I was expecting to get a donut at Dunkin' Donuts but apparently you only get a choice of 2 different kinds.

Krispy Kreme - Banana Pudding Doughnut 2020

Banana Pudding Doughnut: Krispy Kreme (KK) has a fantastic origin story. Allegedly, founder Vernon…read moreRudolph bought the recipe for his original doughnuts from a New Orleans barge chef. I just think it's neat that the KK doughnut recipe might have some ties to beignets or other French cuisine. Wherever the recipe came from, there's truly something special about their original glazed doughnuts that transcends the genre. As part of their 2026 Spring Collection, KK has revived one of my favorites (yes, it was introduced in 2020 and I have a picture to prove it), the Banana Pudding Doughnut. The official description from KK is "An unglazed shell doughnut filled with banana pudding Kreme, dipped in vanilla flavored icing, and topped with crushed wafer cookies and buttercreme flavored dollop." My doughnut was a bright yellow color teeming with crushed wafer cookies (at least on half of it). This is my first minor complaint. The doughnut looked more visually appealing in 2020 with the 2026 version instead opting for a "Two-Face" look. Most of the flavor comes from the vanilla icing, except for the couple of bites that contain the sweet banana Kreme (my second complaint, there could have been a little more Kreme). I've had issues with missing or incorrectly flavored filling from KK, but when they do it right, it's divine. The banana and vanilla paired nicely and reminded me of why KK is my favorite doughnut chain when things go smoothly. Although it's an artificial banana flavor, it is well done and is not overly candy-like. The only other banana filled doughnut I've encountered has been at Voodoo Doughnut and KK's version is a worthy competitor for those unable to access Voodoo. It's on like Donkey Kong, Doughboy approved . Doughboy_Food_Reviews My KK favorites: 1. Hypno-Henry, The Cake Batter Monster 2. Oreo Cookies & Kreme 3.Peanut Butter Kreme Filled Doughnut Topped With M&M's 4. Mississippi Mud Pie 5. Banana Pudding 6. Butterfinger Original Filled 7. Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake

First impressions, the restaurant needs some help with cleanliness. Tables and chairs are worn out, the floor just looks old and dirty. I'm sure they clean, but when things get that worn and old, it doesn't matter. Part of the "charm" of this restaurant is the Route 66 proximity, and that was part of our reason for going there being the 100th anniversary of the mother road. When you enter you are faced with a bit of confusion. There are handwritten signs telling you to grab a menu and get a table, then you have to go to the counter and place your order. I've seen this before and it makes little sense. I suppose it's a labor saving method, but not practical at all. We found a table and looked at the menu, which is quite extensive. They, also, baked their own breads and pies and have a display case with pastries. We placed our order and returned to our table. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but while we waited, I watched people coming in and being just as confused about the ordering system as we were. Plus, the line at the counter grew into the seating area. I would think the counter would be good for to go orders like the baked goods and pastries rather than dining customers. I ordered the 1/4 ham and provolone croissant sandwich with fries, my daughter ordered a turkey wrap, and my wife ordered the turkey club. They both ordered fruit cups as their side. The croissant was very good. It was flaky, moist and pillowy, but held the ingredients of the sandwich well. My wife and daughter said their sandwiches were fine. I'm not sure my sandwich had a full 1/4 pound of ham on it, but it did have good flavor. The fries were hot, but right out of the bag. The fruit cups didn't appear the freshest. It looks like they do a good business with the baked goods and pastries. Maybe that should be the business which would make more sense with the style of service they are doing. It was worth trying, but I don't know if I would return. The employees were all friendly and were hustling and I did see someone clearing tables, but I think the place could go for a remodel just to maintain an appearance of
