What a disappointment! Got there and the doors were locked - went around to the drive through and the worker was NOT friendly. I asked her if any of their drinks were gluten free and she immediately told me no as if she was some spectacular all-knowing employee. I ended up just searching it up on Google, come to find out a lot of their drinks actually can be made gluten free. We decided to order the Caramel High Rise Espresso drinks. The drink was supposed to come topped with whipped cream and caramel and conveniently had neither on top. The drinks tasted like plain coffee. The employee didn't even bother to ask me if i wanted my receipt. I won't be returning. read more

This was a cute little place to grab a coffee. I had a vanilla "cold press" (cold brew) and it was pretty good but a little too sweet for my taste. Prices aren't anything shy of Starbucks and I'd probably choose them over caribou if I had the chance. Nice ambiance but not quite as comfy as other coffee shops. read more

I've been here twice. Once a few weeks ago and left very happy. I ordered a Black Peach iced tea in the drive-thru and got just that. Friendly service as well. Loved it. Went today and will never go back. Same thing, I ordered a Black Peach iced tea in the drive thru. I noticed the cashier wasn't friendly but whatever. I got my drink, drove off, took a drink, and it was something sparkling and gross. Look at my receipt and it said "Sparkling Flip." I go inside and the woman who took my order is just standing there incredibly rude looking at me. I said I ordered a tea. She nodded overenthusiastically and said "And that's what you got. A tea." I said it was sparkling. She said their iced teas come sparkling. On their menu inside it said still or sparkling and let's see, one would assume that most people want a normal iced tea. Maybe ASK "Would you like that still or sparkling?" She was very rude and insisted that I received exactly what I ordered and was determined in proving she was in the right. Worst customer service ever, I'll never return. read more

This is by far the best Caribou Coffee I've ever seen. I work at the one in Sycamore (also part of a Hy-Vee) and even though this one is connected to the gas station instead of a kiosk like mine, it has the look and feel of a real coffee shop. There is plenty of seating room, a drive-thru, a fireplace, a chalkboard for customers to write "chalk thoughts", and beautiful artwork adorning the walls from local artists in Springfield. Marissa the barista (that rhyme scheme though) was very accommodating and personable. I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often. Thanks for the great experience. read more

I have been a fan of Caribou Coffee since I first visited it while living in Greensboro, NC. I think it is much better than Starbucks, which gets a lot of acclaim considering it offers burnt-tasting, over-roasted coffee. I love the mochas at Caribou, because they use real melted choclate instead of syrup. I also like the diversity of flavors; dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, etc. I was very excited to see that there is a new stand-alone Caribou by the new HyVeee store, (I don't really like the outlets in the grocery stores, like the one by County Market. I just don't enjoy the environment). I have visited the new location a handful of times. There is good news and not-so-good news: the good news is the mochas I've had have been delicious. As many coffee lovers are, I am exacting about my mocha: I get a non-fat, dark chocolate mocha with less chocolate (half the normal amount), foam and no whip. I had one two weeks ago that was perfect--using less chocolate brings out the rich flavor of the dark chocolate, and there was just the right amount of foam on top. What wasn't as good was the service. I had to recite my order a few times, and the person taking the order struggled to get it right. This has happened on each of the four or five occasions I have visited, and I don't think my order is that complicated. I mean, isn't this their specialty? I would expect the staff to be better trained in taking a coffee order. A few times, the person at the register has had to call someone over to help ring up the order. Last weekend when I ordered, they added whip even though I hadn't requested it. There was also no foam on top. Another time I ordered a small and they gave me a medium. So overall, I will give them a B+ for taste/quality and a C for service. I know they are a new store, so I will give it a little more time. However, I think the staff should've been more thoroughly trained before the store opened. I hope it gets better, because Caribou is a longer drive for me than Starbucks. I don't mind the extra distance, but I want it to be worth it. read more

All of the employees are great at this location! I come here pretty often and am never disappointed by my drinks or the service. The crafted press, recommended by a barista, is my favorite now. Store is especially cozy in the winter time with the gas fireplace and hearth. Always have local art, etc. on the walls, much better than Starbucks! read more

My experience with the Caribou at HyVee is also a mixed one. I enjoy the atmosphere of the store, the drinks and food, however, I don't like the fact that it is a hang out for teenagers in middle school between 2:30 and 3:30 weekdays. They come in after school and most don't order anything, they just take up chairs and make a lot of noise when in groups. There is a real problem with parents using the store for a "pick-up" location instead of in front of Franklin Middle School. Also, the staff don't say or do anything to alleviate the problem. I have found that the Caribou over at the County Market in White Oaks West is much more conducive to having a relaxing afternoon cup of coffee or tea without all of the drama of the HyVee location. I hope that things get better there because I do really like their sandwiches! read more
