I highly recommend coffee here. I got a cortado and it was excellent. If you don't know your coffees well though, just know cortados are going to be much smaller volume in a bigger sized cup (unless the store specifically has smaller sized cups). My son was holding my coffee and was like, "Mom, they didn't give you a lot of coffee." I had to explain it was how the cortado was suppose to be made and I expected the cup not to be full. Anywho...it was excellent flavor, brewed correctly and the steamed milk did not over power the espresso itself. Very nice cup. Now, I do wish my brain had been functioned correctly because I came in to order bagels for some camp kiddos for breakfast the next day. I asked if they were house made or brought in. As soon as I was told they weren't house made I should have ended my order with the cortado. However, I wasn't thinking and was in a hurry to get back on the road. I ordered 5 bagels, 3 with cream cheese and 2 with butter. I expected to be charged some for cream cheese, but thought butter would be free. It isn't, they charge for it. I didn't know if there would be butter available at the camp the next morning so I just ordered it anyways. I think butter should always be free with bagels/bread/toast/etc. these bagels were like bagels I would buy at Walmart...but instead of paying like $2-$4 (great value or Thomas brands) for 6 bagels. I needed up paying about $4 a bagel! again, wasn't thinking or I would have canceled out the bagels. It wasn't until it would have been awkwardly too late to cancel them bagging them and asking for a refund that I realized how much I had just spent. Then when I saw the bagels, my gut just kind of dropped, cause they were not great quality bagels. But, kids had food the next morning and it wasn't the end of the world. Learned a lesson. They did cut the bagels in half which would have bothered me more if they weren't for kids but again would have been nice for them to ask first as we weren't eating them that day. However, despite the bagels, I'd still recommend trying them out, especially for coffee. They looked like they had some good bakery options, salads looked fresh and full of ingredients, and they had lots and lots on their menu! read more

I have a gluten allergy and there have been multiple times when ordering a gluten free stacker that theres a tear in the wrapping. When I go to Haes it's always with my partner who doesn't have an allergy. So our food is in a shared bag increasing the risk of cross contamination. read more

Shoutout for a woman owned business here in March. (Women's history month). Super busy so it takes about 10 minutes to get a. Up of coffee but the coffee they serve is delicious. They have some amazing looking baked goods. I saw some Gooey Butter cake in the case today and was tempted but was able to resist. I love that they go a little heavier on the spice than other places, I found the big name coffee shop to be VERY watered down in their chai. Was excited to try this place on a visit to Springfield - seemed like the drink choices were cool and yummy. Despite this establishment being called a bakery, there were next to no bakery items available to purchase. Not a lot of variety. While they do have a variety of drink choices, including for kids, the fact we couldn't have a sweet treat was disappointing. There was also a lot of what is know as the "Gen Z stare." No greeting, no 'how can I help you?' It took quite a while to get our 2 drinks. The drive thru was busy but the inside where we were was not. The Wabash location was very busy this morning (4/27/25) BUT the staff was out of control... People (including us) had to ask status of our order only to find out that it was not in their system one customer had to cancel due to how long she had to wait.. We waited almost 40 minutes in line (inside) and had to ask about our order. they could not find it but said they would make it right now. They made two of the same drink so they had to make one of our drinks again.. Our order was for 1 hot and 1 iced but they made both iced. we just decided to take what we could get and go at that point. Yes they were packed but the staff seemed to be running in circles with no direct purpose. When we finally got the drinks the person that handed them to us said nothing... No 'thank you for your patience' or anything for that matter. Be careful not to grow to fast without having a manager on site to watch over quality control because it will eventually affect the business negatively... Be prepared for large groups and long lines. ask yourself what you need to do to make your business different and how you can always be on the leading edge which in turn will allow your business to thrive. read more

