He was so nice and helped explain every process. He worked great with my renters. I would recommend him to my friends and family.

I really wish I had some before and during photos. The bathroom is completed redone, new light fixture, toilet, beautiful glass walk in shower. He did a very nice thorough job with the tile work. We've had him remodel another bathroom in our house. He communicated when he would have the job completed, the process was easy and best result is we have a beautiful new bathroom.

We needed drywall, insulation, and air conditioning to make a clean, usable space. Everything about the garage is non-standard. Brandon went into problem solving mode, adding studs and ceiling joists as needed to accommodate standard drywall sheets. When the wall air conditioner didn't fit properly, Brandon created a "letterbox" with moldings that made it fit and gave it a nice, finished look. He also reengineered the garage door track brackets and added lighting, switches and a frame to make installing a second door easy in the future. Brandon also got us out of a pinch when a delivery crew couldn't figure out how to hook up new appliances in our ADU. He added proper electrical hook ups and got everything in and running great the same day. Brandon is a skilled and experienced carpenter, handles all manner of home repair, and also co-owns a haul away service that charges very reasonable rates. Brandon is flexible, easy to work with, and never upsells. An image of the finished garage project appears below.

After contacting a few wood working shops, Marcus Salmeron from "My Wood Shop" was the only one interested in helping me out with my wife's restoration project. Marcus quoted me a reasonable restoration price estimate, so I dropped my antique Etagere off at his workshop in Riverside. Two weeks later, I picked up my wife's beautifully restored Etagere, which had all new larger hardwood replacement shelves, freshly stained and clear coated. It looks brand new! I gave Marcus a 5-Star rating, but I wished I could have provided him a "10-Star rating, instead." Marcus, thank you!!

After getting a few quotes, we decided to go with SoCal Woodworks, and I'm so glad we did. James and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with: professional, punctual, courteous, and always respectful of our home. James patiently addressed all of our questions and offered thoughtful, expert guidance, especially when we found ourselves wavering over details (who knew choosing the perfect shade of blue could take 20 minutes?). The craftsmanship and attention to detail were truly exceptional. The final result is stunning, and I'm already looking forward to working with them on future projects.

I originally hired James about 8 years ago when we first purchased our builder-grade home. He extended our kitchen cabinets, added crown molding, and completed additional wood trim and detail work. They did an amazing job, and James was wonderful to work with. Because of that experience, when we recently had a horrible leak that required us to replace our entire kitchen island, pantry, and flooring, along with a few upgrades I had been wanting to do, James was one of the first people I reached out to. His wife was incredibly nice, accommodating, and understanding of our situation. James came out the following Saturday, took measurements, and spent time discussing the repairs and upgrades I wanted done. Then--nothing. I was completely ghosted. If he was too busy to take on the project, I would have completely understood. If the project was too small or simply wasn't something he wanted to take on, that's okay too. But after being a returning customer and taking the time to have him come out, measure everything, and discuss the project, I feel like I at least deserved the courtesy of a response. I called James directly and left a voicemail with no response. His wife had also confirmed my email address before he came out, so there were multiple ways to simply let me know they weren't interested or available. It's really unfortunate because I reached back out specifically because of the great experience we had with James 8 years ago. I would have happily continued recommending So Cal Woodwork to family and friends. Unfortunately, after being treated this way as a returning customer, I can no longer recommend them. Such a disappointing ending to what had previously been a very positive experience.
