After a long day at the beach and having no breakfast, the group was starving for as Beldar the conehead would call them "consumables". It had been a while since we straped on the feedbag at a buffet. We drove to the restaurant which was 20 minutes away. The parking lot is set up for small vehicles so park far if you have a SUV. The restrooms are very clean and esthetically nice looking. You pay as you enter the restaurant and seat yourself. Price varies on the time you show up, lunch vs dinner price. The table set up can be challenging for large groups. Your server brings you the drinks to your table. There is a traditional salad area, side dish area, main course and desert bar. Finally tried Duff's and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent as they constantly kept our drink glasses full and the empty plates cleared. The food is plentiful with a large selection of everything you could want: salads, vegetables, meats and desserts. I will say the food is good here, but not the best of anything. For example, the ribs were good, probably boiled and smothered in BBQ sauce. They definitely were not smoked, so lacked that type of flavor of what I would call real BBQ. The meat fell off the bone and was tender, so I am sure many might feel they were the "best ever." Another point about the food is it is meant to appeal to a large cross section of tastes at a buffet and therefore, could be described as a little bland. Not a huge knock, but just a personal preference on the flavor. I will go back and as I said the food was good. I'm not a big fan of buffets to begin with due to the fact that after I visit one I leave with an upset stomach. Though I did not get an upset stomach after visiting Duff's buffet, I was not thrilled after tasting the food they had to offer. My plate mainly consisted of fried chicken and desserts since that is definitely the highlight of this place. If I could, I would give the customer service 5 stars since our waiter definitely went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. I dine out for lunch every day and go to Duff's 5 days a week. It has the best variety of food available: soup bar, salad bar, all American hot bar, dessert bar and for me as a diabetic, they have sugar free pie. The food is constantly fresh and changed out often. The restaurant is clean. Each day there is a different food variety available. Wednesday is Italian day with chicken parm, eggplant parm, and goulash along with all the other great options. I love the staff. They are friendly, efficient, and many call me by my name. They know what I drink and have a table ready for me with my drink, eating utensils, and a straw. They take time to chat with me when they have time which is important to me being a widowed senior. Seniors love to talk and share things with young people. Give it a try, you will not be sorry and know you will go back. read more

My favorite country style buffet. Truly southern cooking. Great variety of salads, veggies and meats, good variety of desserts. Two soups are also on buffet. Fried chicken and fried fish are my favorites but the bbq ribs are a close second. Turnip greens, field peas, stewed tomatoes & okra are my regulars, but actually haven't found a veggie I didn't like. Broccoli raisin salad is a must and the cobblers with vanilla ice cream are incredible. Their sweet tea is fresh no matter what time we go. Best sweet tea ever! They offer discounts for seniors as well. A half hour drive but well worth it. read more

We were surprised when this Duffs opened close to us. Thirty years ago the Duffs in Charlotte NC was one of our favorites. With four kids under 15 a buffet was great to allow each child enough choices to please them. The food was ok, not great and mostly fairly bland, but good. When a friend mentioned that this location opened it brought back many fond memories. But I was surprised that both the husband and wife said how good the food was. So decided to meet them on a Thursday at 3:00 PM. A little strange but oh well. I prepared by having no WW point breakfast and lunch, so I could sample around. At $12, a bit more than normal lunch but well worth it. I started with sliced to order turkey breast with stuffing & gravy. Turkey was tender, juicy and excellent. As was stuffing - spiced and delicious. Along with this some stewed cabbage, absolutely wonderful and flavorful. Finally a couple slices of fried green tomatoes. WOW! Some of the best ever! And all these were smaller portions so I could sample more. Next came a small piece of Salisbury steak, a bbq rib, chicken livers, some collards, broccoli casserole and (Oh My!) a couple more slices of fried green tomatoes! Steak was perfect. Collards were delicious. Chicken livers with peppers & onions were great. Broccoli was great. Rib was ok but paled against everything else. Same comments from my friends on the fried fish, fried chicken, okra, etc. There was also a Taco bar and a salad bar that looked great but we didn't visit. LOL! Everything, yes everything we tried was great. Plus I had a couple bites of pecan pie and chocolate pie. Mmmmmm. Now as far as why the 3:00 PM meet? Well my friends have visited it often and found that most times they are very busy - read lines out the door. Friday - busy; Saturday or Sunday - good luck; Wednesday afternoon/evening - busy. The restaurant seemed clean, I ate here today by myself at 2pm. Some of the food was kind of bland. I did enjoy the salad bar. The lady working the cashier stand gave me a really bad experience. While I was eating my meal she came over to a gentleman sitting nearby me and started telling him he shouldn't come to eat here on Sundays if he is by himself because it's too busy. She then came over to me and proceeded to tell me the same thing. I've never been treated like this by someone in a restaurant before. I'm just sad about. That my son was killed not his fault he was my first born I had him at 18 and he went to countryside high so I'm just sad the BUSSING LADY WHO WAS I BELIEVE Filipino? I wanted this place to be good, but was disappointed. My son and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon not knowing what to expect after reading so many good reviews. We walked in, paid and grabbed a table. As we walked to the buffet I noticed immediately that the selection was limited at best. Stuffed peppers, fried chicken, turkey on the carving table I think. Saw some chicken nuggets that looked like they'd been there along time. I grabbed a some sort of grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes and some mac n cheese. My son took a bbq pork slider and fries which he said was pretty good. My grilled chicken was small and dry. Mashed potatoes tasted like they were straight from the box and Stoffers had to be the Mac N Cheese. Overall I was not impressed, seemed everything was out of a can or a box and warmed up. Duff's is great! The decor is very nice and contemporary, the serving staff nice and attentive. They are sure to always clear your empties and keep your drink refilled. This restaurant is clean and has a lot of seating available. Most importantly, the food here is excellent! They have many delicious staples here, fresh and full salad bar, four soups, and also a great variety of vegetables, entrees, meats -turkey, chicken, beef, ham and fish, also southern favorites like collard greens, fried chicken, cheesy scalloped potatoes with ham. There is a little bit of food rotation I can't find advertised anywhere - but based on my visits they have taco Thursday, seafood on Friday, and Bbq ribs and other favorites on Saturday. Desserts are also delicious and numerous in choices! Pies, cakes, banana pudding, cheesecake, chocolate cream pie...many more to list. Also, an ice cream machine that swirls chocolate and vanilla, the creamiest ice cream I've ever had! Coffee is free also, so don't forget to ask when you are settling in for dessert. The price is right for all this deliciousness, $10.58 for adults with the exception of Friday night, Saturday nights and Sunday all day, then it goes up a dollar or so.
