I really appreciated the extra care and attention. I highly recommend Dr. Goldhush and Virginia Old Town Dental!

Overnight, this developed into painful bruising on the roof of my mouth and the inside of my cheeks. For context, I moved to the area recently and came here based on good reviews on google. My previous dentist had found nothing wrong with my teeth/gums + I am regular with my dentist visits and have had x rays taken before. I guess I will have to keep looking for a better dentist's office in the area. Update: Note that you may be bullied by the office manager if you leave a bad review. Her response to the fact that bad quality care left me in pain, was that I was confused. So if you are expecting accountability after a botched up dental procedure, don't. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

When I arrived the receptionist was different than last year. After a short wait I was taken to the room for my exam. I didn't recognize the hygienist who was helping me either. I'm not sure the cause of the turn over but I hope it is for the better. The hygienist was having trouble inserting the digital bitewing thing into my mouth. I think she had it on backwards because the cord was on the side that goes into my mouth rather than the outside. Somebody must have see her because another hygienist came and substituted her out. This new hygienist inserted the digital bitewing quickly and with precision. After my x-rays were taken a Dr. Solemani came by and asked how I was doing. He apologized for the bad experience I had with my previous appointment. He offered to make it up with a free teeth whitening kit. I agreed and I was fitted with a mold. I was then told I would need to come pick it up in two weeks. I received a call later that day to schedule the pick up of the whitening kit. It was due to arrive on a Thursday and the office is closed on Friday. I told her that 9:00 works best for be because of my work schedule. She said that they are busy at that time but she would pencil me in. She explained they need to check the fit of the tray and it should be a quick appointment. It was very helpful that she was willing to work with my schedule. This place has really come around for the better in terms of dentistry skill, cleanliness, and professionalism. I had a pleasant experience but I will continue to visit my regular dentist.

And his staff is phenomenal! They are all so pleasant! You can see from the diversity of his staff that he is an equal opportunity employer (Caucasian, African American, Spanish, Asian...etc). The majority of the staff has been their for 10+ years. Dr. Argentieri and Dr. Bunin have an excellent bedside manner! When I moved and worked in Alexandria, VA for about 2 years, I went to another dentist that my coworker referred me to (for convenience). Well the quality was great but the Dr's and staff's bedside manner was poor and they sent me to collections for a measly $60 past due balance on my account! The wife was the account manager and she was so rude! I was a young and single low-income parent. I didn't want them to collect another penny from me so I fired them. I got a new job in Rosslyn, VA and decided to try a dentist in Rosslyn (for convenience again..) and their always seemed to be a new dentist every time I went and that didn't give me a warm fuzzy. My teeth still felt gritty after cleanings. Furthermore, I had a root canal there and I was still having pain after the procedure. I decided to go back to Dr. Argentieri and haven't looked back since. Due to not flossing my teeth over the years, I have acquired poor oral hygiene and it has cost me a lot of money, but Dr. Argentieri and his staff has worked with me because they care more about my teeth than money. Dr. Bunin is relatively young and new to the practice and has a little more to learn from experience (experience is the best teacher), but I trust Dr. Argentieri's judgment and believe that Dr. Bunin will one day become a great dentist working along side Dr. Argentieri. -Simone B.

On the one hand I always had a good experience with the hygienists and there have been few issues with insurance. I used to see Dr. Bunin who I thought was great but he left to go to another firm. Initially, I did find Dr. Argentieri to be somewhat abrasive, however, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I have always gotten along with him just fine. Both my husband and I have had extensive work done there and would get my teeth cleaned twice a year. They always took the time to take my blood pressure and it always felt like they cared about their patients. Until recently. I had an appointment for a regular cleaning but I had to cancel it because I had to work at the last minute. I am a real estate agent and I was called to show a house about an hour away the same morning of my appointment. I was not going to be able to get back in time for my appointment. It was an impossible situation because my client works at night so she was not going to be able to view the home in the evening and she couldn't schedule it for another day. I tried. Karen, whom I had never met before, was rude to me over the phone. She told me that since it was inside 24 hours (it was about 20 hours), I would be charged a missed appointment fee. In six years I was NEVER charged a missed appointment fee. NEVER. I'm sure it must have happened at least once due to the nature of my job, but I had never been charged for it. I was stunned. She would not talk to me, she just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. I live about 5 minutes away so I drove over there to speak to her directly. I could not believe I was being treated that way after being a patient for so long. She showed ZERO understanding about my job and could not answer why, after six years I was suddenly being charged this fee. I wasn't even aware that there WAS a missed appointment fee because I had never been charged one before. I tried to be reasonable with her. TBH, I just wanted her to tell me that they would not charge me this time, since there was no warning, but with the understanding that going forward, I would be charged, but no. She just kept repeating that it was policy and insisted that I would be charged for it. She had no regard for how long I'd been a customer nor how much $ we'd spent there over the years. It was really disgusting the way she treated me. THEN, to make matters worse, she told me that she was cancelling all my future cleaning appointments and that the only way they would see me again is if I came in as a walk in. (This woman does not know the meaning of negotiation nor goodwill.) This happened several months ago but I was prompted to write this review because my husband (we are separated) recently had work done there and the bills still come to the house. I noticed that the $110 charge is still on the bill, so it reminded me of what happened and that there has obviously been no resolution. I was very comfortable and happy going there for over six years, happy with Drs. A and C and the two hygienists that I have seen over the years. But Karen ruined everything for me.

Unfortunately, the experience with the Waldorf office staff was the opposite. From the beginning, the staff repeatedly told me that my insurance would not cover the exam and tried to push me to pay out of pocket. When I attempted to pay, their card machine was not working. I agreed to pay over the phone later since I did not have my physical card with me and usually use Apple Pay. I was also told that the procedure I needed would not be covered by my insurance. When I left, I was given what I thought was my receipt. Shortly after, the receptionist called and informed me that she had accidentally given me another patient's receipt that contained all of their personally identifiable information. We agreed she would come by my home to pick it up and provide me with the correct receipt since she lived close by. I was told the fee would be waived because of the inconvenience. However, that same fee was later processed and paid by my insurance company -- the same fee the office said would not be covered. Afterward, I called my insurance company about the other procedure and learned that it is actually covered at 50%. When I called the dental office back to ask them to submit it for pre-approval, the receptionist was adamant that she was not submitting anything to the insurance and insisted that I get confirmation in writing from my insurance first, as if submitting a claim would cost the office something. Dr. Smith himself was great, but the front office experience was frustrating, inaccurate regarding insurance coverage, and concerning given the mishandling of another patient's personal information.
