My husband, who grew up in Milan mentioned it, and I thought it would be worth checking out. The interior isn't much, just the meat counter and prep area in the back. But then, I'm not there to be sold anything other than meat, so I don't need anything fancy. The selection was good, they had pork, beef, chicken, and even some soy sausage. I loaded up on ground beef, huge chicken breasts, boneless pork chops and thick-cut bacon, all for $14. Much less expensive than the grocery store! Plus I'm supporting a local business. I didn't really ask where they source thier meat from, so I'm not sure if it's free-range chicken or anything. I'll look into that next time. The price will definitely keep me coming back. I've only cooked the chicken thus far, but the quality was good.

From best to least it was Ribs, Brisket, Smoked Wings, and then the Pulled Pork. I would get the ribs and brisket again, but probably pass on the wings and pulled pork. The Bbq beans were only okay, oddly enough as cold leftovers they were much better. The Mac N Cheese was okay, but I wouldn't get it again. The Mashed Potatoes were very good. The spicy Cream Corn was excellent, they weren't lying it has a spicy kick! Funny enough the best thing was the Cornbread. It was fantastic, some of the best I've had. The worst thing? The sauces. They all were not good at all. The most tolerable one is their regular sauce, still a c minus. The service was good, but I was asked how I was doing about a hundred times. Still everyone was friendly. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? If I was in Lansing then Yes. It is quality bbq cooked by someone with skill. I just might bring my own bbq sauce.

They do an amazing job at having good prices and fresh cuts of meat available. Personally, I prefer buying my meat from a local place and being able to support local businesses. If you happen to drive by Milan it's worth a stop. They have amazing premade sausages (try the chicken, spinach, and feta) and their bacon is super yum too. The staff is very knowledgeable about their product and best ways to prepare it - just ask. They also have a deli with some premade foods. My favorite is the dill red skin potato salad as well as the southwest dip (amazing on tacos). They change out what they offer as well so check back. Some of the dried goods can be a bit overpriced, but it will do in a pinch. They have tons of alcohol to select from so it's sure to please most consumers.
