I cannot recommend this dentistry enough. There are too many out there that will push added work, but Fairlington Dental is not one of them. Dr. Rodgers and staff, e.g., April, Sally, etc. are knowledgable and will provide you with the best services/treatment that you can get. Note: They are out of network but they will bill your insurance to see if you can get reimbursed directly. Don't let this deter you because they have payment options available and they offer a set price for a cleaning/x-rays and it's reasonable. Don't let this deter you because good dental care is so very important and preventative care will save so much $$ down the road. In closing, the office is so comfortable and the staff will go out of their way to make it a stress-free experience. The technology is state of the art. I was wowed by their equipment. I even got a chance to play with the touch screen that displayed the results of my bite exam (for a night guard). It was really cool! They give you a goody bag at the end of your appointment and if you have a sweet tooth (hehe!) don't forget to take some cookies with you to enjoy when you get home. Another biannual cleaning, but this time Vivienne was my dental technician, and it involved a state of the art computer-aided scanner that rotates around your head, taking a full image of your teeth, jaw, and nasal area. It's amazing! Dr Rodgers explained the image & how the information is more comprehensive. And Vivienne was delightful, pleasant, and very gentle & thorough. I appreciate that Dr Rodgers & his staff keep up to date on the latest dental technology. Very impressive & cool staff & business. They make the whole experience a pleasure. Never had this happen with previous dentists. I'm tempted to make Dr. Rogers my go-to dentist... the only reason I haven't is because I've been seeing my current dentist for over 20 years and she is one of my neighbors. I was refered to Dr. Rogers by my dentist, Dr. Elizabeth Shaeffer, because I suffer from TMJ. Dr. Rogers is a specialist in this field and he certainly knows his stuff. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Everyone at this office is friendly and accommodating. Had Lavonne clean my teeth in October. Usually it hurts, NOT TODAY! Lavonne was patient, explained the process and how to take care of the flouride treatment she had a pplied. I got a bag of dental products. Lavonne was awesome. Then, yes, another bridge in Oct. I am very dentist phobic so had a tough time working up the nerve to get treatment. Dr Im and his new tech melissa are awesome. They' re patient and work to keep me calm throughout the procedures. They let me sit up and take a break when I get too anxious. Such a high tech place from dentist stuff to the TV I can watch when I keep my eyes open. Back to the story... Dr Im did all the stuff to fix my teeth for bridge, Melissa did the molds, xrays and other dentist stuff. Came back on 2 Nov, that bridge fit better than the original teeth did, just slipped right in! WOW! Dr Im looked at it, Melissa did x-rays, Dr Im glued it in and all was well with my world. We've been looking for a dentist in DC for 7 years. Each one we tried would either to sell us on services we didn't need/want, weren't very thorough, or were just plain odd. Fairlington Dental was recommended to us by a good friend, and we're very happy with the suggestion. The place is very nice and clean, and easy to get to off of 395. The front staff are all so happy and welcoming, offering drinks while you wait. There is also a paraffin wax station in the lobby. They are going for a "spa" environment to relax anxious patients. My hygienist was very thorough, explained everything each step of the way, and was very gentle. Dr. Rogers was nice as well. Best of all, he didn't try selling me anything! What a novel approach. I just came from Fairlington Dental and had a GREAT experience!! I'm not a fan of the dentist AT ALL. As in, when I broke my tooth this past weekend, I thought, "I'd rather live with the pain than go to the dentist". Well, I broke down and went to the dentist. I called on a Tuesday morning and had an appointment that afternoon. Susie, the receptionist, was wonderful. I got to the office, was offered some coffee, but didn't have time to drink it because I didn't have to wait! Melissa, a wonderful hygenist, started me off by taking x-rays. About halfway through, my anxiety got the better of me and I started crying. Instead of getting annoyed, she sat down with me, calmed me down, watched Ellen with me on TV (each room has its own TV!) and got me some water. She only proceeded when I was ready. Dr. Im came in and also made sure I felt as comfortable as I could. He was amazing! I opted for sedation for the root canal I needed, and let me tell you, DO IT! I slept through the whole appointment (I was asleep, but I still remember everything that happened, but I just didn't care that it was happening!) Afterwards, I was given a nice goodie bag (unexpected, but very nice!) and there has been very little pain. I'd HIGHLY recommend Fairlington Dental and Dr. Im to anyone who, like me, get's panicky just hearing the word "dentist". I'm actually looking forward to going back! read more
