I had just seen Donut Dip pop up in an online article as the best donut place in Massachusetts and so I had to stop. Donut Dip is an old school donut shop, a large selection of a wide variety of flavors are on display. The short line moved quickly and I ordered an Apple Fritter and a Chocolate topped custard stick for the road. The price was a bit higher than I expected but the donuts were big and looked great and I wanted some food for the road so I didn't have to stop. The Apple Fritter was good, however it seemed to be a bit light on actual apple piece and while tasty it just wasn't anything special. The Custard stick was excellent, the custard was rich and luscious which nicely balanced the perfectly fried donut, the topping was thick and chocolaty giving the donut an old school feel. Although I didn't have a long visit I would say that overall Donut Dip has very good to great donuts. The shop feels classic and if I was nearby I would love to try some of the other flavors. I brought the rest (strawberry sprinkle, apple cider, glazed) home for the family to try and each one was distinct and well made. You can tell these are freshly made each day.
