Went to Dunkin in the early afternoon and surprisingly they had a large variety of donuts available. Sometimes I go into donut places and half the flavors are sold out, but not here. All we got was an assorted dozen and all were fresh and delicious. My only complaint is that they allowed a couple of panhandlers to hang out right in front. Coming from the East Coast, it's surprising to find that Santa Fe only has one Dunkin Donuts. The chain is ubiquitous up and down I-95, but people here seem to survive without it. There's little talk of going to "Dunks" within my circles. And yet, it remains a great late night option, being open 24 hours a day. The donuts are the same as at any location. The coffee, too. The "owner" huffed and puffed when I said I wanted 3 dozen, she threw the three boxes on the counter and told me " you can only get two of each flavor". My mom, boyfriend, and I stopped by here for memory sake. My mom used to take us here on trips to Taos, so we stopped by here for the hell of it. What a huge disappointment it was. My favorite donut if I have one is a buttermilk donut or an old fashioned chocolate donut. They had neither. What?!??? The customer service is terrible at this location. I came in early one morning before work recently. There was only one person in line. I waited for them to finish, but it was take a long time. After a few minutes I asked the two people at the other register if they could help me so I wouldn't be late for work. There was a manager showing an employee how to take orders. The manager said "Yes right away miss you are in such a hurry". The tone was rude and condescending. She fixed my breakfast sandwich herself. The whole time she glared at me. I asked her her name when she gave me my sandwich. She said "My name is Jackie and I'm the manager". This was all said in the rudest tone and very loud. I will never go back. This is my favorite place to grab a cup of coffee while in Santa Fe. The coffee is always fresh, and the employees are cheerful. There's plenty of seating, too. Stay there long enough, and you might just find yourself a sugar daddy (or sugar momma!) A mature crowd likes to mingle. The stained chair in the ladies bathroom is a little creepy, but I won't knock them for that. I bet it has seen a lot of action. Plenty of donuts available when we were there. Cashier seemed new and was having a lot of trouble understanding my simple food order. I also asked her for a soy latte since I can't have dairy. I looked at the receipt and didn't see it was noted to be soy milk. I cannot process dairy so I needed to double check. Turns out she didn't use soy milk, so thank goodness I checked. I love Dunkin' Donuts all around, but there are some down sides to this place. The doughnuts are fantastic, but the Hot Chocolate, not so much. They ran out of the original Hot Chocolate, so I had to get caramel. Oh my gosh. I got it literally 15 minutes ago and I still haven't had more than 4 sips and it is still burning hot! What the heck! Another thing to add, when I went to take a sip, it smelled like rotten eggs. My hot chocolate smells like rotten eggs!!! I even got a large and it cost over $2, and I don't want to drink it.
