This place is pretty dang big and seems to have a few locations in eastern Connecticut. The staff was nice, the donut selection was even nicer, and for a donut shop, it was a great looking shop too. I settled on an Oreo cookie donut as well as a chocolate sprinkle donut with some milk to wash it down. Both donuts get a big thumbs up from me and I made sure no crumbs were left behind. They tasted fresh and I can't help but think people should absolutely be choosing this over another lackluster Dunkin' location. Overall, I really enjoyed Baker's Dozen and I would absolutely indulge in some donuts on my next trip.

This place is new I think, and honestly it was very good. I love a good coffee, or a good latte. Knowledgable, because I heard her explaining the difference between different coffee drinks to another customer, and it's nice to hear a good, clear, correct explanation of the difference between drinks. I wish they had soy milk as an option, I really really wish they did, but I had to go with whole milk instead. They do have almond, oat and coconut milk options as well if I'm not mistaken. I also ordered an Asiago bagel, toasted. I asked for the options for toppings and I'm going to do my best to remember, but I believe they had cream cheese, cinnamon cream cheeee, vegan cream cheese, butter, vegan butter and sun butter. Impressive selection little coffee house, impressive. I also ordered a little slice of a lemon loaf that just looked so moist and delicious. They also had cinnamon rolls (which I heard her tell another customer they can heat up and add the cinnamon roll frosting, so definitely next time I'll do that) and really good looking muffins and some other tasty looking pastries. I grabbed some sweetener in case I needed it. Sometimes with acidic or overly roasted coffee or espresso I need something sweet in it. However, man was this latte good, nothing else needed to be added. It was perfect. I really enjoyed drinking it. The bagel was good, and the lemon loaf was amazing. I love that the owners are into some vegan options and "cleaner" options. I talked to the barista about energy drinks they are featuring next month that are made with green coffee beans, instead of chemicals. She also told me that the latte I had was made with beans the owners roasted the night before. I mean seriously you could tell, it was so fresh. Well done! The barista was super nice, it was calm, a good amount of foot traffic, even people coming in right till closing time. My ride didn't show up on time and she offered to let me wait even though they had closed, and after just getting out of the hospital and having a spine injury, she has no idea how nice of a gesture that really was. I ended up ordering the same order that I got for my boyfriend as I left. He also loved it. I will definitely be returning to this coffee house, soon. I prefer it to be made from Single Origin beans, from places like Africa that have bright flavor profiles. And I prefer a medium light roast that highlights the quality of the bean. Most places make their iced coffee from blends and medium dark or dark roast levels. Grounded Coffee Co is the rare CT coffee shop that made my iced coffee with an Ethiopian Single Origin roasted by Ilse. Ilse, a North Canaan, CT, was not on my radar. They are now. This was one of the best iced coffees I've had from a shop all year. And it matched my preferences. Grounded is small, but the shop was cute, had some inside seating, and seemed to have an outside seating area, although I did not go out back to see it. Service was friendly and helpful. Very impressed with this visit experience. Five Stars.

There are requests for feedback available on most platforms where people can leave comment on their experience and let others know of any issues encountered. For minor issues, businesses typically opt to rectify them so that customers that maybe didn't have a 5/5 experience might try again. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The owner, Adam Rondeau, decided to personally text my family member about her review where she mentioned being incorrectly charged for an item and call her "insane" for saying so on a review instead of reaching out to him as the owner first. In my experience, I have never heard that personally reaching out to the business's owner for an issue when there are feedback options available, especially as a first step, is the "correct" way to handle an issue. You let the customers know it happened to you in a review, and you move on. Clearly, if you have a negative experience at chubby dog, your best bet is to keep your mouth shut about it or the owner might personally text you and make you the bad guy for their mistake. If you were concerned on how a review of a mistake that was made at your cafe would have impacted your business, you absolutely made a bad moral decision by trying to bully the complainant after the fact. Who does that? The market is over saturated in coffee here, go anywhere else. Even if you might have a less than stellar experience elsewhere at least you probably won't be contacted by an owner saying that you were wrong for complaining.

Any and every Barista knows espresso is to be pulled each time, never to sit long, or it separates and becomes weak and bitter. Not only was i appalled at the way the beverages were made, it looks as though a deep clean is needed. I noticed while waiting for my refund, there was a large bug, sticky with syrup, dead, right in plain sight. Along with debris all over the floor, furniture, and under items on the countertops Whomever owns, manages, trains these young ladies, needs to retake their food safety classes and brush up on proper food service. Then learn the techniques to prepare a proper espresso beverage. Iced or not, you don't pour a plastic pitcher of espresso, (who knows how long ago those shots were pulled or if it was indeed espresso) into metal, and dump over milk.

I had a medium to dark roast that was out of this world from Guatemala. The Barista was so helpful in helping me select the perfect blend after I explained what I like in coffee. The blueberry and chocolate chip scones where delicious and they had other bakery items such as muffins and breads. They put them on a grill when we asked if the scone could be heated so good. The icing on the cake or should I say scone was Brittany singing and Gabe playing his acoustic guitar. They were so talented and humble. Just the coffee alone was an amazing treat! I am such a coffee snob and there coffee is by far the best I have had in CT what a wonderful treasure. A great way to spend Sunday Funday!
