The lady (with zero personality) waiting on my daughter in law told her that she would have to get the racket restrung and pay for the stringing. The strings came loose because the knots were not holding. It is unfortunate that what could be a good shop has such lousy customer service and they don't stand behind their work. I called Sun and Snow and Conner took the time to rummage all through the inventory to see what he could find before I made the 45 minute drive there. He ended up finding a board a little bigger then what I thought I was looking for but he was extreme knowledgeable and assured me the board was a good size for her (after providing her height and weight)He was also able to recommend the best type of binding for a beginner snowboarder (something I knew nothing about) We drove there and spent maybe 30 minutes total in the store!! He had everything set aside for me . We made sure everything fit and he was able to get the bindings on and adjustment made pretty quickly! Connor was friendly , knowledgeable and great talking with my four kids as we waited. Sun and snow saved the day and we had a great ski trip!

We also visited a few stores, Claire's and Bath and Body Works for her and Von Maur for me to see as I had never seen one before. It met our needs for a rainy day and not something I do often. Our local mall closest to home is outdoors, but a traditional enclosed mall is 20 minutes away. This was only 10 minutes or less from our hosts' home. This mall was very busy on a rainy September weekend, though there was plenty of outdoor parking available in the mall lot. I would like to note that this mall has very attractive and well maintained restrooms, not always the case with large malls.

The shop was staffed by three college kids all having a great time hanging out and cutting up while business was quite slow. I think some visitors may have been put off but they were incredibly friendly and invited me into their convo. They even had free snacks and refreshments laid out on a table for anyone to grab. The store has a generous assortment of outdoor gear and a better cashback/rewards plan than REI. There were lots more unique items to ogle here and I spent a lot of time wondering if I needed a lot of things I'm glad I didn't end up buying. Backpacks, shoes, clothing, etc. About what you'd imagine for this kind of place. But a more fun environment with that "never know what you might find" feel. They seem to hold onto inventory that went out of style years ago. Makes it unique. Prices were high, as they tend to be for branded outdoor goods. I finally settled on an Osprey day-pack. I ended up driving to the store but they didn't have the item that I wanted. Still, the store didn't have a bare wall or empty space as it was packed with merch. They also have "outlet"/ clearance/ final sale items in the back of the store. One employee was rude to me - I tried on a jacket but wasn't sure about the fit. She asked me with an attitude - how do you expect it to fit?
