I wasn't totally familiar with Dunn Edwards but it kept being mentioned to me by contractors that I spoke with about painting projects. When I needed to repaint interior walls, I initially wanted to use the same brand that the builder used over a decade ago, but I was told that Dunn Edwards paint is high quality and the painters preferred material. They're also able to match pretty much any color of you bring them a clean sample at least an inch wide. As a non-contractor, this store was very easy to navigate and the staff was more than helpful making sure I got the correct supplies. What I noticed during application of their paint is that the roller does not splatter much and has excellent coverage, which is helpful for interior ceilings. Relatively great value, don't waste your time and money at Home Depot or Lowe's for watered down paint. Highly recommend this place! read more

Need to do some touch up painting or our new home but been having issues getting the match correct. We needed specific colors due to our HOA so cool.. enter Dunn Edwards.. my first contact seemed a bit abrupt over the phone with their office staff but once i was in the store the manager was so helpful made lots of suggestions and after i brought him a sample to match he was able to get it spot on. Great ending to a lagging issue.. after we replaced termite damage we needed to repaint . Lowe's messed up the color so badly , (thankfully Lowes refunded us. ) I would highly recommend this store for all of your paint needs they came through for me when i needed them . #thankyouthursday2021 read more

Dunn-Edwards provides high quality paints at respectable prices that are truly built to last! Service and delivery wait times are fairly quick and include a waiting area where you can relax and keep cool thanks to their AC regulation. This location in particular is backed by some of the friendliest employees I have ever came across at any business in Simi Valley. They're all very polite, knowledgable, and do their best to ensure you leave completely satisfied with your purchase. The only reason I removed 1 star from this review was due to a frustrating personal experience I encountered the last time I was in there. They were unable to match my paint (but to be fair it looked nearly the same on the paint sample I brought, just not on my wall at home) and expressed they wouldn't be able to match the paint any closer. However, they still tried their hardest to match the paint once more, providing a free quart, which I genuinely appreciated, but they still were unsuccessful. Their purchase policy doesn't allow for refunds, so it's a little disappointing to be out $25 + a "Recovery paint match fee" when the paint unfortunately doesn't match true to my prior paint. Overall, I would still return to Dunn-Edwards to purchase their high quality paints and experience their very friendly atmosphere again. I just would be reluctant to request another paint to be matched. read more

I bought a fixer-upper and are remodeling the whole thing. After much assurance from my friends I decided to go with Dunn Edwards paint in Simi Valley because "It is the best!" I found the colors I wanted at Lowes and was assured by one of the sales associates (over the phone) that they could match it. I bought 10 gallons of it and my dad picked it up. To my surprise it matched perfectly! I decided since they did a great job matching that color I would purchase another 5 gallons in my accent/bathroom color. I ordered the color over the phone (again) and my dad went and picked it up (again). The color didn't match AT ALL! luckily only a small area was painted because my dad realized right away that the color didn't match. The next morning he took 1/2 of the swatch in (the other half I had with the number on it so I could order the correct number over the phone) and also the 5 gallons of paint. The sales associates, were rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional. I was on the phone with my dad while he was in the store and I heard one of the associates in the background saying that he took the order personally and that he got the correct color. I had either given him the wrong number or I didn't realize that the color was not the same. He was not going to do anything about the 5 gallons that was an incorrect color. My dad decided to wait for a manager to talk to him directly. The manager was also rude, and unprofessional. He stood behind his employee 100% and wouldn't be doing anything to help us out. Here is the bottom line. This is not about the $168.00 I spent on 5 gallons of paint anymore, its completely about the lack of customer service at the Simi Valley Dunn Edwards store. I have been dealing with contractors for months now and customer service is the most important thing to them. It is common sense that if a customer is not happy with a product, or work performed they will fix what is wrong.. Dunn Edwards has zero customer service. I am appalled at the unprofessional-ism of the employees and the manager. I understand $168.00 is not a big amount to them however I will NEVER recommend them to anyone doing any sort of painting. Re-visited and noticed the service has picked up. Looked like they were sincerely trying to help customers. We clearly explained our order; Interior flat. No question right, interior flat ? Well,, it was written up and color mixed-semi gloss of course. So, we had to get back in line, get it refunded, re-order and re-pay and make sure once again,, interior flat. My sister was treated like crap from misogynistic punks running place. She had brought in an old Dunn can and asked to have a new one made with same color. The color was green tea- and very evident that it had a green hue to it. When I came to assist her paint, we found new can to be sand/bone color. So she bought it back and they acted as if color was right. She asked to get her old can back so she could use that instead. They made her dig through bins in back for 20 minutes herself for it while laughing and making snide remarks. They are lucky I'm just hearing about this now and I'm not close to Simi. read more

Well, unlike the previous reviewers, I had an excellent experience at Dunn-Edwards of Simi Valley. I am required to paint our fence in the color approved by the Willows Homeowners Association, and the paint color name and number is listed on this location's computer. Easy as pie. Took all of ten minutes to mix it up. I was offered coffee and had a comfortable chair to wait in. The cashier was polite and told me what to do if I needed to get more paint. So I highly recommend this store. read more

I am a painting contractor who bought paint from Dunn Edwards for over 20 years. The quality of this paint has gone down and the prices have gone up. Poor service compared to the old days. No customer service awards going to be given out here any time soon. And I just got tired of all the day laborers agessivly chasing down customers in the parking lot as well as inside the store. Dunn Edwards motto used to be they were in business to serve the professional painting contractor, this was removed from store wall years ago. All the product testing studies they promote in the stores that show how Dunn Edwards paints beat the competitionare completed at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at the , get this......... ....the Kenneth N. Edwards Western Coatings Technology Center. Funded by Dunn Edwards Paint! Unbiased ? , come on ! Frazee Paint has comparable paints and sundries for way less money, and they still seem to care about customer service. read more

I only use Dunn Edwards paints, which I believe are superior products. I buy a lot of paint, and have been going to the Simi store for many years. I echo the comments of the other reviewers: great product, terrible service. The last time I bought paint, I ordered two quarts of exterior in interior colors. I painted the outside of my many-paned wood windows, which took forever, taping, priming, etc. The windows started to peel and flake within a year, and I was puzzled, since I had primed the new wood carefully and used Dunn-Edwards. I went to have a look at the cans, and right there, on the can, it said INTERIOR. I had trusted the employee. I had not read the can, because I told them I needed it for the exterior. NEVER DO THAT AT DUNN-EDWARDS. Read the paint can carefully before you let them mix it. Be prepared to wait, they are unbearably slow and indifferent to their customers. They have also changed the names of their paints, and the employees cannot tell you which are the same as the old paints. The last complaint: they are not open on the weekends. read more
