During my initial visit, I was referred to an endodontist for further evaluation based on one x-ray. I obtained older x-rays from my previous dentist and asked for further guidance on the referral. I am so fortunate to have found this dentist. They deserve ALL the Stars and I'm someone who has always been very anxious about dentists since I had a bike accident when I was young that knocked out my two front teeth and had to get root canals and crowns as a result. I've also had bad experiences in the past with dentists who try to overcharge you and recommend unnecessary procedures just to make money. That is not the case here. I trust Dr. Ghorab implicitly. He is kind and patient and calming with better bedside manner than any medical professional I've ever been to see. The prices are fair and reasonable, the office is extraordinarily clean with very modern equipment and techniques, and everyone there is friendly and helpful. These are among the best dental technicians I've ever had too. Recently I needed to get my own crowns replaced after 20+ years and this was the ideal place to have that done. Dr. Ghorab explained every step of the process, alleviated my fears and answered all of my questions with unparalleled empathy and understanding. I was nervous about how they would look since it's my front teeth, and I'm happy to say he did such a fantastic job. Even the temporary crowns looked pretty nice. THE BIG: Located in the heart of Shirlington and with free parking! THE BLACK AND WHITE: It's been a while since I got my last dentist appointment and boy did I need the work done. I had to get a few fillings in and a deep clean and my mouth/teeth have never felt better. The deep clean was broken up into two visits, one for the left and one for the right along with the new fillings as well. Dr. Ghorab and his team are professionals and work very well together. The area is clean and they follow all the standard covid protocols by taking your temperature and grabbing your contact information for contact tracing. This dentist and most of his office are excellent. They are exceptionally kind, caring, and considerate. I was very hesitant for going back to a dentist because of bad experiences I've had at dentist offices in the past. I had a dental emergency and luckily found this office. They were non-judgemental of how long it's been since my last visit. They are also accommodating in working out payment plans, as I do not have dental insurance. The only employee who is off-putting was one of the receptionists who may or may not work there anymore. If you've had the misfortune of dealing with her, do not let her affect your opinion of the entire business. If you're able to talk to the other staff, everyone else is wonderful, and the health of my gums improved considerably after visiting this dentist. read more

Update 2023: A year later and it remains true. Dr. Ghorab is by far the best dentist I have experienced in my 51 years of life. he is aware and attentive. He is calming and responsive. He walked me through each step, encouraged me to take deep breaths and utilize relaxation techniques...I am so glad I found him. His office staff is also very kind and helpful. 2022: I had the best dental experience with Dr. Ghorab today. Honestly, the best dental experience in years. I was anxious going in, due to not great experiences with other offices/providers in the past, but this was completely different. He explained, literally every detail to me including what I may be feeling, encouraging me to breath, even talked me through some imaginative relaxation (like imaging places I enjoy), he checked in with me frequently...it was so much better than ever before for me. He also took the time so show my my x-rays, show me the work he was going to do, and even give me extra time for the numbing agent to fully settle in. My teeth are important to me, my dental health in important to me, and I've avoided it in the past, but definitely have found a place I feel comfortable in keeping up with the routine. Worst dentist office I've ever visited. Communication is so poor I've had to go back and forth to this office so many times despite me asking many questions and making my expectations clear. I recently moved about 2 hours away but started my dental processes with this office and wanted to finish up. I made it clear I was moving again this summer and needed my ONE AND ONLY implant crown to be delivered early May. I was assured before I left the crown was being ordered. Just told now that is not the case and I'd have to return again at the end of May for crown delivery. This is not the first time this has happened - last crown delivery was delayed weeks and they only let me know 5 minutes before my appointment - imagine if it was the other way around how much I'd be charged as a patient who didn't give notice. I regret ever choosing this office to begin with and will be leaving negative reviews wherever I can. This office is a joke. read more

I will not be back to this dental office after a very strange encounter with an extraordinarily pushy hygienist that was unprofessional and made me incredibly uncomfortable. If I had not arranged childcare and was already in the chair I would have walked out right then. I also was stunned when he was done with the cleaning and said I was free to checkout and I asked when the dentist would be in and he said that I wasn't due to see the dentist just a cleaning....ummm what!? I've been going to the dentist for many years usually 3 times a year as this is what my insurance covers and NEVER EVER have I not seen a dentist after a cleaning! That's literally the point of going to a dentist routinely...to have teeth cleaned and see a DENTIST! They check for cavities and for oral cancers--- so weird and made me pause about this practice and if it's even legit. My husband and I will be finding another dentist ASAP. My first visit to RNX was pleasant. I was very nervous and apprehensive of judgment, as I had not been to the dentist in many years. After my initial consultation, having x-rays and a cleaning I was given a treatment plan. As I checked out and scheduled my next visit, I was told by the front desk receptionist Courtney that they would follow up to let me know if the tooth extractions I needed would be done in-house or referred out (I was also told this by Dr. Ghorab during my visit). On my next visit, I had two fillings done first by the dentist and then a deep clean on the right side of my mouth. No mention was made of the extractions and where they would be done. I asked as I was scheduling my next appointment and was told again by Courtney that she would check. The day before my next visit I did not receive the standard text confirmation but, it was also a federal holiday, so I thought that was the reason. The day of my appointment I went as scheduled and was told I had no appointment. Yes, looking back I should have called to confirm when I didn't receive the text, but I was confident that the date Courtney and I agreed on, the date I scheduled in my calendar was correct. Not only was my appointment not scheduled for that day but there wasn't another appointment in their system at all. Another young lady at the front desk was very polite and understanding and did her best to get me in. Courtney was accusatory, called me by the wrong name and seemed to have an attitude like I wasn't telling the truth. Dr. Ghorab saw me only to tell me he couldn't do my fillings that day because I needed a deep cleaning first. Remember, my last visit he did my fillings first, and then I had the cleaning. I would have understood if he just said he didn't have time since my appointment was never scheduled. I told him I had been experiencing pain on my left side and he totally dismissed me by only saying probably because I needed a tooth pulled. He finally explained that I needed to have my extractions done elsewhere but I was still given no referral. I was able to have my deep cleaning on the left side and the dental hygienist was great as always. As I checked out Dr. Ghorab and Courtney both seemed put out by the ordeal that was of no fault of my own and neither said goodbye. I thanked both Courtney and the other nice young lady again for squeezing me in, knowing I would never return. read more

Today I just completed my second visit with Dr. Ghorab, and once again, I am SO impressed! He is always so kind, easy to talk to, and answers every little question that I have. I really enjoy the conversations, which are always genuine and never forced lol that means a lot to someone to me. The nurses are always super so attentive and sweet as well. I could go on and on about how great they are personally, but my teeth have never been better. I've had some truly botched dental services in the past, and Dr. Ghorab managed to fix it ALL on two visits. TWO. Enough said. I'll be returning twice a year, every year.
