The place is cute, they decorated for Halloween. You can see them making dumplings when you walk in. The service was good, there was no wait. We ordered cucumber salad, Shanghai noodles, house beef roll, har gow & pork dumplings. Cucumber salad was just ok the flavor was of the crushed peppers was odd, not spicy tho. Preferred the flavor before I mixed it up. Shanghai noodles were great, very flavorful big noodles lots of chicken. House beef roll was also a delicious surprise. The wrap was so flaky the flavors inside were amazing. Hargow was also delicious, they do it well here. Chopped shrimps, dough isn't to delicate or soggy. Pork dumplings, I was disappointed not very flavorful, tasted like breakfast sausage with the fattiness no added spices that I could taste. All the flavor comes from the ginger soy sauce you get which is very much needed. The dough tasted like flour, some dumpling came popped and some were stuck to the paper and split open as we were getting them. When the soup come out it visibly chunky fat you see. Which was off putting. This place is ok, kinda torn on if I'd come back. I wanted to like it so bad.
Wow, I would never come to Fresno just to eat until now! This gem of a dumpling spot in a strip mall is pure gold! There are so many buns we didn't know where to starts so we ordered fried, steamed and a dessert to sample the menu. The service was fantastic, and the vibe was buzzing. We got the last table at 5pm to make a total full house. They open at 4:30pm so I would get here at 4:30pm or you may be waiting on a Sunday evening. The fried potstickers were amazing. Incredible texture, tender, ultra moist filling and flavorful. The steamed traditional soup dumplings were Devine. You could pick them up and dip them in the ginger dumpling sauce they provide yet the dumpling was full of delicious soup and filling. For dessert we had the Black and Gold Salted Egg Molton Bun. I have never seen this before anywhere. Have you and where? This is the most incredible dessert bun with a sugary creamy egg filling surrounded by a spongy bun colored with black sesame and a little chocolate. It was amazing! Do not miss ordering this as your final bun. 5 stars and on my Fresno must stop and eat if driving by list.
Ordered the Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and it was excellent! It had the perfect balance of noodles, vegetables, and tender beef, topped with half a hard-boiled egg. There wasn't too much broth, and the soup had great seasoning and was served at the perfect temperature. The Shu Mai was a little on the salty side, but not enough to ruin the dish. The restaurant itself is very well decorated, casual yet classy, clean, and well maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and they were very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, a great dining experience, and I'd definitely come back!
Location: Dumpling U Date: July 1st, 2026 Service: Take out Went this to this week to dumpling u. My family and I highly enjoy their dumplings they are delicious every time we go there inside it's usually packed We just prefer to go on the website and place the order via online this way is quicker and they give you a time for pickup. However make sure you look at their hours cuz the hours are they open hours from like 11:00 to 2:30 and then from 4:30 to close. We usually order the chicken pan frying dumplings and the pork pan fried dumplings.
Food is always 10/10. Love coming here. Our server was very attentive - Devin We got the garlic noodles and soup dumplings.
9/3/26 Round 2 and time for an update!! Conveniently ordering to set up starting on Yelp. I ordered their shrimp dumpling & chicken salad. Paid for it and it was ready right after I left my nail appointment. It's right next door. Arrived, greeted, let worker know & received with good day wishes! Great!! Lunchtime! Omg! LARGE chicken salad!1/2 is plenty! Another meal! It was Fresh, Tasty & DELICIOUS chicken cooked perfectly and GREAT crispy wontons & noodles to top it off!! Shrimp dumplings are Tasty & GREAT! Even better dipped in the sauce that comes with it! Leftovers there too!! Good service & GREAT lunch!! Highly recommended!!
The House Soup Dumplings with Classic Pork were fairly standard and ultimately underwhelming. The dumpling wrappers were too thick and doughy, and they tore apart too easily. The soup broth itself lacked the richness and umami depth that make great soup dumplings memorable. I was also disappointed that no fresh ginger was provided, nor did I see it offered. Traditionally, soup dumplings are enjoyed with fresh ginger and a vinegar-soy sauce mixture, often served on a soup spoon to catch the flavorful broth. That said, the House Special Beef Roll was the standout of the meal. Each roll features a crispy, flaky scallion pancake wrapped around tender five-spice braised beef shank, sweet hoisin sauce, and crisp, refreshing vegetables. The beef was slow-braised until exceptionally tender and infused with warm Chinese five-spice and soy sauce. The combination of savory, sweet, and salty flavors created a satisfying and flavorful bite. Many diners seem to enjoy the soup dumplings more than I did, so your experience may differ. However, I would recommend ordering an additional dish or appetizer if you choose them, as they are not particularly filling on their own. Be aware that the cost can add up quickly. An order of soup dumplings and the beef roll, including tip, came to about $42.