We like to stop at the Jefferson location when we are passing through Springfield. We love their coffee with so many flavors and options. They post monthly and weekly specials on social media, and they always sound so delicious, so we usually end up ordering a couple. On our last visit we tried a couple different lotus drinks which were good but pretty sweet. We've gotten baked goods on a couple of occasions as well and they were equally delicious. The location is always busy, but the service is pretty quick. Now, the reason for 3 stars instead of 5, the staff is extremely rude and act like we are inconveniencing them just by ordering our drinks. We don't ask for anything special for our drinks, we order them just as they are on the menu. On our last visit specifically, they young lady at the registered never once smiled and was very cold. I understand not everyone is always happy and bad days happen but when the attitude shows that strongly then it isn't pleasant. Another young lady called out our drink's orders just a few moments later. When I collected them, I thank her and then remembered we ordered a bakery item and I said "oh, we ordered a lemon bar to go as well". In a snotty tone she said "yea they will call it out from other there" pointing to the kitchen door and I thanked her again. We hadn't ordered anything from the bakery case before, so we didn't realize that was how that worked. It was later in the day, and the bakery items were already in individual plastic to go containers inside the case, so I just assumed they pulled one out and handed it us. Which is literally what she did 30 seconds after she told me it would come out from the kitchen. She pulled it out and set it on the counter and called out "lemon bar to go". As I went to retrieve it and thank her, she was already turning her back to me and rolling her eyes as she resumed her conversation with the checkout girl right at the counter. I don't often write bad reviews. I realize that they probably had a busy day and were probably ready for it to be over. Not everyone can be bubbly and outgoing all of the time in a job dealing with customers all of the time. However, the fact that both of their attitudes were so blatantly obvious that they did not want to be there and their rudeness actually made us uncomfortable was very off putting. We are from out of town but pass through Springfield often and this has always been out favorite place to stop for coffee on our trips. In fact, this is the only place we stop in Springfield for coffee. I wouldn't stop going to any business just for a one-off instance of rude staff. Like I said, their products are great, and we love getting drinks there. But the fact that we have never once encountered a friendly employee there and if anything, it seems to be getting worse with each stop; we will be trying different place for coffee in the future. read more

We just went through the drive thru just to grab something quick before going on a walk. The line does take quite a while to get through, but they have plenty of business and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They have such a wide variety of drinks and so much to mix and match. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have as many breakfast food options. We got two breakfast burritos and two drinks that I can't remember the name of. The staff helped us pick out drinks. The drinks were a little too sweet for my liking but I'm sure if I just made a few tweaks they would be fine. The burritos were really bland, but it was the only real food option they had. Overall it is pretty decent, I would say the best thing about this place if the affordability. You get a lot for your buck. read more

