They also allow you to walk up and order as well, as that is what I did and several others did too. Ample parking behind the building if you want to park and enjoy your beverage on the tables they have. On a beautiful day, that is what I recommend doing. My Iced Caramel Latte was pretty good, just wish the caramel flavoring was more in the drink and not drizzled on the whip cream, but man... that whip cream was amazing with it on there. read more

The celebration of cultural degeneration aside, this is the best Americano in Springfield, although Railyard is a surprisingly close second. The drive-through mostly set-up is a novelty and I didn't hate it. Springfield also isn't busy enough for the wait to be too much, although the wait at Hae's seems egregious. They seem to hire mostly young women and they are pleasantly unsurly. It is hard to screw up an Americano but it happens all the time. These guys don't. read more

I always visit the Chatham Rd location but I don't see a page for that location. But I had to review my thoughts on Grab A Java! This is the BEST coffee shop! Their chai is INCREDIBLE! Starbucks is trash compared to this gem! Love their art! read more

I like the convenience of the location and the coffee. The line was not too long but they're kinda slow on service. The customer service was not bad. I did feel like for a small coffee the price was a bit much for the size of the cup. I've gotten more coffee for less at other spots. The coffee is bold and I enjoyed it.. I don't think I personally would be a regular but I am very much delighted to know they have a variety of pastries and chai lattes and teas. I will be back for that next visit. read more

My Saturday morning stop at Grab A Java is something that I look forward to all week long. Their coffee is fantastic and their iced soy latte is one of the best cups of coffee that I've ever tasted. As a self proclaimed coffee addict, I've had my fair share of caffeine and Grab A Java is near the top of my list of favorites. A great local spot that fairly pays their employees. Coffee is super great and so are the workers. A note: ask BEFORE your transaction is complete to add a tip. Please do this. You will not be given an option after the transaction to add a tip. So while you order, say "I'd like to order a medium coffee and please add a $____ tip". This is common courtesy. read more

This place is amazing! Do yourself a huge favor- skip the long Starbucks lines and come here! It's cheaper, it's faster, and it is way better. This small, locally owned business is a Springfield gem. I had an iced dirty chai and it seriously might be the best chai latte I have ever had! The pistachio muffins are particularly delicious, as are the ham and cheese tarts! Really, everything is delicious. Plus, the staff are always so sweet and helpful. You seriously can't go wrong here- I strongly recommend!!! read more

After 4 1/2 years of working at this little shop, I'm moving to the big city of Chicago. The only thing I'll miss more than Grab-A-Java is my family. Voted "Best of Springfield" in the Illinois Times twice. I can never find coffee as good as the stuff here. The Vanilla Nut Creme is to die for! The owners are really cool people, and always willing to help out the customers, employees and community. Plus, it's a drive-thru, so you don't have to get out of your car in crappy weather. Walk-ups are tolerated more than encouraged. The staff is well trained and knowledgeable. They try very hard to remember regular customers' drinks and pride themselves on trying to get them ready BEFORE you're at the window. Remember -- friends don't let friends drink Starbucks. The Numi tea is delicious, as is their coffee. Friendly and fast service. I like their business model, and I hate to bash them, but... Tried the raspberry scone, however, and disliked it. Kind of hard (overbaked?) and the raspberry flavor just didn't work (not a good scone flavor, I think). Cafe Moxo or Incredibly Delicious has much better baked goods. read more

Not impressed. I expected to be blown away after reading Kristina's review. Then again, I drink coffee, not banana rama jama mocha lattes, so if you want a flavored bev, this could be the place, I can't speak to that. If you want a plain old cup of jo or a capp/espresso, not so much. read more

The prospect of being able to drive through and get my coffee fix without getting out of the car is on my top 10 list of most convenient things. When my friend told me that such convenience (and quality!) could be found in Springfield, IL I was skeptical. We approached the tiny shack with a rather "groovy" looking sign and were immediately greeted and told the special of the day. Although I am normally an espresso drinker, at the recommendation of my friend, I chose a flavored iced latte, no whip. The associate running this one woman show did not even flinch. She whipped us up two deliciously refreshing iced coffee beverages. What works for Grab-A-Java is that they do not skimp on the coffee flavor in their more sugary, dessert beverages so they will still pack a caffeine punch and... *gasp* taste like coffee! read more

Seriously the best espresso in Springfield. Give it a try and I promise you will forget about Starbucks. I have had several different drinks, lattes, etc, but I haven't tried the drip coffee. I can make that at home, but I can't make a killer pumpkin spice latte at home, so that's what I splurge on here. The broccoli, egg, and cheese tart is a great choice for breakfast. Also, I don't have to get out of the car, so that's a definite win. read more
