We stopped for coffee on our way out of town after an overnight stay. This place is worth going out of your way for - probably the best coffee shop experience ever. The counter guy was extremely welcoming and helpful. The lattes were just perfect. Strong delicious espresso with creamy foam. The owner was a gentleman. Excellent selection of coffee, my wife loved the blueberry morning coffee, and I loved the espresso. This is one of the few places that gives you a huge double shot. This place is interesting. It's the only coffee shop I could find that's open on a Saturday afternoon in downtown Springfield. They have lots of coffee options, and flavors. I got the Pistachio Ice cream flavor, which is very unique and tasty. The coffee was $2.60, a price that's unheard of. I was very pleased with it. However, the establishment itself is very odd, and uninviting, for a lack of better language. It felt like I walked into a private gathering. The young man, after he served my friend and I, sat down on his lap top and went to work, among a group of his friends. There was a group of about ten, it's unclear who actually works at the coffee shop, and who's a customer. All of them were hanging out, there was hardly any seating left. When a customer walks in someone will assist, then go back to socializing. I suppose this is fine, but it's not inviting, it's like I'm interrupting something. I have to note, while it's worthy going here for coffee, it's not a good choice to go for food. They have a small selection of deserts, pastries and bagels. The baklava was far from fresh, it was dry and has been sitting around for days. I recommend this place, only for coffee on the go. read more

The service was good, if slow. The shop was hot as blazes: no air or even a fan. I ordered an iced latte and was charged .75 for ice. Really? I get paying for oat milk and a flavor shot, but ice? My drink was pretty good, but I even asked for light ice. I'm not a fan of places that charge for ice so I won't return. read more

The how is via the various coffee options you can have ground up so it'll be in your cup plus they can also adjust your coffee in case you like your coffee a certain way. Came here today after have been wanting to try this place for a while but couldn't since I'm not from around the area. The man working (I'm assuming the owner) was very attentive and answered all my questions. I told him I don't like the added sugars or anything like that. He understood and made me exactly what I didn't know I needed. The coffee was so good. It wasn't extremely sweet and I could actually taste coffee!! My boyfriend and I were soooo confused with the service we got at this place. The server/barista was nice but... he seemed so blankly confused about his job lol. Boyfriend asked for "the ice XL coffee, no sugar and no cream." And the server started making the drink and asked "iced?" And we said.. yes. And he then asked again, "cream?".... no.... "sugar or syrup?".... no......... and then he asked again, "so.. you said no cream but yes sugar right?" Wtf lol how many times we gotta say it? Lol then for my drink, I asked for a "large iced cafe latte with SF vanilla syrup" and he asks "how much coffee to milk ratio do you want?" And I'm like "what lol??... you tell me?" I had an hour to kill between buses, so I was jazzed to see this place pop up on Yelp instead of settling for Dunkin or McDonalds at the Peter Pan station. I ordered a large vanilla latte (only $3.47!). The barista prepared it perfectly, but he left the lid off so I could taste it to make sure it was to my liking (he said he'd be happy to add more sweetener or espresso). I don't live in Springfield anymore, but I strongly encourage those who do to stop here instead of the corporate coffee joints in town. First off let me start off by saying "Mocha Emporium" is the standard on how business should be conducted. I was greeted pleasantly and professionally by the employees as soon as I entered this renowned establishment. I was offered a hot cup of coffee to which I accepted with no hesitation and the utmost excitement. (I was tired from babysitting my great uncles hamster and a hot cup of joe was just what I was in need of.) the coffee came out swiftly and elegantly just the way I like it. It had just the right amount of peppermint creamer as well as just the perfect amount of Splenda. (I'm a diabetic so real cane sugar is not something I can consume... UNFORTUNATELY. Oh my how I wish I could! Well anyways the coffee was just amazing! I started chit chatting with owner name Sultan. Funny thing is that is my goldfishes name.. SMALL WORLD!! We started talking about solar panels and all the benefits of them. I was immediately interested due to the fact I'm a Biden supporter. VOTE BLUE! Though I don't normally review places after a single experience, this place left me with a most pleasant feeling, so here goes. Tea, not coffee, is my cafe drink of choice, and, if I am going to pay $2 to $3 for a cup of hot water, I want an aromatic cup of tea that leaves me with a happy feeling and a pleasant taste in my mouth. While on my way from western MA to my home in CT, I took a wrong exit for a gas station and ended up in downtown Springfield and decided to make the best of it by stopping for a warm beverage. So it was that fate brought me to this place, an unassuming little cafe on a corner near some office buildings not far from the bus station. The shop itself was pleasant, though a bit austere, without features such as comfy chairs, newspapers and games that can be found in my favorite cafes. In its defense, it was well matched to the area and to its likely weekday customer base of office workers. My rating, if I had the choice, would be 4.5 stars for that reason. The perfect cafe, for my taste, has wonderful tea and a more homey atmosphere, and serves drinks consumed in house in mugs. On the other hand, the floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides would be good for people watching on a nicer day. It was near closing time on a Saturday, but the place had a decent vibe, and a very large selection of coffee beans neatly displayed in clear plastic dispensers. The employee was friendly, though not effusive, which suited me, for in that moment I desired the company of a cup of tea and some reading material more than conversation. The tea was loose tea, hand-loaded into a mesh bag, served in a paper cup. I put a little sugar in it, sat down to take in my milieu while the tea cooled enough to drink. My olfactory sensors registered a first impression; the pleasant aromaticity augured well. As it cooled, input from gustatory and olfactory sensors combined, releasing a cascade of neurotransmitters that told me I had made the right choice. Though closing time arrived before the tea ran out, the employee seemed in no hurry to shoo me out, so I stayed around a while, slowly sipping, enjoying the moment while he cleaned up. As I made my way back to the car, the warmth of the tea in my belly fortified me against the cold, for which I was under-dressed, and the pleasant taste in my mouth took my mind off of the momentary discomfort. On subsequent trips through Springfield I will seek this place out for more of that delicious tea. The diverse coffee selection should make it an attractive choice for coffee drinkers. This place has a broader selection and a more welcoming vibe than the giant down the street, and my tea was far superior to anything I have ever been served by the mermaid's minions. read more

Confused about the good reviews. Coffee was nothing special and bakery was wrapped in plastic to avoid going stale. No newspapers to read and counter where you order was pretty much covered with a box of plastic wrapped energy bars and business cards for local businesses. Neighborhood not great, lots of homeless. Decor was cluttered with plastic buckets, trays, power cord, stacks of cold cups. Service was friendly, but overall experience would be much nicer if the place were tidied. The best addition to downtown in 10 years! This gourmet, affordable coffee and tea shop is a family-owned business that is clearly driven by family- and community-values. They offer a huge selection of FRESH roasted gourmet beans from all over the world. I love their "coffee of the day" samplers and decadent cakes. The bagels are true, New York bagels -- they even offer lox and cream cheese! Sandwiches are simple (egg/tuna salad, beef, turkey) but very affordable, and with a selection of breads (sandwich-sized Thomas' English muffin, sliced breads, bulkie roll, etc.). It has quickly become a favorite, daily stop! I've lived downtown for 12 years and have yearned for an addition as good as or better than Hot Table -- now it's finally arrived! read more
