Privileged and exclusive but idyllic in nature, you will feel it all when you enter this restaurant. Beautiful views of Manhattan with an air of chicness to it. The food is very good and you often find celebrities here. In fact I was seated next to the rapper and media celebrity Common on my one date with a friend! I ordered the impossible burger with sweet potato fries that came with a well toasted brioche bun and savory toppings, including honey mustard. The burger was average, but the experience of sitting in velvet chairs with glasses of classy cocktails being poured in the middle of the day felt like a real treat. Hell I might even apply for my own membership! The service at the bar was spectacular. The table seating not so much. Our waitress disappeared for 30 minutes and our glasses were not refreshed. I asked a bus boy to find someone to help us order drinks. He did not. I had to flag down another server but he did not understand our issue but did help close out the tab. While seated we ordered the tuna tartare and truffle fries which were exceptional. If they can work on the service it will be top tier. Dumbo House is really beautiful with a spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge and skyline. My friend is a member and brought me as her guest and I am so happy she did. The place is decorated well with plush seating options and tables of various types. The servers/bartenders were very nice and pleasant. It really is an absolutely beautiful space and I was magnetized by the ambiance. The lights were low, terrible for pictures. They had an adjacent movie room that was empty for this particular night. Live music that was great but hard to hear due to faulty speaker issues. The drinks were decent nothing noteworthy in my opinion. Cappuccino was authentic. My Aprizza Thyme drink was less pomegranate and more grapefruit then expected. I was with a group who's drinks ranged from good to 'different' The food is where we lost a star. The truffle fries were matchstick thin, not hot nor cold, and very overly salted. Damn near inedible. The fish and chips were straight up terrible. The fish was thickly coated and unseasoned. Now I'm not one to join clubs like this but the ambiance is too amazing to pass up. The people are what you would expect in Brooklyn, nice mixture of all walks of a kool boro. The views here at Dumbo House are definitely one of the highlights of visiting. I mean how could you not feel on top of the world when seeing the Brooklyn/ Manhattan Bridge and a stunning view of Manhattan. I'm sure this place is even more lively during the summer time too. I came in for lunch as a guest of a member and as soon as the elevators opened to this exclusive social house I was shocked by how many people were here. Granted it was a Friday afternoon, but sheesh .. there was barely any open seating in the main area and the dining area was packed. The room was filled with diverse and driven creatives all busy socializing and getting work done (love to see it)! So for the food, we ordered their 3 course lunch which was a great price in my opinion. I ordered a salmon arugula salad, their BLTA with white bean soup and their mango sorbet. Everything was pretty mid, nothing special at all but it was very filling. Our server was great at the beginning but after our appetizers were served everything was out of whack. I'm not sure if it was because the servers were rotating between tables but the food didn't come out at the same time. So one person was patiently waiting for everyone else's food to come out while there food was getting cold. This is a critical safety update. Upon the invitation of a colleague to have a meeting at Dumbo House that would use the pool facilities, I recently visited. The recklessness of this place is worth calling out. The shower room door does not lock!!! Someone walked in while I was showering. While it did not happen, this increases the probability of a potential sexual assault. It is of course a violation of privacy. Imagine selling a club that doesn't even have a working lock on the shower room door. I will be cancelling my membership tomorrow. This place sucks. Came on a a busy day, however I was told I was next up for a daybed (I was waiting over 2 hours). Checked again, lady said I was NEXT up. So what do I do? Nice guy I give away my single chair. Go back up, that lady left and the new lady told me I was 30th. How the hell did that happen? Why did I give my seat away? Sure I was going up every 10 minutes, but it's because I was told I was next. She def gave a little sas. Then I go downstairs, wait 20 minutes for a drink and tell the bartender I wanted to bring it upstairs. He said he couldn't serve me, even though he had plastic cups behind him (not his fault, but so dumb). So, my guests arrive, we say hey, screw it, even though it's a perfect outdoor sunny day let's eat downstairs. We go downstairs and wait for a table to eat, we sit and enjoy drinks while doing so. We finally get seated for food and it took them 40 MINUTES to come over and ask us what we want. I type this as I am still sitting here nearly an hour in with no water to drink. This place has gone so downhill ever since they changed to reservations (which bots snipe the moment them come available in 48 hours). Going to sign up for another club to use the pool because this is awful. Best part - you ask how long you need to wait and they