Hey there friends! Wait, start over. Hae there friends! Ho! Ho! Wondering why you're hearing from me so early? Well, it's because I have to make sure you get the right cookies for me. You see, I have standards folks and those store bought cookies aren't gonna cut it this year. So, I took a page out of your playbook and decided to write a letter outlining an example of things I want. Ho! Ho! Ho! Owners: local family Location: situated on the corner of Jefferson St. & MacArthur Blvd for easy access. Drive-thru: nice wide lanes (to accommodate non-traditional vehicles and for those unexpected times when you have to get out of line quickly). Parking: ample space with smooth pavement. (Some of my reindeer can't handle potholes) Outdoor seating and cozy patio Branded Swag (hats, shirts, coffee mugs) Seasonal Drinks & Sweets Free Wifi & Apple Pay Environment: trendy and warm. I really like the sophisticated design with leather chairs, high ceilings, and windows to let in natural light. Hours: I have a lot of respect for other's when they're open 7 days a week (just like my workshop). I sampled the cookies, which are $2.25 a piece. Some flavors: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Marshmallow, M&M's, Sugar, Thumbprint (to name a few). The cookies are big, soft, and tasty! I especially liked the sugar cookie. I hear they make frosted sugar cookies too. If your looking to get something beside socks and undies, leave these cookies. Ho! Ho! Ho! Next time I'd like try a drink and hang around for longer. I didn't want anyone to see me in November as either makes people exceeding happy or annoyed. If I'm not bringing joy, I don't want to be a part of it. Lastly, to be on the extra special list I'd recommend a few things: 1.) The branding is amazing. It's streamlined, trendy, and professional. The computer printed wifi password that was taped to the wall did not share that vibe. I'd recommend adding a frame and using the same font(s) as the logo. 2.) I would get a unified dress code. Most had on a logo t-shirts of the business (but one didn't) and everyone wore whatever pants they felt like. This is a relatively minor detail, important nonetheless. (You have no idea how many "Project Runway"-esque competitions the elves had me judge before we came up with their official uniform). 3.) I'd take a look at your register and handoff procedure. I wasn't told that my order would be called out by a number found on my receipt. It was only after I watched the people before me not responding, that I figured it out. Also, a word of caution regarding employees going back and forth through the kitchen door to handoff orders: it's not the best use of efficiency and I'd hate to see an employee rocking that Rudolph nose (unless they choose it on purpose). *I'd recommend checking out the competitors (of which I worked for before becoming good ol' St. Nick). The register person should be directing customers where to pick up their order (a sign would help too). If not, customers stand in not so great places (like in front of the pastry case, next to the line, in front of the kitchen door swinging back and forth). Additionally, the employees aren't being efficient. Which is why you may see there's usually a dedicated register person, pastry runner, drink maker, etc. Trust me, millions of dollars have gone into determining the most efficient processes that produce great results and conserve employees energy. (Google: Spaghetti map, diagram or chart. Observe the flow of your business and try new things). 4.) The treats are wonderful! I'd work on the presentation of the pastry case. If the items are examples of what's available, I'd plate those examples. Little risers to create depth and interest. Perhaps some "props" like fresh evergreen twigs, burlap ribbon, etc. I'd encourage you to find someone who does hand-lettering to write the names of the pastries being offered. 5.) Lastly, I heard the name of the business comes from your daughter's names? I love that! Can you incorporate something about them into the mix? Like a favorite flavor of the week, inspired by one of those kiddos, with a little blurb next to it. I'd apply that to other items, as it was mentioned that there are family recipes being used. Absolutely love this place! Their seasonal selections are so yummy. We came here in October and we got seasonal drinks and some seasonal cookies and I can't get the candy corn cookie out of my head! It was sooooo good! It hardly even tasted like candy corn (to me... I'm weird) but it tasted like white chocolate or something! I don't know but it was phenomenal. I completely agree with Angela A's , er uh Santa's, review from about a year ago, which was the first review. My brother invited to meet him there. I was visiting from out of town and we could meet here about halfway point for both of us, so points for that convenience. It is moderns and clean. I wish he had told me it was all black and huge, I would have seen it a lot sooner. I was looking for a smaller place, lol. But the inside is not as large as the outside. The ambience was clean and modern Midwest. You could see the do a lot of drive through business. They have several tables for people who wish to plant themselves there, but it was 7:30am, and I was the only customer inside for a time on this Saturday morning two weeks ago. I had the avacado toast on the everything bagel. They gave me a smooth , almost guacamole, with the warm toasted bagel, and I enjoyed that. My brother got the biscuits and gravy. And we split a cinnamon roll. Plus a coffee each. I thought the coffee was good, not too weak and not too strong, not a donut shop taste either. I think I chose a Guatemalan if that's a thing there. Everything came out to us by a server through side kitchen door, and brought to our table. It was all packaged to go, even though we were staying to chat. I would have liked to see my brother eating that biscuit and gravy (at least his third time ordering it) on a real plate with a metal fork. Just would have seemed a little more rooted or personal. But I have to tell you all, I have been thinking about that cinnamon roll. I want another one. I remember saying I wish we hadn't shared one because I wanted it ALLLLL. My brother laughed as we remembered all the things we used to have to share growing up flash before our minds and that knowing look that next time, we won't be sharing. I am already certain I will be coming here next time I am in town in a couple months to have that cinnamon roll again. I like to give new places a little time to work the kinks out, because I totally understand that that's part of opening a new business. Unfortunately, it seems like there are still some kinks to be worked out, as I sat in the drive through for over 20 minutes before ordering. With that being said, when I asked the girl at the window if they would have time to make my drink (at that point I was close to being late for a doctor's appointment) she assured me they would make it right now and have it out shortly. The latte was made super quick and I made my appointment- totally appreciate her making it happen. Chai latte was delicious. Best I've had in town. Overall, I would definitely return, mainly because of how good the customer service was once I got to the window. The ambience is truly nice. They've spent a decent amount of time and money on interior design. There is very welcoming and inviting environment. Service is unfortunately lacking. There were several teenagers at the counter and running the whole shop basically. They seemed the least enthusiastic about their job. Frequently they were wiping their nose or biting Naik or playing with their faces/hair while/just before handling food and beverages. Yea not very smart in this day and age. None of the food handlers had hair nets or wore any gloves. Coffee was a joke. I had the brewed coffee (medium roast) which tasted like hot water with a sprinkle of nestle ready made coffee powder. The i went back to get an espresso. It was way over extra yes, sour and just foul. It is sad because I can tell the machine they have is a quality espresso machine, but the staff don't know how to caliber ate it to the coffee beans they use and don't adjust the feuding based on the coffee beans etc. so coffee is over extracted. Every food we tried was mediocre at best: egg sandwich (no taste, had to unload salt and pepper), muffin, bagel etc. This place has a lot of potential and I hope the owners would find a way to get the right personnel in there, maybe at least a caring manager who is older than 25 years to start with. I like a good coffee, can't stand paying 6 dollars for a cup of hot water. Further I am a health care worker and can't stand the sight of poor hygiene when it comes to my food. Unfortunately I won't go back, until major changes take place. read more

