I grabbed the piece and said that it was alright, I will go check the price. After having to walk all the way back to the rear of the store to the wood section, I confirmed that it was only $8. I took a photo and returned to the registers where the other female worker proceeded to ring me up with the guy next to her at the neighboring cash register. "$19." I showed her the photo and she was confused. Looking at the wood, she scanned the 2 barcodes that were on there. "Oh." They scanned the wrong one. One is white and one is yellow. Not one, but 2 workers were going to charge me more than double the price at almost $20 for an item that was $8 - which by the way, is already overpriced. Is this training? I feel if the training was more efficient and better explained, these issues could have be avoided. Is it the workers? Now, if the customer doesn't notice, they've just charged the customer who knows how much extra! And what happens if you notice after the fact? The question is: why should the customer have to keep track of the price and which barcode is to be scanned? Why can't the workers?

And after multiple years of struggling with various whites by Sherwin Williams, I really learned that Benjamin Moore has some of the purest whites in the game. So when it came time to repair the house, I knew I wanted to use Benjamin Moore. I selected a number of paint colors ahead of my store visit that I was either familiar with or discovered online but Brian was such a help in identifying the swatch cards for me and talking me through how the paints might appear on the wall. For instance, I frequently use Chantilly lace, but he let me know it might come across as quite sterile if used throughout a room so it's better to use on the trim only. Just that level of information was so helpful in assessing and discussing the various colors we were considering! I'm really excited with the paint selections we made and to see how they translate onto the walls. I felt really informed, listened to and advised by Brian. He spoke with me and my husband about the sheens which I thought I knew a bit about, but I ended up feeling quite ignorant after learning more so again he added value. He also discussed with me the various levels of paint quality offered by Benjamin Moore, which was super informative, and I didn't realize there was that number of options available! I think we're going with the scuffex by Ben as it's more durable and less prone to dings and blemishes. All in all, this was a great experience. They do offer more than just Benjamin Moore paint colors as well. I noticed they carried farrow and ball as well as some others.

I've seen some of my neighbors struggle with paint matching when doing touch ups or painting rain gutters, trim or newly added metal pipes such as electrical conduits. I printed the color scheme sheet from the HOA site and took it to the nearest Vista paint location, which was this one. The manager was very helpful and explained that they could make any of their older colors. He did an awesome job matching the color perfectly despite being a discontinued color and just over 12 years old. I only needed a pint this time for some touch up, but when I need to repaint the house, I'll know exactly where to go.
