I scheduled an appt with a specific doctor to keep things consistent for my children, and everytime I come in there's a DIFFERENT doctor they try to push on you... When you correct them, and tell them it's not the right doctor, YOU are then treated like YOU did something wrong... In addition to that, they can't seem to keep good records because they are ALWAYS asking for my insurance card when theres been no changes. On top of this, they are always sooo rude!! I recently took my two year old here for her first cleaning. She previously had a cleaning at another practice but this place was on my list to switch us too once we changed our dental insurance. I must say that I was very impressed and it met my expectations, and beyond. When we first walked in, the front desk reception sent us to two sinks in the back to wash our hands, as it is their practice for everyone to wash their hands upon entering and to also wears masks. We came around Christmas time and Santa was there taking free pictures with the children and the center was decorated festively. You can tell they really enjoy making the children happy and feel welcomed. There were children crying during their cleaning, but they have many strategies to attempt to calm them. For example, they painted my daughters nails during her cleaning to distract her. They also gave her a teddy bear to clean it's teeth. As well as even though she was not comfortable laying the normal way on the medical bed, and preferred to lay sideways, the dentist followed her and cleaned her teeth where ever she was calm and comfortable. The staff is also diverse culturally. There is a free parking lot out front with ample spaces. So far, I will be back and this will be our pediatric dentist. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Potomac Pediatric Dentistry. My daughters have been going there since their first dentist visit and we have always loved it there. They make it fun to go to the dentist. One of my 10 year old daughters had her first experience with a cavity fill yesterday and the patience and kindness the staff showed was amazing. The tech took the time to show her every tool and explain every step of the process. The dentist assured her through the whole procedure that she was doing amazing. For someone very afraid of needles she was able to complete the procedure with no laughing gas. We was recommended to Potomac Pediatrics Dentistry by New Smile Dental because my daughter was too little for their x-ray machine. However, this was the best recommendation we could have received. The staff is wonderful and professional. But words cannot express how awesome Dr. Le and Ms. J was with my six year old. Based on the examination they were able to determine multiple issues with not only her mouth, but her nose and ears. I never had a dentist that was so detailed. My daughter is 17 months and her pediatrician suggested she have her first dentist appointment by 18 months. So I checked Yelp for good reviews. I liked the reviews for Potomac Pediatric Dentistry and the pictures showed a bright and colorful places, good for kids, specifically toddlers who need things to keep their attention. They were the only place I found that had a picture of toddler toys in the waiting room. That was a big plus for me. We went on a Tuesday morning at 9:00. The ladies at the front desk were nice. We didn't wait long. The nurse was great, trained well to dealing with little people. We got a tour and my daughter brushed some stuffed animal teeth while she waited on the doctor. Now that took a bit long... at least it felt like it. My daughter couldn't sit still so I was a bit impatient. But technically, it was probably a 10 min wait. The doctor came and examined her teeth. She was squirmy and didn't like it one bit. But I distracted her with my phone. She got a balloon and a goodie bag. read more

I found this dental office for my children through my insurance provider, and I knew nothing about it before I got there. I was quite pleasantly surprised. I believe the office is brand-new (there was a "now open" sign out front), and everything inside was bright and clean. They have an underwater theme, with everything painted in shades of blue, with murals and ocean-themed art. The exam rooms are actually two wide-open rooms with three exam chairs each. I haven't ever seen that before, but I think it would probably make a nervous child more comfortable than being in a small closed room. I believe they had individual procedure rooms in the back as well for kids needing more extensive work. The hygienists were very friendly and great with my children. The dentist was great with the kids too and spoke to me in an intelligent, peer-to-peer manner, rather than in a condescending way, as is common with many medical professionals. The kids got balloons and a small prize from a gumball-machine-type toy dispenser, along with the standard toothpaste and toothbrush goody bag. I highly recommend this provider. read more

My daughter has major anxiety when it comes to anything to do with her teeth. She screams and cries and refuses to even open her mouth. This was the first time she actually laughed and left smiling (it took about 15 minutes, but Dr. Holmes and her dental hygienist, Diane, were able to get her to relax)! Dr. Holmes and Diane were amazing! I could not believe they were even able to get x-rays too! They were very funny and made my fearful seven year old relax and we didn't even have to try the laughing gas! We all left very happy! Dr. Le had to perform emergency oral surgery on my 5 yr old who is terrified of the dentist. Not only did he have a pleasant experience but she did a great job and was very quick. He has had them out for 24 hrs and has no pain and is very happy his teeth were removed. I would recommend her to anyone with a toddler. read more

My kids are patients here. 10 years, 3 kids later it is still just as wonderful as it always was. The staff are all super friendly, very helpful, and always greet you with a warm smile. The hygienist are also super friendly, they are patient which is needed when dealing with young kinds, and they are fun with a touch of silly. Then you have the doctors who are all very informative and really take the time to explain things in detail while giving great advice. They are patient as well and make sure your child understands the importance of dental hygiene. Dr. Holmes is quite funny as well which we certainly appreciate. After your child is finished with their cleaning appointment they will get a few goodies. My kids always leave this office with a smile on their face and that's a big deal if you really think about it. Not many people can say they leave a dentist office with a smile. APPRECIATION POST Dental visits for our child are always filled with anxiety, tears, and his body trembling with fear. One typical visit usually has to be broken down into multiple desensitization visits for him. Potomac Pediatric Dentistry has supported our child's dental health by building trust with the staff and the tools they use. That being said I am so appreciative of Ms. J who stayed calm and patient with our child today. It was a long process to polish those teeth, but she supported our child with breaks and constant encouragement. Ms. J is an asset to the hygienist team and we are thankful for her ability to provide such exceptional care. The other hygienists we've seen have also gone above and beyond to help our kiddo feel at ease. Also Dr. Le and Dr. Holmes have been doing an amazing job with helping establish a care plan that suits a child on the spectrum. Both of these dentists are professional and easy to engage. Best Dentist in Virginia!!! We had a terrible accident and my sons front teeth were broken. Dr Lee is incredible. She even gave us her personal cell number as we were dealing with his recovery. My kids love to come to the office and everyone that works here actually looks happy to be there. They greet you with smiles up at reception and the technicians are so sweet with our kids.
