    Rude Bystander
    Breaynn T.

RUN away from this place. Me and my mom were so excited to try this place for the first time while visiting in Destin, FL. We came in early for some quick breakfast. The restaurant line was very long and the service was so so so slow. We spent 20 minutes in line to then wait another 20 for our one small coffee. We finally got up to the counter to meet the rudest cashier ever. Any question we had, she shrugged her shoulders. We ordered a 6 count donuts, and my mom was picking the flavors and lost count of how many she was at, so she asked how many is that so far? The cashier had the most blah face and just tilted the box towards us because saying "5 ma'am" was such a big deal. When we finally were handed our box of dry, cold, donuts that have been sitting on the shelf over night, my mom asked if we could have the donuts heated up, the girl didn't say a word and just nodded her head implying no. At this point we are just astonished and truly regretting stopping at the most ran down Dunkin' ever for our first experience, but it gets worse. After 20 minutes of waiting in a line of only 3 people ahead of us, we are finally checking out (this is another 10 minute process). Then, the worse part of the experience happens. The lady behind us in line, walks about 2 inches away from our faces and says "excuse me, are you gonna pay for that chocolate milk you started drinking??" I was confused that this lady was screaming, but my mom was apologetic saying she forgot it in the beginning of the line on the counter (due to the TWENTY minute wait). She went grab it and handed it to the lady. The cashier looked like she could care less about this job or that chocolate milk. This lady did not give it a rest at that. She continued to speak to us crazy from behind us even after she walked out of our faces. At this point, me and my mom are livid. She grabbed the chocolate milk, paid for it, and all was done, but this women was just absolutely rude and out of place. At one point, I asked her "do you work here? Are you a cop?" This lady clearly is going to go home and lose sleep about this chocolate milk that was going to be forgotten on the table, NOT TAKEN with us for free. She taunted us until the second she walked out like she felt she did a good thing, bullying people today. Anyway, once we were ready to pay, the cashier told us the price at almost a whisper. Me in my early twenties could not hear her, much less my mom in her late fifties! Then each time we said "sorry can you repeat that I can't hear you" she seemed to get even more agitated and yet somehow LOWER. They had 4 girls working on making the coffees, which was more than the amount of people in the shop at this point. They looked like they were doing a whole lot of nothing, like they were pretending to have their hands busy to not be called on to make the next coffee. At this point, I went sit down in the seating area to start on my YELP review INSTANTLY because I was just shocked at this service and this by stander lady who decided it was her job to prosecute today. Meanwhile, my mom is standing up, waiting for her coffee. 5 minutes in, my mom finally sees one of the 4 girls at the coffee station, working on her coffee. She asks her to add creamer to the coffee & the lady says "I know" so rudely. After all of this, we get in the car and we are just speechless trying to explain what happened in there to my dad. Lastly, we realized that the extra chocolate glazed donut we paid EXTRA for, was not given to us. Overall, this has been the worse experience I have ever had with a fast food industry literally ever, and that is saying something in itself. Management, something has to be done about the attitude leaking out of the walls in this place. I wish zero stars was an option.

Sad and dry. It's a beach tradition to get donuts and me trying to be efficient with multiple people ordered delivery. First time donuts have made me sad

I recommend the caramel oatmilk iced latte

I would not recommend this location. Donuts were not up to par with other DD's and my to go order was wrong.

BLUF: Excellent breakfast all day and delicious, fresh donuts in a diner-like atmosphere…read more My party of three arrived at The Donut Hole to a long-ish line down the ramp and I was wondering if it's worth it. It is! The Donut Hole most certainly has diner vibes and I suspect the booths are original to its 1978 origins - both of which made for a nostalgic experience. Although named for the sweet, fried confections, The Donut Hole has a huge menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. My table all ordered breakfast even though it was lunch time. The breakfast was awesome - omelettes, pancakes, poached eggs, cheese grits, coffee and the most delicious rye bread. I had the sausage and cheese omelet and there was something about it that made it better than other omelettes I've had. Also, I loved the rye bread - it was sliced thicker than what I am used to and it was very pillowy. I enjoyed it dry but it was also good with a little butter. We waited about 20 or so minutes for a table, but once seated we enjoyed prompt, attentive, excellent service. And's let's not forget to talk about the fresh made donuts! Oh my, there were a lot of flavors to choose from and none of them disappointed. Initially I went with a chocolate frosted and Bavarian cream filled donut. But then a fresh tray of key line donuts came out and I had to get one of those too. My sister ordered a few and we took them back to our rental, cut them in quarters and had a donut tasting party. Delicious! I am looking forward to my return trip to The Donut Hole. A visit to Santa Rosa Beach would not be complete without a stop at The Donut Hole.

Holy tortugas! This place rocks and no wonder it is packed, the word is out…read moreVery smart scheme, they don't need any advertising because it is by word of mouth, our next door neighbor from Pensacola told us about the donuts and other items in the menu I ordered an omelette with mushrooms and cheese and it was like they would have told me to go in the kitchen and make it myself disregarding how big my stomach and my appetite would be, very generous that not even the picture makes justice to how well and generous was. Do you think I left any in my plate? no sir! Wife ordered two fried eggs that come with hash browns and biscuit and she barely finished too. Kathy was our server with a smile from ear to ear that made our day, very patient and took our order quickly and accurately. Considering the number of people in the restaurant our food came out quickly. We asked Kathy about something we saw next table and could not guess what it was on the menu. Apple fritters she said so we ordered one to go, well have it with coffee tomorrow There is a well known breakfast franchise across the highway but they are no competition to the Donut Hole, just simply there is no other place I have been in the Nation that serves as good as this and I have been to quite a few, I wish there was one near home. Place is well lit and inviting with enough personnel to tackle the crowd Place is crazy busy and when we left the line was all the way to the front porch Are we coming back? you bet we will in the week and a half we have left in Paradise. Only about a mile from Topsail Hill State Park and next time we will take the bikes, easy ride on the bike lane on Highway 98

Gotta love local!!!…read more Got some pizza here on a week day during our Fl summer vaca b/c we were looking for something locally owened. Got the hawaiian, pepperoni and cheesy bread. All super good! Crust was a thin crust, not too paper thin though, so a nice in between of thin and regular. The cheesy bread was SOOOO good! The cheese on the bread was nice and thick and gooey! A+++ on the cheese bread in my opinion. Great helping of cheese. So if you just want cheesy bread that's light or mid on the cheese I would recommend clarifying your preference b/c they're serious about the CHEESE part of the bread! Called ahead to see what the busiest times are and typical wait times, b/c wasn't sure if we should order assuming longer wait times or if we should wait to order until closer to being ready to be hungry enough for everyone to eat. Called and the gal on the phone was SOOO nice and friendly, advised week day order before 5pm and will be ready within 30 mins. Advised we'll order before 5 and will probably put order online and she asked for my name and advised she'll keep an eye for my name to come through, which I thought was just an extra step of nice courtesy that I wasn't expecting and just thought that was so thoughtful! Was about $90 for two big pizzas and the cheesy bread, but SO worth it. The pizzas were also BIG! So was very happy with the portion sizes. Happy to spend this money for the quality and supporting local owned establishments that put out quality product! I would recommend purchasing here over other franchised chains.