Excellent soup dumplings with plenty of flavorful broth and a delicate wrapper. The pan-fried dumplings were crispy and juicy, and the Shanghai noodles were delicious. The unicorn bao buns were a fun surprise for the kids. Friendly service, reasonable prices, and authentic flavors. Definitely one of the better dumpling spots in the area. We'll be back!
LOVED THIS PLACE! The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and funny! We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table and the staff offered us drinks, water, etc. while waiting. The restaurant has a trendy ambiance, I loved all the matching dish ware and cutlery. The food was so fresh, flavorful, and served quickly. Our favorite was definitely the spicy pork soup dumplings! We cannot wait to go back because there was so much more to try. Also, the parking is not great in the shopping center but it is what it is. Can't wait to come back!
Probably best beef pancake roll in Fresno!!! Very crispy and gives enough hoisin sauce. You can taste the hoisin flavor with each bite. The XLB is smaller compared to JingleBao. But they are both very solid. There were TVs inside the restaurant, that showed live sports which is a plus. I also got the chocolate dessert dumpling. That was disappointing. Filling was with dark chocolate, i would of preferred something sweeter Reminds me of Din Tai Fung but Fresno version. Price is fair for the food. Definitely worth checking out.
100/10, no notes. This was our second time here and everything was packed with flavor. Service is 1000/10. The servers are so friendly and funny, especially the main girl, not sure of her name. The food also comes out really quickly, which is awesome.
Small little restaurant with so much flavor! The food was a 10/10--absolutely delicious, with generous portions and very reasonable prices. Service was 9/10. The only reason it wasn't perfect was that we wished our waitress had checked on us a little more often for drink refills. It was a warm day, and we definitely could have used more cold water. Overall, a great experience, and we'd happily come back!
Let me start by saying it's freaking hot outside. If it isn't freaking hot outside for you, go ahead and skip to the next paragraph, because the following won't apply to you. We walk in and we are next in line. You use the tablet to put your name and phone number in and than you wait. They let us know that we are next, and that even though they have a small room available, their AC can't keep up with the weather outside, so they aren't using it. Just around the corner from the entrance is a large AC floor unit running. I don't know if the main unit on the roof is out, or it just can't keep up with the 105-ish degree weather outside. I don't know. Anyways while we wait, more and more people start showing up. They let us know that they are waiting for a large table for us, party of 5, to open, so they start seating smaller parties ahead of us. They estimate 20 min wait for us, but it was closer to 30. Meanwhile, the boys and I are sitting in the small room around the corner, while my wife and daughter sit near the door. Slowly I can feel the temperature in the small room creep up as more people come in. My wife tells me later that everytime the door opened, the heat just poured in on her. I start to wonder if the wait is going to be worth it. As it is, I'm already tired and hungry from a very long 3 day weekend. 15 min in, I go to the restroom to splash my face and wet a paper towel so I can wipe my face periodically. After 20 min, more people that have come in after us start getting seated too. Now I'm getting irritated. I say all this to you to say, if it's hot outside and you are determined to eat here, come at a time when it's not so busy. And keep your party to a max of 4. When we finally sat down, we were at a table designed for 8. Felt like a waste. Moving on. In the time we had to wait, plus the drive over, we have already started to narrow down what we want. I'm trusting in my wife at this point because she found the place and was able to research a few of the dishes. It's pretty cool that you get to see the workers preparing the dumplings as you walk in. We order 6 plates-seafood fried rice, Sichuan style wonton, house special beef roll (henceforth known at the burrito), tan tan noodles, deep fried dumplings and classic pork house soup dumplings. Honestly everything is good! The Sichuan wasn't that spicy to me, which I don't mind. The tan tan had a very distinct buffalo wing flavor. Probably the most filling plate was the "burrito." The deep fried dumplings were kind of basic honestly. Good starter for someone afraid to dip their toes in new foods. The classic pork house soup dumplings are something everyone should try if they want to jump in head first while still keeping it safe. My oldest continues to surprise me with his orders, this time the seafood fried rice. Even my picky youngest wanted to try an octopus tentacle. I do think we could have gotten away with ordering only 5 plates. With 6, we were stuffed and took home leftovers. I'm going to skip the AC situation in my rating. At least they tried to remedy the situation. Some things are unavoidable. I did take issue with the music, which I couldn't really hear at the table. While waiting though, I could hear that the music was uncensored. That means a heard every N* word and other curse words while I waited. Given the location, it was a curious choice in music. Overall, come in small groups of 4 or less, eat family style and try a little bit of everything

