Bascom's Chop House Definitely one of my favorite steak places to dine in. Bascom's never disappoints with its beautiful ambiance, excellent food, and outstanding service. The medium-rare steak was cooked just right--tender, juicy, flavorful, with a beautiful sear on the outside and perfectly pink in the center. It's a great place whether you're celebrating a special occasion, having a business dinner, or simply enjoying a nice evening out. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting, and the service always makes the experience feel special. It's also one of our favorite restaurants for hosting our nursing association educational dinner meetings. I'm always happy to recommend! REALTOR® * LPT REALTY, LLC Serving Tampa Bay and beyond. Bascom's Chop House - The medium-rare steak was cooked just right--tender, juicy and flavorful,. - Steakhouses Near Me - Clearwater, Florida

We ate here before flying home after spending a week at Indian Rocks Beach. Our experience started when we walked through the door. We were greeted with a smile and some casual small talk before being kindly escorted to our table. The ambiance was warm and friendly. Our waiter Jericho did a phenomenal job and we wanted for nothing. He was knowledgeable of the menu, very personable, professional, and very attentive to our every need. We both enjoyed a Caesar salad. The salad was fresh, crisp, and served on a chilled plate with just the right amount of dressing. I had the bone-in Ribeye and my wife had the Chilean sea bass and we shared the creamed spinach with our entrees. My ribeye was seasoned and cooked (medium rare) to perfection. It was very tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It's the best steak I've had dining out in a very long time. The Chilean sea bass was superb and cooked to perfection. We finished up our dinner with crème brûlée and coffee that was a great ending to our meal. I rarely get WOWED when dining out but this place is the real deal and WOWED me. This was the best dining experience from start to finish we have had in a very long time. Does quality come with a cost? Yes! I have wasted more money for less than service and mediocre food at other establishments. This place is a must and I highly recommend dining here if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. read more

Amazing meal here for Father's Day. The filet was cooked to perfection. The hot honey carrots were great. And the garlic mashed potatoes were fantastic. The service was great. Truly had a fantastic evening with my family at this restaurant. My in-laws have been there before and it suggested that we all go together. Great vibe and ambience inside we sat upstairs, which had live music. Let me start by saying our server, which was a young gentleman was outstanding definitely knew how to provide great service be entertaining, be energetic, and made our evening that much better. The food was excellent Three of us started with a Caesar salad and I had their lump crab martini. The salads were excellent and my lump crab meat was absolutely delicious and so fresh and they pack a good amount inside the martini glass when it's served For dinner, I had the prime rib. My wife had the pistachio, crusted grouper, and my in-laws had the cedar plank, salmon, and shrimp risotto. Every dish was spot on delicious and they give an excellent portion. The pricing for the amount and quality the food was spot on. Not overpriced and I don't mind paying a little extra for a really good meal. Definitely planning a return visit and if you haven't been, you should really try this restaurant. read more

My first visit to Bascom's Chop House was with a group of 4 friends for dinner on a Tuesday around 7pm. Making a reservation online a few days ahead was quick and easy. Upon arriving, the parking lot was completely packed, with some guests even parking along the side streets. Thankfully, valet parking was complimentary, which made things much easier. Even with how busy it was, we only waited about 5 minutes before being seated. Once inside, I realized the restaurant is much larger than it initially appears from the outside. One detail that really stood out was the attentiveness of the host staff. Two of my friends were dressed in darker outfits, and the host kindly swapped their white napkins for black ones to better match their clothing. That level of attention to detail was genuinely impressive. Since it was Tuesday, they were running a special on the 38oz tomahawk bone in ribeye, normally $138 but discounted to $108, so naturally that became the centerpiece of the table. We also ordered the wagyu carpaccio, thick cut bacon strips, calamari, and bread service to start. The bread was definitely worthwhile with a nice whipped butter and seasoned olive oil. The bacon was thick with a heavy peppercorn crust and a sweet honey spice flavor that balanced it nicely. The calamari was lightly breaded with smaller pieces, but still enjoyable. Their wine list is presented on a tablet and is absolutely massive. While the selection is impressive, navigating through it can feel a bit clunky and time consuming, especially when trying to narrow something down within a certain price range. Ultimately, the tomahawk steak was the main event. We ordered it medium rare, and to their credit, it was cooked correctly. Unfortunately, it came out a bit lackluster and only lukewarm. We found ourselves adding salt and pepper for extra flavor, and with the air conditioning blasting throughout the dining room, the steak became cold surprisingly fast. There were also several chewy tendon like sections throughout the steak, which took away from the experience even more. While the portion size was solid and the cook temperature was right, it was disappointing that such an expensive steak did not arrive hotter and more refined overall. Overall, I would still consider giving Bascom's another shot because the service and atmosphere were very good. However, if the steak experience falls short again, I will probably stick with places like Bern's or Charley's when I am craving a proper steakhouse dinner. read more

