I left Austin in 2020 and was shocked to find a Summermoon in Kenosha, WI of all places. The iconic…read moremoon milk drew me back in despite having to drive 40 mins to taste it. Big unexpected bonus? They have a drive through. It seems like an odd thing to glorify for a coffee shop that focuses on quality--but this was really a big plus for me at the time. I had a colicky baby in the car and the idea of getting him out of a car seat and back into it again made me not want to leave the house all that often. Being able to drive up to grab some delicious (non-Starbucks) coffee that reminded me of the good old days in Austin was such a huge mood booster. The moon milk sells itself. It's super sweet, so if you don't want it to be too sweet, I usually ask for 1/8 moon (1/4 is on the menu, and it's still too much for me). I do wish it was in a more convenient location. It definitely feels suburban and like it's just in a random strip, but I'm also not all that familiar with in Kenosha. Hooray for Summermoon in WI. Now I have a reason to make a pit stop on my way to Chicago.

Looking it up online I discovered it contains oat milk, which a good percentage of celiacs, including me, cross react to. The moon milk is a "proprietary blend" they say has no allergens, but oats, rye, and barley are not considered allergens, but are not tolerated by celiacs. No way to know what their secret ingredients are. My fault for not asking The in store menu did not indicate this had oat milk. I assumed it was just milk.

The name, Drip & Culture, perfectly describes this spot. I was in the Great Lakes area for only 2 days for one of my nephew's Navy graduation and I went to this place twice. We ordered the iced versions of the Ube Matcha and the Ube Hojicha. The flavor balance of these drinks are perfection. As a Filipino, I approve their ube; it's not like the "ube"/vanilla with food coloring from Trader Joe's. Sidenote: I love Trader Joe's overall, but the majority of their ube products are terrible. I'm going to be craving that Ube Hojicha for a long time. I hope I can find something similar back home. Also, if you're hungry, try the tacos sold inside the supermarket adjacent to the cafe. Cheap, big, and delicious tacos!

They have a pretty vast menu. You can see the love that goes into this family owned business. I decided to try the mango sticky rice matcha and the ube hojicha latte. The Ube beverage was great, the ube flavor stands out pretty strong unlike most ube coffee drinks I've had elsewhere. The mango sticky rice was delish, it was sweet but not overly sweet and the cream made a huge difference in the drink. Highly recommend. Overall we had a great fine and would recommend if you're looking for a fusion coffee shop to try!

Things have finally calmed down here so it was a good chance to try it out. The line was pretty quick even though there were at least 3 cars in both lanes in front of me. The order system works like so. Someone walks up with a pad and takes your order, you pay right there. You pull up a bit farther and someone else brings your order. Easy enough. As for the drinks themselves, I think they're worth it! I had a large Sweet and Salty, a caramel and white chocolate breve. First off, the large was a good size. Not a medium disguised as a large like other spots. It was very tasty! Not as sweet as I would have expected but a great balance of flavor. If you want more sweet (or less) they have options for that. You can customize how strong your drink is, as well as what type of milk you want. You can also add cold foam and get your drink hot or cold. Good customization options here. Price was on point with similar places, maybe slightly more, but I felt like the value was there. I'll definitely be back to try some other drinks, I'm excited to try some frozen ones when the temperature turns.

Then there were 2 lines that we waited in almost 20 min to order but there ended up being so menu anywhere to see drink options. Once we got to the front, because we were in the outer lane, all the cars of the inner lane got served first, and then we got our orders taken about 10 minutes later. After a while, I ordered the first thing I saw on the poster in front of me the cereal matcha drink. It was okay, a bit sweet for my liking but it really did taste like cereal milk. The drink was almost $10. I think because of how crazy the lines were at 11am on a Tuesday, and how confusing it was to order, I may come back if there is no line to try other drinks. But otherwise, I think I'll stick to my usual coffee shops and drinks.

It was so fun to find it on a corner like a standalone house with a full parking lot. They also have an enclosed patio which I can only imagine would be so fun during the summer. We got the cherry cordial cold brew, and the matcha flight. The cold brew was good, it had the hints of cherries with in. I loved the matcha flight, honestly the vanilla matcha as basic as that sounds was my absolute favorite but I cannot wait to try the chai flight! For breakfast I got the caprese sandwich and my husband got the breakfast burrito and we split it. Both were great, the caprese sandwich was delish! I keep thinking to myself I need to try to make that for breakfast now because it was that good! And for our sweet treat dessert we got the carrot cake whoopie. It was good but it felt like there was too much cake to the filling ratio, I almost feel like it needed to be half the amount of cake. Overall a great experience! The staff was nice and the shop was so cute to hang out and work in! Can't wait to come back and try more.
