Ran into Charlie's for coffee and a bite before heading out to do some snorkeling. We each got an avocado toast and a coffee. The coffee was perfect, not as strong as some of the other nearby spots, but strong enough to carry my half and half and not taste watered down. Greatly appreciated. In looking at other reviewers' photos, our toast was presented like the one with a thin avocado smear, which could have been commercially purchased, and was very sparse. The one with the fresh avocado slices looks way better. But I did enjoy the added micro greens and drizzle of balsamic glaze, which gave me a great idea for elevating mine that I make at home. read more

Absolutely terrible. They charge $12 for less than mediocre avocado toast. The avocado tastes fake and is slathered on then they cover it in cherry tomatoes in the hopes that you won't be able to taste the nasty avocado spread. This toast should be $5 max. Their coffee tastes watered down and flavorless. If you ask for a latte it will be 80% fake flavoring, 10% ice, 9% milk and 1% gross espresso. Don't waste your money. read more

They are perfect for lunch, dessert, just a snack, or something to drink. My favorite is their amazing cold brew coffee. But, it's their staff that make the place truly great. I hate to give bad reviews to small businesses especially in an area where i'm sure rent for the building is astronomical...but I tried this place twice. The coffee was amazing but the service is horrible, barely friendly, and lacks any type of enthusiasm to be there. First day I had multiple coffees to get so I placed an online order and waited the 30 minutes they told me to wait to pick up when I closed out my ticket. Got to the cafe (very convenient to Pilot House in Sandestin) at my scheduled time, very long line so I headed to the pick up counter. No order there so I asked the lady if she had an online order...gave her my name, etc. she never replied. Another 25 minutes later she gives me my order. It was great coffee. I had a hot caramel latte with oat milk and it was very good. Service....not so much. If you are running late and think you can speed up the process...don't count in it. Today I stop in for same thing - hot caramel latte with oat milk. I order at the counter and i'm the only person in line. I noticed the barista pouring regular milk so I say "hi that caramel latte is supposed to be with oat milk"....so the lady who took my order says "you did not say oat milk" to which I replied "yes I did I have milk intolerance"....so she comes to charge me the $1 for oat milk. I get my coffee...no salutation, no "thank you", no "get out of here"... Terrible to have such great product but such terrible service....I guess they win in the end based on the convenience of location. We stayed in the pilot house at the Baytowne wharf, and didn't have to go far for a great breakfast. For 3 mornings in a row, my husband and I both got the egg and cheese bagel and added turkey sausage. They were amazing each time. I got house brewed coffee which was delicious and strong. They are super quick getting the food out, and the prices are reasonable. I do wish we had branched out some as the menu was extensive for a tiny spot. read more

We ordered 4 drinks, nothing special, a couple of frozen coffees and a smoothie, but yet at least 10 other people that ordered after us came and left with their drinks before we got ours. Service was horrible right of the bat lady had an attitude we got charged for something extra we added and never got when i got my sandwich i went back in and i was told i was never charged for it. A hidden gem!! Located at the entrance of Baytowne Wharf, Charlie's Cafe has a huge variety of food items including flatbreads, bagels and lox, sandwiches and breakfast wraps!! Donuts are fabulous and a list of latte flavors for everyone to enjoy. I was extremely happy with my weekend visit in Sandestin and came here every morning for breakfast!! I'll be back! read more

This is a great place to go if you love having to repeat yourself 20 times about a simple donut order and having the staff treat you like they're doing you a favor for making your egg sandwich. The staff here are completely incompetent and rude. As I was placing my order I could visualize the gears turning in the cashier's brain- her processing time was about 10 minutes per word and she still managed to mess up the order. After waiting for about 15 minutes for a microwaved egg sandwich we put some heat on the staff by standing at the counter and asked for an ETA...they originally said 30 seconds, then randomly got bumped up to 2 minutes. Naturally we were confused: how does time work in opposite fashion? So the manager tried to justify the egg debacle but we just wanted to know how long we should keep waiting. Then they proceeded to give us attitude and stated they were wrapping the sandwich right now. We left with decent donuts, bad sandwich, bad espresso, and terrible service. Please don't come here.