Service was excellent. J. Jerichow was knowledgeable and helpful with menu suggestions. Entrees and appetizers were tasty, particularly the fried lobster. A little disappointed with the sides. Cream corn is not a typical cream corn. Not creamy at all. It was spicy and bland. The asparagus also lacked flavor. Overall a great meal for a more upscale dining experience. read more

Service was the best I've ever seen very attentive but not a bother. The ambiance was beautiful and intimate. The food was scrumptious and melts in your mouth. Came here for a work dinner and loved it. Wish I lived here so that I can have that mouth watering, melt in your mouth steak all the time. I'll be dreaming about it later for sure. read more

When you look for a nice steakhouse in Tampa, sadly Bascom's doesn't come up! It has great ambiance, fantastic servers, and food that keeps bringing you back! Business dinner here on a Saturday evening. My wife and I were excited because of all the great reviews and ads we have seen. It was very busy, as expected for Date Night. We were directed to the elevator and 2nd floor, where a private room was set up for our group. We were told we could order drinks from a waitress, so caught one in passing and ordered a couple soft drinks. It was very beautifully decorated and much larger than we had expected. I walked around a took some pictures. We were seated and business owner gave a short speech about the state of the economy and state of the business. This was very interesting and uplifting for all the attendees. Then dinner began. We were brought a small tray of veggies, fruits and cheeses. Then came salads, which were delicious. Our waitress brought a warm small bread loaf and sat it near us, so four of us by it, each took a piece. Then we realized she only brough one load for a table of eight, so were a bit shocked. Later we caught our waitress, who covered several tables, passed by and i caught her attention. I asked for more bread and she said she would try to bring some. Strike 1! She did bring several loaves about 15 minutes later. Salads were cleared and main courses brought. My wife chose the Filet Mignon and I opted for the Prime Rib, a special that night. Both came with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Onion Straws, and Vegetable Medley. Our courses arrived and they looked wonderful. My wife loved her Filet and said it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. However, when I tried to cut into my Prime Rib, I couldn't do so! The sides were so tough I couldn't cut through them with the steak knife, So I decided to cut around the tough outside to the pink interior. I was horrified! Even the interior was tough. I managed to cut off pieces and chewed them awhile because I didn't want to spit them out. It was the worst Prime Rib I've ever (tried to) eat. I've had better Prime Rib on cruises - in the regular dining room. Please see pics of before and after on the dish. Strike 2! Then dishes were cleared and desserts were served. Both of us ordered the Chocolate Torte. It was very good, but so sweet, I needed coffee to help wash it down. I had seen servers bringing coffee to other tables, so I caught our waitress and asked for coffee. She replied, and I quote "I'll see if we still have any." What? A very popular restaurant and they run out of coffee?? Needless to say, we were never brought coffee. Strike 3! It was a pleasurable experience overall, to sit and chat with other attendees. The salads and sides were excellent. The ambiance was great. Service was certainly lacking, and food was very disappointing. read more