My wife and I swung by on a Sunday afternoon. The place was definitely buzzing. My wife had a moca and I had a hot chocolate. Our beverages were good. The price was about what I expected to pay ($ 4.50/20 oz beverage.) There's some seating, not a lot, and looks like there could be room for more. When warmer weather arrives it looks like the patio will be a nice place to sit. We will probably come back at some point some day, but nothing about this place screams to me to go there for a great time. I don't plan to bring my kids here. read more

I've been wanting to try Hae's for a while. The building alone is huge, beautiful, and looks like it would be a great new place to hang out. The first time we went we had our baby and toddler in the car so we went through the drive-thru. The intercom system where you usually order at in a drive-thru was broken, so after looking at the menu, we had to try and remember our orders and order at the first window. The woman working at the first window completely lacked any welcoming expression when we pulled up. It's just a drive thru coffee and I know the hiring pool isn't the best right now, so I brushed it off. My husband asked what was in their Lucky Charm latte and the woman had no idea, acted super annoyed with the question, and went to ask someone else. After ordering and paying for two lattes, two cookies, and a cinnamon roll, we pulled forward waited for at least 10 minutes before anyone came to the second window. At that point, cars behind us were getting out of line and leaving. A different woman eventually came to the window and said there were no more cinnamon rolls and gruffly asked what we wanted instead. Not having the menu, we just opted for another cookie because we were tired of waiting and wanted to get out of there. I realized that cinnamon rolls cost almost twice as much as a cookie, so my husband asked if we could get a refund for the difference and the woman rudely replied that she put two cookies in the bag so we would have to give her back the cookies if we want to do that. It would have been nice if she had at least communicated to us that she substituted two cookies for the cinnamon roll. At this point, our babies in the back were getting fussy and impatient (as babies tend to do when the car isn't moving) so I actually had to get out of the car and tend to them while we waited several more minutes. We finally got our two drinks and left. The drinks were underwhelming and didn't really have any discernible flavoring, much less "Lucky Charm," (ie. white chocolate, marshmallow, and Irish creme). That first time was a pretty bad experience, but we will decided to give Hae's another shot this weekend. We went inside and the vibe was an attempt at modern industrial and had a significantly smaller seating area than it appears it would from the outside--yet oddly, was very sparsely furnished. The menu has some baked goods, but by no means would I call it a "bakery." The employee at the register (the same woman who was at the first drive-thu window during our first visit) was somehow even more unwelcoming to everyone who came inside than she was at the drive-thru. All of the breakfast sandwiches, etc. were on the Grab-and-Go section of the menu, so I asked her if their breakfast sandwiches were hot or if it was truly just grab-and-go cold sandwich, like at a gas station. She told me to look at the menu and then pointed at the menu. (Owners: this employee needs to go--her rude attitude and complete and utter lack of customer service at the customer's first point of contact will kill this new business's first impression on the community.) That still didn't answer my question, so I went ahead and just ordered a breakfast burrito so I could escape the awkwardness of the situation. When the food was called (by number, though no one tells you they will call the number on your receipt) the breakfast burrito was extremely hot on the two ends, but when I got to the middle section of the it was ice cold. Before leaving, we ordered a GF brownie for my mom, who is gluten intolerant. Eventually, a woman came out of the kitchen and told us they could substitute a regular butter cake, although it wasn't gluten free. I wasn't sure what a butter cake was but said I couldn't do that because of the gluten intolerance, so she offered to replace it with a GF brownie instead....which is what we ordered to begin with. She gave us a brownie that looked like it had a chunk taken out of it and we got the heck out of there. What a mess. I hate saying this about a local, family-owned business that is trying to get off the ground, but it was disappointing on so many levels and didn't have anything to redeem itself. We definitely won't be back unless we are really desperate to find something open on Sunday and have a lot of time to kill. read more

The coffee is good, but beware they continue after several months of correcting their error to overcharge for their basic blended coffee. When repeatedly pointing this out they seem offended.