Walked in the place is cute as heck with their signs and people making dumplings right in front of you. I saw it being built and I was excited the wait was supposed to be 17-25 minutes however it took us about 45 to be seated. I wouldn't have waited had I known. I know it's new so hopefully that is something they will get better on. We tried 4 menu items 1. The fried chicken dumplings which I give a 5/10 they were good. The sauce saved them. 2. Pork soup dumplings 1/10 they were not only gross but I bit into hard stuff in my meat which is a HUGE turnoff. 3. Sausage fried rice 6/10 pretty good. The sausage was yummy. 4. The seared bottom pork bao 10/10 this was the only thing I actually liked. They were amazing. I might pop in and grab these to go from time to time. Everyone seemed stressed which is fair for a soft opening. Had it been around for awhile I would have only rated a 2 but for being new they get some points back for doing their best. I hope they get better all around by the next time I give them a try. read more

The service was top-notch along with the food and everything we had was so fresh and delicious. Kyrene was our waitress and perfect. Some said it was pricey. If you look at all the other restaurants it's all about the same price, but who cares when it's good and fresh like this place. Worth every dollar. Looking forward to our next visit. I'd say this place is decent for Fresno. The beef rolls were the highlight for me flavorful, well cooked, and the best thing we ordered. The dumplings were okay, but the wrapper was thicker than I prefer, which threw off the texture a bit. The spicy wontons weren't spicy at all -- it tasted more like chili oil drizzled on top rather than any real heat or depth of spice. Service was fine and the space was clean and casual, but comfortable enough. I'll be honest: I'm a big foodie and have eaten a lot in Southern California, so my expectations might be higher than average, which makes it hard to give a totally fair comparison. read more

Tried this place and everything is tasting great! I am so glad they have pan fried soup bun. I don't have to travel to bay area just to get my cravings. The Xiao Long Bao (dumplings) is cooked fresh. The meat is tender, flavorful, juicy and perfect size. My hubby ordered the braised pork belly with rice and he finished it all. The beef roll is rolled beef, cucumber and scallion pancake. Its flaky and full of flavor. Matcha crepe is also yummy like Lady M cake. We got the chrysanthemum tea, they use tea flower not those tea bags. Customer service is great. Eventhough they are busy, waiter/waitress do check up on us. We will definitely come back and try other food. I do hope they continue to thrive. read more

Good experience at Dumpling U. Food came out super quick. Soup dumplings were fresh but not a fan of the crab flavor. Tan tan noodles were good, just wished they were spicier. Scallion pancakes were great. The place itself has really good vibes though--very bright and full of light, which I really liked. Service was friendly, though my custard buns and chocolate dumplings weren't added to my to-go order and I didn't notice until after. Still, I'd come back and try more items. read more

Tried Dumpling U for the first time and really enjoyed the experience. The Wonton Soup was light but full of flavor, with tender wontons and a clean, comforting broth. The House Special Beef Roll was a standout--crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with savory beef. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup was hearty and satisfying, with rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and beef that was super tender and flavorful. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was clean, modern, and comfortable. Overall a great spot for a casual but high-quality meal. Will definitely be back to try more dishes! read more

