Terrible service. Unsure of ingredients in their menu items. Worst DD in the area - stay away.

So when work brought me to Katonah, my first move--before coffee, before common sense--was a full sprint to Goldberg's. Let me say this: the experience was equal parts exhilarating and comforting... like running into an old friend who still makes things the way they're supposed to be made. I went for a sampler of my personal classics. The everything bagel? Phenomenal. The chew, the texture, the flavor--it transported me straight back home. The scallion cream cheese was easily one of the best I've had. If I had a complaint, it's that the bagel leaned a bit heavy on the salt. And yes, I did the unthinkable and left some of the outer layer behind. I know. I'm not proud of it. Next up: the chicken salad and coleslaw--my deli litmus tests. The chicken salad was a strong 9/10--again, just slightly salt-forward--but still excellent. The house-made coleslaw? A full 10/10. I would absolutely come back and eat a gallon of it without hesitation or shame. Now... the heartbreak. I ordered a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a hard roll. I understand this is a bagel establishment, so maybe the roll isn't the star of the show--but this one was tough, crusty, and pretty lifeless. But the real offense? What I received was not Taylor ham. Not even close. Some kind of regular ham situation was happening, and to make matters worse, the sandwich was barely filled. As you'll see in the photo--it felt borderline criminal. That said, the service? Outstanding. Truly. Everyone was friendly, professional, and welcoming. They treated me like a regular even though it was my first time in, which goes a long way. All in all, I'm really glad I stopped in. It absolutely scratched that homesick itch for a real bagel and deli experience--and more importantly, it reassured me that places like this still exist. Next time, I'm sticking to the bagels... and ordering that coleslaw by the bucket. By the way, it earns three stars compared to its other New York Metro local delis... This would be a 12 star establishment in the north west corner of Connecticut

As you can tell by the existence of this review, I had decided to get to Bellmore I would park in the parking lot next to this business until I got back. This place does kind of give me a Rocky Balboa vibe upon entering, which isn't a bad thing at all. Some of the names of the menu items are even inspired from the movies such as The Balboa and The Italian Stallion. Beyond that, this place does take a little learning, but ordering is pretty simple once you know what you're doing. You don't pay for the order until you get your food, and you pay right by the front door. This is something I could see going awry if the wrong kind of people were to come here and requires an amount of trust in the customers that can make some nervous people uncomfortable. Really though, beyond that the service here is really good. I did have to remind the cashier to get my bill right when it was my turn to pay, so there is also that to consider. I did The Spartan Stack and some Mac and cheese bites because when I was returning to Katonah, I NEEDED something to eat right there and then. The Spartan Stack let me tell you got the spot just right, and I did appreciate some healthier ingredients such as cucumber in there. The Mac and cheese bites are a newer item as was The Spartan Stack, and those were pretty tasty. You get a chipotle sauce to dip them in, and let me just say that it does actually pack a punch of heat! All in all, a really satisfying lunch and I'm glad I came here. It's actually a great spot if you're commuting from the Katonah Station and it's very convenient. A good place indeed.

The scenic route up adds to the mystique of what you hope to be a mystical ménage a trois of flavor, texture and relief from the great icy meal known as ice cream. It was a Sunday afternoon, in June... I lied, it was July. But it's July now? Keep up. Daunting day. The sky filled with thunder and water to wash away the spring of heat that leaped us into proper summer. Tan - looking like the man - I toss on my beater and jump in the whip with my foreman (forewoman.) We set off for our journey knowing we had a time limit - I needed to return to see the Norwegians Renaissance. The dismantling of the Joga-Bonitoless Brazilians. The beauty and cruelty of calcio. So I skip-to-the-Lou my darlings... we park in a strange parking lot and line dance our way to an ever growing crowd on a strange day and time and weather for people to be here. However, must I remind the folks... the line was full of Westchesterites crawling through a desert for a dessert. Yes you read that right. Westchester is a dessert desert. No truly top tier ice cream - all, in my experience, relatively good/great. And so, although the king karries the name... you could label me as suspicious. Exceedingly, not relatively, suspicious As the Inspector Clouseau I am, lovely weather we are having... I knew my suspicions were likely reality. It was likely that a starved civilization of Westchester, desperate for an amazing cold cream would overhype a nostalgically good option to stardom. So, my final thoughts. Is it fatal? If so... how fatal? Good question, and better answer coming... as always. Stay with me here I'm going to go rapid fire - In dire need to wrap this up. This is good ice cream. It's not great. It's not worth a 30 min drive. The price is simply outrageous. Up there with the greatest price gauges I've seen. If you want to argue there's no quality ice cream shortage in the county then tell me how in Katonah, King Kone is charging these prices? And finally, the staff here is INCREDIBLY RUDE. Read my reviews. I rarely even mention the service. But if you're the king, you better serve me like I'm a queen. This staff is disappointingly brutal. If I'm in a pinch I'll flinch before giving this place my Da Vinc. It's good. It's not a great. It's not King. It deserves its Kone but not it's Krown. I'm tickling to give this joint 3 stars for the full experience but I'll stay impartial. I'll stay real. I've give ya a good deal. A lucky 4. A clover... I'll maybe be back - but this review is over.
