There was a long line and the staff was friendly and amazing on keeping the line moving as best as they can. Sure it's hot out and everyone seems to be wanting ice cream so we were patient while the orders were being taken. Clean and well maintained shop. They also have a cafe inside which we have never been in. My ultimate favorite...Queen of Hearts! Dark chocolate ice cream with raspberry swirls and fudge filled hearts. So good! I prefer hard ice cream over soft serve. This is the only flavor I get. Hubby likes soft serve so he usually gets the vanilla or hot fudge Sunday. The place has tables with umbrellas for outside seating. Some days they have a small band playing live which we have seen from the road but never listened... not sure if it's a specific day they do this. There was no drinks or coffee, other than skim milk, which I got. It was good because it was freezing cold. Doughnut places in Mass like to charge 2 or 3 dollars per doughnut. This was not the case at Harrison Bakery. After I entered, it seemed like the place got really busy. When I returned to my car, there were alot of vehicles in the lot than when I arrived. The only thing that stood out to me was that there wasn't much of a greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, but it wasn't a huge issue. The seating was okay. The chair I chose wasn't the most comfortable for an extended stay, but it got the job done. There was also some rock music playing during my visit, which helped create a casual atmosphere. I didn't order any coffee or food this time around, so I can't speak to the menu yet. This visit was more about finding a place to work and unwind for a bit. Would I come back? Yes. While I'm still searching for my go-to coffee lounge in Syracuse, Recess is definitely a spot I'd visit again.