This was our meet and greet spot for dinner and what a dinner it was. Started with the billionaire bacon which tasted like a billion bucks. It was really good. The lobster Mac was decent, no complaints. Let's get to the steak... great New York cut, seasoned well with plenty of add-ons if that's your thing. I kept it simple and opted for a little extra salt n pepper. Great place, bring your wallet! I'm will return read more

Update to my review. Because I always devour the food before I have a chance to take a picture of it. But tonight, tonight will be different. Because I'm starting this review at the beginning of the meal so I will be sure to document it as it progresses for your enjoyment dear reader. Well, some time has passed, and that lofty goal has already been abandoned. Because I devoured the bread service before I had a chance to take a picture of it. I've got to do better. The bread service is absolutely worth it. I do not know what is going on with that dipping sauce, but it is spicy and exquisite. I also did not take a picture of my Mojito but should have. It is a classic Mojito prepared exactly as I remember it from those long ago days in Puerto Rico, where I first sampled this sumptuous libation. Time has passed. Oh my God! The size of the steak! We came for tomahawk Tuesday tonight. That's when you can get an entire tomahawk steak for $109 instead of $139, which makes it about 30% more delicious. Anyway, in order to take a picture of this tomahawk steak I had to zoom out on my iPhone! Because they're just so big I could not fit it in the frame! I ordered mine medium rare and sliced for two, so my lady can share in the enjoyment. Perfection. No notes. The truffle fries are the best I've had anywhere. And they are abundant. A must have. I have to say, this has been one of the best meals of my life to rival Gibsons in Chicago. But what this location lacks in views it makes up for in every other way. Especially the service, which is top-notch. Oh, and did I mention they have complementary valet? This is starting to sound like I was paid to write this review. I was not. But I will gladly accept free Mojitos in the future. Should the right person happened to read this. For we will be back, and often. read more

Wow! Bascom's is now our personal favorite steakhouse in Clearwater. We went to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and this place hit every mark with flying colors. Let's start off with getting reservations, it was beyond easy to do through their online reservation system. Parking was beyond easy too no charge and we were able to get a front row spot on a Friday night! Now moving on to the food, we started off with the Wagyu Carpaccio which was amazing. I'm not one to try anything raw but I highly recommend getting it! It was paired with garlic butter and arugula salad. My only wish was that there were 6 slices of the bread crisps instead of 4 because the pieces were so small we ended up eating the meat by itself. Still it was delicious! Next we each ordered a steak accompanied by sides and wow! I got the filet mignon and my boyfriend got the New York strip both medium rare. For our sides, I got the salad and mashed potatoes and he got the Mac n cheese. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had and the Mac n cheese was rich and creamy. The salad even had a great Italian vinaigrette it was tossed in. Lastly, dessert was the icing on the cake literally and figuratively lol! We got the flourless chocolate cake and it was one of the best restaurant desserts I've had. In all seriousness, I am a very picky person when it comes to making a quality dessert and you could tell this has top tier ingredients. Overall, we will definitely be back and might even possibly make this our new anniversary spot since Timpanos in Hyde park really let us down last year. Thank you! read more

Had a fantastic birthday dinner for my wife. Impeccable service and they made her feel special. Comped dessert and the blueberry cheesecake was delicious. Steaks perfectly cooked and seasoned. Another excellent experience. Booked for Christmas Eve on Open Table... Dan was an excellent server, as was his associate whose name I forgot. An extensive wine list, we were very satisfied with our choice ( a Pinot noir / Jen Wright Cellars). All food was delicious, from the French onion soup, to the rib eye which was melt in your mouth tender and flavorful, to the Chilean Sea Bass to the outstanding and my favorite thud meal, Seated Diver Scallops ( with a phenomenal beurre blanc and pomegranate reduction)...OMG! Crème brûlée was delicious as well. Great atmosphere. Need to dine here more often. read more

