Radio Flyer bike! I told him that Sean also helped me garden and we laughed about how Friends & Family is a "one-stop shop." Given everything I mentioned, we're excited to have our overdue AC/heater system fully repaired by Friends & Family. We can't wait for our longstanding issues to be behind us, and we anticipate leaving an updated review once the work is complete!

My air conditioner went out years ago and they changed it out. At the time they also wanted to do my furnace I told them no which my furnace was still good for another couple years and then they came back changed a part on it saving me a little money but the. It went out so I had to shell up the big bucks for it. The value here I do think is better than other places but I wish they would work on the upsell a little bit because times are tough and we don't need that but I do trust this company for things I do need.

    **WARNING: Expensive HVAC system failing after only 4.5 years**…read more I paid $15,000 for a new HVAC system from Northstar Heating and Air in July 2021, and it's already failing due to airflow and drainage issues that appear to go back to the original installation. The company was asking $950 (or possibly more) to repair it without fixing the root cause, and my attempts to reach a supervisor have gone unanswered. I cannot recommend this company unless you get everything clearly documented upfront. Here's the full story: I was informed that the system failed due to inadequate airflow--something that should have been identified and addressed during installation. Over the years, the system was serviced multiple times by technicians from the same company. At no point was I clearly informed that this issue could lead to system failure or required urgent correction. On one visit, airflow was mentioned and an additional intake was suggested; however, this was several years after installation and was not communicated as a serious issue or something that could lead to system failure or require urgent correction. I have also since learned that the drainage pipe was installed incorrectly, which raises serious concerns about the quality and completeness of the original installation. I began noticing water dripping and a bluish mineral/calcium buildup around the drainage pipe, which made it clear something was not right. My concern is that improper drainage can lead to water damage, system inefficiency, and additional component issues over time. I was also told that the TXV (thermal expansion valve) has now failed and needs to be replaced. My concern is that this failure may be related to the ongoing airflow and drainage issues that were never properly addressed, rather than normal wear and tear. Now that the system has failed, the company was asking for $950 to repair the damage, but the cost could increase depending on how long the repair takes, adding further uncertainty about the total expense. The technician also mentioned that the labor warranty isn't covered after 5 years--but the system hasn't even reached that point yet (July 2026), so it seems unreasonable to charge for repairs that should still be covered under the warranty period. This is especially frustrating given that the underlying issues appear to trace back to the original installation. Because I no longer trusted this company to properly fix the system, I hired a trusted HVAC technician who was able to repair the issues, including addressing airflow and drainage problems, for a flat $900. This made it clear that the original quote and approach from Northstar were not reasonable or necessary. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this directly with Northstar Heating and Air. A supervisor or manager returned a call while I was at work and I missed it. My husband returned the call and left a message, but it was not answered. I then called again the following day, left a detailed message requesting a callback, and still have not received any response. The lack of follow-up and communication has only added to my frustration. At this point, my concern is not just the cost, but the overall lack of accountability and transparency regarding both the installation and the handling of this issue. I trusted this company's expertise to properly design, install, and maintain the system, and that trust has not been upheld. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this company ask detailed questions about airflow evaluation, system design, and installation practices--and get everything clearly documented in writing before moving forward.

    This was my second time using MSP after reading many of their positive reviews and knowing they are…read morea local, small business -- which I always gravitate toward when selecting services. The first time, the technician had placed a sticker on our AC unit, so when cold air stopped flowing this time, it was easy to call them. The process was effortless: customer service answered right away, their system recognized my address from my phone number, and within an hour (on a Sunday evening!) they dispatched two technicians. I also appreciated getting a text notification with their names and photo IDs so I knew exactly who was coming. The diagnosis wasn't the news we wanted to hear -- it was time to replace our 12-year-old AC unit. We had already refurbished the motor last year, which gave us one more season, but it had truly reached the end of its life. What I appreciated most was that we never felt pressured into buying a new unit, even though it was recommended. The technicians walked us through our options: spending over half the cost on a refurbished unit with no warranty or going with a brand-new system that came with one. After thoughtful discussion, both between my husband and me, and with the technicians, we decided to move forward with MSP's recommendation and financed the new unit. The paperwork process was smooth, and they were even able to secure an installation appointment for the very next day. As a thoughtful touch, they even offered us a hotel stay to avoid the heat, though we decided to wait. The next day, two installation crews arrived right on time. One worked in the attic while the other installed the unit outside. Both were courteous, respectful, and professional throughout. The real reason I give MSP five stars, beyond their product and service, is how they handled aftercare -- and the glimpse I got of how well they treat their employees. After installation, my husband noticed the duct bracket hadn't been done exactly as he'd requested. Since we have a Belgian Malinois who chews on everything, he wanted the cables covered with a custom metal bracket, which had been discussed with the technician. Clearly, there was a miscommunication. I called the next day and spoke with Bella (the manager, I believe). She explained that this was technically outside their scope, but she listened carefully, acknowledged the issue, and immediately sent her crew back the same day to resolve it. I appreciated that she didn't get defensive, but instead valued our input and honored our trust. Finally, I want to applaud MSP for the way they treat their employees. All four team members who helped us mentioned how much they enjoy working there, and it shows in the quality of their work. On top of that, we were thrilled to learn that the X Series unit we purchased is the kind of product that could be sold at a much higher rate through a corporate AC company (according to one technician who used to work at a corporate), but MSP offered it at a fair and reasonable price. That kind of transparency and value is rare. I truly believe happy employees and fair business practices translate into happy customers, and this company is proof of that. I wish them continued prosperity.