don't give a Straight answer. Even tell me 7 hours I don't care just tell me something! They understaff too - feel bad for the workers. Also none of their payment processing machines work and they all just chat and don't actually work. In summary, this was the worst experience I have ever had at an establishment in my 28 years of being alive. Being respectful and honest gets you nowhere here, if you are looking for dogshit service, vague answers, snobby/lazy workers, and ridiculously inefficient structure, you came to the right place! I will be shorting this stock with every residual cent I can find within my couch cushions and will be licking my lips and prancing as I watch the price and this establishment fall to the depths of hell. The views and decor are the only thing this place has going for it. The service is absolutely atrocious. How are you supposed to be upscale and exclusive with that bad of service. It took forever to get greeted and forever to have our check brought to us. I asked if they could split the bill the waitress didn't even pretend like she would try. She just said no and brought it out all combined. The funniest part about all this is you would think they were overwhelmed with tables and helping others but the majority of the time the staff just stands around. The food isn't even all that good for the price. What I ordered I liked, but they overcooked the salmon that one of the members at my table ordered. She also wanted a moscato (a sweet wine) and the waitress recommended her a very dry wine. Not what she had in mind at all. Also the fact they will only let you have a max of four people in your group just does not make any logically sense. They made us wait 30 minutes after our reservation to be seated at a table that was no different than any other tables setup and made a big deal like they wouldn't no where to put us. The views are pretty spectacular. I stuck to a classic burger which came with fries. It was a solid burger, and the fries were great. The space was very crowded and boisterous which kind of changed how relaxed I felt. Servers were nice and polite. I personally couldn't see the value of being a member because of how crowded it was, and I prefer more of a peaceful environment. But maybe Thursday was a busy day. No real complaints. Dumbo house is an exclusive membership only club part of soho house with about annual $5k fee. The entrance is located inside the time-out market with separate elevator to get up. They have very strange rules tho, they don't allow people to take pictures even just the view, no drinking in the pool even they are all plastic, no laptop or phone call either they said it ruins the vibe. The food and drinks are decent, buffet has a good selection and taste good. Our waitress was great very friendly and attentive. They have a great view of the Brooklyn bridge from the restaurant and pool so that's really amazing read more

I have never written a yelp review before, but this experience was so bad that I downloaded the app to do so. Do not spend your money here. You see the photos and it looks amazing but the service is the worst service I've had in my life. Employees are rude, lost our place in the (3 hour) line for a rooftop spot, then we went downstairs to get food, got seated after a wait, and they didn't come up to the table with even water for over 50 minutes. Located above the Empire Stores, the entrance is accessed through a discreet bronze door leading to the lobby. You have to take the elevator upstairs to access the club. The view here is absolutely gorgeous. Great place to chill, hangout, and do what you gotta do. The food and drinks were decent and the buffet was worth every penny. It's true that each location of this members-only club has its own identity, and of its New York locations, Dumbo House is my favorite. Being in this part of DUMBO guarantees breathtaking views of the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge and city skyline, which you can take in from their large outdoor patio. Just don't try to snap a photo, for you may be subject to their strict, but spottily enforced no photo policy-- evidenced by this photo I nabbed before I knew about this rule. It's particularly funny in this neighborhood, where you can't walk two feet without bumping into an influencer taking the same hackneyed photo on the same cobblestone street you've likely seen if you've spent any time on the internet. I think a haven devoid of hoards of people with their phones perpetually out is one that I welcome, and the various Soho Houses provide that, among many other perks. Earlier this year I joined some friends for dinner in their open dining room, which faces the dance floor. Well dressed people shuffled in for DJ Talib Kweli, who we also came to see perform. We shared a few wood-fired pizzas, calamari, burrata, and wood fired eggplant dip. The prices were significantly higher than what similar fare would cost at even a nice NYC restaurant but I think that just comes with the territory. Everything was pretty tasty and fresh, and service was attentive and helpful. As the music played and the whole place filled up, it felt like any other club. It was still difficult to flag down the bartender to pay for a $20 cocktail, and it was difficult to find space on the dance floor where I wouldn't be jostled from side to side, but all of this also comes with the territory. Hard to imagine what dance floors will look like in the coming year, and if they can happen at all. Still, I'm taking some comfort in reveling in the nostalgia of being entrenched in a sweaty throng of people, with nothing to worry about other than when they can get their next drink. read more