We came here to try this place out on Wednesday. The food was good and tasty, service was fast. However the reason I am giving them a 1 star and if I could it will be a Zero is due to a bad burn I got from their food. My son ordered their Pan fried shrimp and pork Bun. When the waitress she didn't tell us they were pipping hot. I took a bite and right away their steamy-boiling liquid gushed out and burned my face badly. I had to put cold water on face and then ask for some ice as I could not stand the burning feeling on my face. The manager came and apologized but only took the item off the check and gave us a 20% percent off the check. I have been in pain and have bad burns on my lips, the skin between my upper lip and nose, the inside of my nose and some part for my cheek have been peeling off. I will go back and show them my face so they can see how badly their food burned and the discomfort and pain I have been in. read more

Really wanted to love this place but they got the quality and the flavors all wrong. Starting the with XLB pork and crab - very bad flavor, low quality pork - with way too much fat. I know soup dumplings have fat but the soup pouring out of these is water mixed with lowest quality ground pork and the flavor is very off putting. The green beans tasted like the propane from the wok they cooked them on and the scallion pancake was super dry - they don't have proper napkins so I was forced to use 20 cocktail napkins as a substitute and they did not pack my to go box or ask if I wanted sides of sauce to go with my leftovers. Do better, sorry. read more

Love how when you walk in you see them preparing dumplings. Seating was nice, there's always a wait. The restaurant itself is kind of smaller than most but looks good, I like their seating with the cushions on the bench. Alright as for the food, I was disappointed. I've never taken that much left overs home from a dumpling place. Prices and kinda high. We ordered the green beans, absolutely delicious get them. The TAN TAN noodles weren't bad but they also weren't mind blowing. Every sauce that was on our food literally tasted the same, an oily chili sauce with no spice whatsoever. I mean taste isn't bad it's just everything tasted the same literally, just different foods. Spicy wontons, a flop. Spicy and regular pork XLB was gross. The broth in it was weird didn't like it. Spicy is nonexistent. Shanghai wonton soup scary, little baby white shrimps floating all over and broth wasn't soothing it's was just a burst of flavor like a wonton soup you never had haha I didn't taste bad it was just different not my favorite. Pan fried pork dumplings, meatball inside looks suspicious. Like the skin on them how it was as thick but didn't really come out with a crispy bottom. Cucumber is great, super garlicky love that. Crepe cake, nothing fancy taste store bought, no razzle dazzle just layered cake with a light matcha whip filling. Maybe it's the stuff we ordered but this is what we would usually order at other dumpling places.... Kinda disappointing. Not worth the hype to me. Jingle bao was better. We packed 2 trays worth of soup dumplings home. This is one of the items that is eaten and devoured first, not this time. read more

Came to Dumpling U recently and was seriously impressed. Everything we tried was delicious and clearly made with care. The Jajang Noodle was rich and savory, perfectly balanced--not too salty, not too heavy. The Shanghai Wonton Soup was comforting and flavorful, with delicate wontons and a clean, satisfying broth. Our favorite was definitely the Crab & Pork Soup Dumplings--super juicy, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell they're made fresh, not frozen. On top of the food, the service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made us feel very welcome. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and comfortable, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to, and highly recommend if you're craving authentic dumplings and noodles! read more

Food was average. My husband ordered the braised beef noodle soup and asked for it spicy, but it came out regular unless their spicy version is supposed to be that mild. The broth and noodles were still pretty good, so I would recommend that dish. I ordered the cucumber salad and the braised pork belly over rice. The cucumber salad was refreshing but slightly lacking in flavor. The braised pork belly over rice was very mediocre--nothing special and overall on the bland side. The wait was horrendous. I would not recommend coming here without a reservation or signing up for the Yelp waitlist as soon as they open. We got on the wait list around 5:20 pm and didn't get seated until almost 6:50 pm. Our food didn't come out until around 7:20 pm. Granted, it's their soft opening, so the slowness is forgivable, but I did notice that some tables either had their food missed or skipped. There was also a table that arrived before us but still hadn't received their food even after we were served. Overall, it's a place worth trying when it's less crowded. Everything is on the pricier side as well. read more
