    On tap!
    Josh G.

I'm glad I moved out to Lake Ronkonkoma. It's given me a fresh look at this lengthy island and provided me with opportunities to visit new places...like Dunkin'. Ha! Of course Dunkin' is nothing new to this frequent flyer, but the Lake Ronkonkoma Dunkin' is a place I've only just started to visit (back in March upon my Suffolk move) with mostly positive results. You see, this Dunkin' is quite different than my little New Hyde Park coffee spot. That Dunkin' is tiny and doesn't offer up too many frills like this Lake Ronkonkoma one can. What frills, you say? Ah yes, frills in the form of a drive-thru, Baskin Robins, and Nitro cold brew. All of these things are definitely found at other Dunkin's, but it's new to me and my old local stop...so no judgement. Honestly, that nitro on tap was completely new to me. I had never seen a Dunkin' with this available. I'm used to Starbucks rocking this coffee option, so one morning I had to give Dunkin's version a shot. Unfortunately, I think the sweet cream that was supposed to be on top of this cup of Joe was missing, the taste was a little too bitter for cold brew, and that aforementioned cup was quite small for the price...perhaps nitro cold brew isn't widely found at Dunkin' for a reason. Besides that, I'll give Lake Ronkonkoma's Dunkin' plenty of props for having my coffee ready to go every time I order it ahead on the app. Employees have been semi-friendly (which is all I can ask for) as well and the place seems to be kept pretty clean. Most importantly, the coffee is made correctly and tastes good. That's the one thing any avid Dunkin' drinker might say: No two Dunkin's make their coffee the same way. It's an unfortunate reality of Dunkin', but a truth which has honestly shied me away from them more and more over the last year or so...I digress. Let's just say this Dunkin' does things right (or at least has up to this point). Overall, Dunkin' of Lake Ronkonkoma offers up just about everything I can ask for from a coffee spot (at least of their caliber). I'll continue to visit this Dunkin' for my (mostly) daily sips of caffeine. Perhaps I'll even try that nitro cold brew again sometime...well, maybe.

    Ice Cappuccino

This place doesn't know how to make an ice cappuccino. When I ordered an ice cappuccino, they gave me an ice latte instead and tried to claim it was correct. When they went to remake it, it was the same thing just the ice was crushed. Such a disappointment.

    Smh the bag was ripped

It would be a nicer establishment if the employee at the drive thru window in the morning was more pleasant. It's basic customer service to say good morning how can I help you? Or good morning which order are you picking up? I used to go to this location every morning between 7:15am and 7:30am but I've stopped because of the horrible service I receive at the drive thru window. I just went there today after placing my mobile order and when I saw her at the window I remembered why I don't go there anymore. Here's a picture of how she packed my donut

Fairly large store with plenty of tables to sit and watch cars drive by on Portion Road. Or if you like, you can face the parking lot and watch people enter and leave while checking out the cars. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. What was interesting to me is that you needed to request a key to utlize the rest rooms. A first for me at a Dunkin Donuts. The egg and cheese muffin was good as usual along with the coffee.

I frequent here a lot the service is usually pretty good and fast. Coffee tends to always be consistent. I order on the Togo app a lot and sometimes the app gives me problems I am sure this is a Corporate issue not this stores. Sometimes they do forget to make something on my to go order but it's usually busy so I understand

Small Iced Blueberry Coffee with a Splenda and Skim Milk. Not the best I've had but pretty good.
    Marisa D.

Service was decent but needed some work. Maybe it was because I got the new employee. BUT ANYWAY.. back to the review! I needed some coffee this morning so I came and got myself some DD coffee. Needed also a small decaf with half and half for my mom. First, he wanted to give me regular and another gentleman behind the counter pointed and told the guy that was helping me where to go for some decaf. My mom and caffeine do not get along to well. So crisis averted. I got myself a small iced blueberry coffee with a Splenda and skim milk. He kept having to ask me my order over and over and over.. again. First he thought I said hot, then wanted to give me regular sugar over Splenda. Asked me what kind of milk again... twice. Oy. Just give me my coffee man and make it right! Or ELSE! Haha I kid I kid. So I hope if I go back I won't have a little bit more of headache like I had today and just had the coffee made to my liking. Considering its only a few minutes away from my house. PS - Parking lot is SMALL! So beware. I can see this getting a little hectic during rush hour.