Yes, the views are amazing, but so are the views from the promenade and food court on the ground floor. Yesterday I went to Dumbo House for the first time. I have been to two other SoHo Houses: the New York location and Miami. I have to say that the service at Dumbo was the worst service I've ever experienced at any restaurant/lounge/bar in the US. The staff seems to have zero hospitality experience, zero training and it feels like the GM is hiring people off the street or possibly just friends of theirs. The people there were so incompetent that I actually wondered if they were high. Here are some examples: - No waitstaff came by to ask if we wanted to order - we had to flag them down to order SEVERAL TIMES - It takes at least 45 minutes to get drinks when you do order - They screwed up EVERY SINGLE ROUND of food and drinks that we ordered - We asked them to split into two checks for two groups of people who were there at different times. They messed that up TWICE and had to re-run even though it was written on the receipt. Not sure how you can screw that up - Twice they brought food and drinks that we didn't order and then charged us for it A message for the management of SH: - It was clear that the staff doesn't work in sections. The servers claims it's because the customers "move around" but that makes no sense. Waitstaff should have designated sections that they work in and are responsible for. One of our waitresses left for the day and never told us and no one took over for her. - Are tips pooled? That also may be why employees just don't care. If the tips are pooled then they just don't care about service because they aren't directly rewarded for their efforts. They don't care if you get good service or not. - Train your people. The employees are clearly not trained. If they are unclear on something, they aren't asking for clarity on the order. Examples: one person ordered berries and then two orders of berries came out. When my friend said, "I only ordered berries" the waitperson said, "Well, there are two of you." My friend said, "Yes, but only I am hungry." Also, I ordered crudite on the side of the eggplant and avocado dips and when it came there were two orders but I only asked for one. They charged me for it and I had no idea that they were putting in two orders - WHY? Again, it's just a lack of training, curiosity and understanding of the role. - Check to see how many voids are happening for drinks and food and also cross reference the members list/their guests with how many people are actually patrons that day. Something fishy is going on with membership - I am guessing that the GM is just allowing all kinds of friends/nonmembers to go there. If that is what the goal is, why not get rid of the entire paid membership program then? My guess is that if there is any response from SH on this it will be some vague response that they are "working on it" or something that also shows that this is not being taken seriously. I would like to hear from the GM as to why this location is such a disaster. If I am paying $500 for appetizers and drinks, I would expect much better service. The price is not worth the value here. read more

Dumbo House definitely beats Soho in terms of view, spaciousness and ambiance, though it's a bit harder to get to from Manhattan. Service was also kind of bad - at one point we all needed more silverware and that proved to be a challenge for some reason. Otherwise, food is good: margherita pizza, French fries and grilled romaine were all tasty. Lettuce wraps and poke were both a little too spicy for me. I just left a jewelry fundraiser where I met amazing people. The event ended and it was time to find a place with good vibes, drinks, and food. So where did we head to? You guessed right- Dumbo House! I hope you guessed right, after all that's why I'm writing this review. It felt like a Sex in the City night. All of my girls were dressed to imoress and looked sexy! We walked in and saw a line! Yea. I don't do lines and neither do the girls. So, we walked straight to the back of the line. Lol. My friend went to the front and security asked why were we in line? So, we walked to the front, checked in, and rode the elevator up. When we walked off the elevator, the room was packed and we had to search for a table. Unfortunately, your only allowed to be served or eat at certain tables, so we relocated. It was tough getting service but eventually she decided to greet us. We ordered wine, gin and tonic and a dark and stormy. My gin and tonic was good and I was told the dark and stormy was as well. For an entree, I had the dirty vegan burger. It was served with cheddar (not vegan) along with lettuce, tomato and a pickle alongside fries. The burger and fries were just ok, not great. The flavors did not match the price. However, at this establishment, your paying for the exclusivity. People were listening to music and playing card games while enjoying drinks and conversation. There wasn't much dancing but more of a bop and sway vibe. The view is absolutely beautiful of the east river. Honestly, for the price point my experience was just ok.
