Banana Pudding Doughnut: Krispy Kreme (KK) has a fantastic origin story. Allegedly, founder Vernon Rudolph bought the recipe for his original doughnuts from a New Orleans barge chef. I just think it's neat that the KK doughnut recipe might have some ties to beignets or other French cuisine. Wherever the recipe came from, there's truly something special about their original glazed doughnuts that transcends the genre. As part of their 2026 Spring Collection, KK has revived one of my favorites (yes, it was introduced in 2020 and I have a picture to prove it), the Banana Pudding Doughnut. The official description from KK is "An unglazed shell doughnut filled with banana pudding Kreme, dipped in vanilla flavored icing, and topped with crushed wafer cookies and buttercreme flavored dollop." My doughnut was a bright yellow color teeming with crushed wafer cookies (at least on half of it). This is my first minor complaint. The doughnut looked more visually appealing in 2020 with the 2026 version instead opting for a "Two-Face" look. Most of the flavor comes from the vanilla icing, except for the couple of bites that contain the sweet banana Kreme (my second complaint, there could have been a little more Kreme). I've had issues with missing or incorrectly flavored filling from KK, but when they do it right, it's divine. The banana and vanilla paired nicely and reminded me of why KK is my favorite doughnut chain when things go smoothly. Although it's an artificial banana flavor, it is well done and is not overly candy-like. The only other banana filled doughnut I've encountered has been at Voodoo Doughnut and KK's version is a worthy competitor for those unable to access Voodoo. Showed up to buy donuts and out of all types including regular glazed. Store was also closed and it was drive thru only.

Fast & friendly service! Donut holes and coffee was good, curious to try the glazed version of the coffee. You can order ahead in app, and get rewards but mine doesnt work would definitely recommend. read more

Stopped at this location yesterday and had a GREAT experience. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who waited on me. He was friendly, kind and helpful. His customer service skills are EXCELLENT and we had a nice chat. My favorite Krispy Kreme donut is the chocolate covered creme filled. I got four of them and when I got home, OMG they were so scrumptious. I ended up eating two of them right then and ate the other two for breakfast this morning. They were nice and fresh with lots of chocolate on top and filled with sweet white creme. I look forward to going back soon and getting some more. Back in the day, before Krispy Kreme opened here in Springfield, when you could only find them in gas stations, they were my favorite. In fact, every once in a great while they'll have a special donut like a peanut butter cup donut and it will be great. But my son and I were craving donuts the other day and drive through the drive up and ordered. There had no apple fritters or any form of apple donut, they were out of two other type of donuts and when I asked for an unsweetened tea they said they no longer have tea. We got four donuts and left. I ate my two upon returning home. I had a crime filled and a lemon filled. They were both extremely dry and I honestly didn't think there was any lemon in the one until I reached my last two bites. We won't be back unless they offer a special. read more

Their donuts don't look perfectly round as we're use to in California but what matters are the cleanliness and they got friendly people :)

My favorite place to get doughnuts but the staff leaves much to be desired. Jurnee raised her voice at an elderly gentleman who was standing in line for a cup of coffee. No smiles from anyone except who I assume was the manager. Getting doughnuts is to be a happy occasion the staff made it clear to take my food and go somewhere else. I always stop through at least once when passing through Springfield. This store is run efficiently to where you don't wait and will not be displeased by the product. They have a wide variety of doughnuts and occasionally have a seasonal/limited time offer doughnut. You can tell the management runs this place correctly to always deliver a pleasing experience to all customers read more

We LOVE them! We buy at least two dozen a week. It's a guilty pleasure for our family! Lol Nothing beats the double dark donuts and we love their tiramisu donuts when they are in season. Customer service is generally friendly. There are one or two employees there in particular that seem like they don't have time for you and rush you, but for the most part they are all friendly. read more

Two of the reviews are unfounded. One about election day free. It's free, go thru the drive thru. And the other is about the ingredients....come on....everything that tastes this good isn't with out extras. Now about my visit.....Terri was great on the phone and again in person this morning as I stopped by to get donuts for our meeting.....They smell wonderful and I can't wait to enjoy them with the guys. read more

I've stopped in here a couple of times. Nice atmosphere and friendly employees. Donuts taste good. However on my last stop in they decided not to brew decaf coffee anymore. Instead they make a Keurig cup for you. $2 for a cup of Keurig coffee is ridiculous. The staff was friendly and politely refunded my money for the coffee and the donuts. Hopefully they decide it's better to just make a pot of decaf rather than getting cheap and serving a low quality product. It makes me wonder where else they are cutting corners. Who goes out for coffee to get a Keurig made coffee? If they go back to brewing the coffee and not using a Keurig I'd say this is a 4 or 5 star place. read more