That describes the last time I was at Nappi's Nook, over two years ago. Flash forward to this morning and we're looking at an update that shows a much different experience this time around. You see that first time at Nappi's was not long after they had opened. Kinks were definitely still being worked out and at the time, I just couldn't see it as a place worth choosing over other breakfast spots. But seeing reviews, awards, and that the place was still standing years later led my wife and I to come check them out again. This second time around we snagged a table (they definitely get crowded quickly) and had some very friendly service from our waitress. Things started with their Nappicinos which were a huge misfire that first time, but a definite improvement today. My wife got the Biscoff variety while I got the Peanut butter cup and boy were they tasty. A good balance of coffee and sweet flavors. Now when it came to food, last time I went with chicken and waffles which (from pics) still seemed like something I might enjoy more elsewhere and so instead, I landed on The Stove Top Skillet. This was a combo of onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, cheese, and over easy eggs. It came out piping hot and it was honestly impressive in how it tasted. I liked the thinly sliced sausage coins and although the pepper pieces were a little massive, they were soft enough with everything mixing together nicely. As for the wife, she went with a special in the form of the hash omelette which was exactly as it sounded with Swiss cheese and paprika hollandaise sauce on top along with breakfast potatoes on the side. I tried it and it was pretty tasty as well. One last item we chose to order was a single beignet for $2.50 as a side option. Sometimes we're just not feeling a full sweet breakfast, but this little fried ball filled with chocolate did the trick. Was it comparable to Cafe Du Monde? No way, but it was still quality. Honestly, the whole meal was quality and definitely several steps up from that first round a few years back. The only true gripe I can give is the soundtrack to Nappi's. The music, a touch louder than one might think at 9 in the morning, was a little too trance/dance/club for the vibe of breakfast. Maybe on a Sunday for a boozy brunch, but perhaps some music changes would create a little more of a "Nook" feel. Perhaps? Overall though, I'm really very impressed and glad to have given Nappi's Nook a second shot. It may have taken some time for that to happen, but it showed that this place was the real deal because it was still around, and winning Best of LI awards in the meantime. Perhaps a place to get to on the earlier side, but for sure a location I know I will be returning to for round three much sooner than expected.

Service was good overall--friendly and attentive. We ordered the carrot cake French toast, and it was honestly delicious. It leaned more toward dessert than breakfast--very rich, sweet, and a huge portion. Definitely something you could share, because finishing it solo is no small task. Also tried the bangers omelette, which was a bit of a mixed experience. The omelette itself was excellent--plenty of sausage, and the caramelized onions with Irish cheddar were a great combination. Really flavorful and well done. Came with homemade rye, awesome. That said, I wasn't happy with the home fries. I had asked for them to be well done, but they came out undercooked anyway. I did mention it to the server but nothing came of it, which was a little disappointing. The home fries also included a mix of what looked like russet and sweet potatoes--I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes at all! I wish that had been noted on the menu. On a positive note, the fresh-squeezed strawberry lemon mimosa carafe was very good, and at $28 it felt like a fair price. Overall, a solid spot with some standout items, but a few small misses from my experience. I'd still come back, just with a better idea of what's on the menu.

It had just the right balance of rich espresso flavor and smooth sweetness...not overly sugary, but still comforting and flavorful. You can tell they really care about the quality of their drinks here. The fact that they offer sugar-free options is such a thoughtful touch for those who want to enjoy something indulgent without all the sugar. They also offer dairy free alternatives. They also have a great selection of baked goods and pastries to go along with your coffee...everything from muffins and cookies to croissants and other treats that pair perfectly with their lattes and teas. I thought it would be dead, but to my surprise it was still pretty busy! Its a small little place, but still a few options to sit down and eat or just sip your java. Bonus points for excellent music choice, very indie singer/songwriter style that made for a nice relaxing atmosphere. Starting with the reason you're probably going here, the coffee. I got a peanut butter latte, and my girlfriend got one of their winter seasonal choices in the ginger bread latte. both served hot. The PB was very smooth and lightly sweet, but the ginger bread one in my opinion takes home the trophy this time. As for lunch we did their sandwich/wrap and a salad combo, which as far as I am concerned is the best deal I've ever seen, Panera eat your heart out. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with a side caesar salad, and my girlfriend got the fig & brie sandwich, with a side peach and avocado salad. The buffalo wrap was nice and light with grilled chicken and a buffalo sauce that seemed almost more like a vinaigrette and the caesar was about as classic as it gets. The fig and brie was an unexpected plus for me and eats almost like a caprese sandwich, while the peach and avocado salad was super fresh, fruit in salad doesn't quite do it for me personally, so we split the trophy for our lunches. My only "major" downside is that the food is served on wooden paddles, I personally like a plate, but that is more of me just being a nit-picker more than anything else. Parking is pretty ample with spots both in the front and the back of the attached lot, but be careful when you're pulling up the first time, you're bound to miss it, I know I almost did!