Now I'm down to a two. I have never in all my dining experiences watched a restaurant prioritize one patron over an entire section. I spent my dinner listening to a man use vulgar language loudly without regard to others in the area. The wait staff heard him, one table requested to be moved, and even after we reported him, they allowed him to continue. A manager finally came over and asked which guy was it and said I'm going to stick around and see if I hear anything. I had seen him in the area before and again the entire wait staff could hear this guy, not to mention their waiter who continued to serve him drinks. What I know is that since I do not matter to this restaurant as a patron, I won't return. Go where you are valued and appreciated. Far too may steakhouses in the Tampa area. read more

We went for Father's Day Brunch buffet and were disappointed with the food. Service and ambience were great, but the seafood was fair at best. The shucked oysters were not fully shucked; the adductor muscle was still attached to the half shell and there was little to no oyster liquor left. I'm thinking that these were bought pre-shucked and the adductor was not severed to keep the meat in the shell. The boiled shrimp had no seasoning and were almost tasteless. The snow crab shells were soft and bent rather than cracked, making the meat difficult to extract from the claw & legs. Perhaps they were left to soak in hot water for too long. Finally, no lemon wedges were provided for the seafood. I hope their cooked to order meals are better than the buffet, but we won't be going back to find out. read more

This place looks like a cool "old school" steakhouse and that's one of the reasons why I love it . We tried the billionaire bacon and my dad loved it . I like the fact they have a few mocktails and I tried the no-spresso martini. Should be called espresso no-tini lol bc there definitely is espresso, it's so good. The steak was delicious and my mom loved her lamb chops. She's is usually picky and she never had to send it back to be cooked more, so that is a good sign! Let me say the food, service, and ambience were all fabulous. My Son from Philly was with me and he dines in Manhattan's fine steakhouses like Rugers, etc. But I was hungry for Prime Rib or a great steak. My Son was very skeptical but quickly changed his mind. I got Prime Rib which was just phenomenal. My Son had their Japanese A5 Wagu steak and said he just loved it. Our sides of Creamed Spinach, Shrimp Cocktail, French Onion Soup, Lobster Bisque were all terrific, and we had Key Lime Pie for dessert which we didn't need LOL! Our Lady server was a sweet heart. My coworkers and I stopped in for lunch and overall had a decent experience. The millionaire bacon was thick, crispy, sweet and savory; one of my favorites! I thought it was a little strange that they charge extra for bread. At a steakhouse, that seems a little petty. For lunch, I ordered the beef tips, which had great flavor, but they were a bit overcooked. Service was really slow, especially for a lunch crowd. It was packed, so I get that they were busy, but the wait between courses was long. Overall, the food was decent and the vibe is nice but I'm not sure I would go back. read more

Outstanding service, food and atmosphere. The dining area is laid back and relaxing. Our server, Jake made great recommendations both about the food and which local beaches to go to. A little late in reviewing.... Went Feb 24, 2026 for a family Birthday party. Not our first time here and hopefully not our last. Started with the Shrimp cocktail ice cold, crisp & fresh. Our main meals .. prime rib ( king) exceptionally tasty, seasoned well and soo tender ... "A plus" on that one . A double cut pork chop & onion straws again excellent, tender and juicy.. perfect. Another delicious meal was the Filet Mignon again very tender, tasty and awesome. Two of us shared the tomahawk ribeye, was ok not awesome requested rare got medium rare , flavor adequate also not as tender as it should have been. Needless to say a bit disappointed. Sides grilled asparagus very good, broccolini with smoked Gouda again very good, no issues. Our third side dish Smoked Gouda Mac and cheese was just ok, little salty, Smokey and just didn't taste good to our liking. On another note the white sangria was awesome and the smoked old fashioned exceptional. Service was remarkably, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable ( name?.. too many sangrias maybe) overall had a good experience. Only issues we had. .....1st. Noise level in the small space, we all had a hard time connecting / socializing. 2nd the tables are much too close to each other. Other than that it was a good meal but not awesome. Anyway it is locally owned and operated... that's a big plus. read more

Our server was very good. The place is beautiful inside however I expected the food to be a lot better with the cost we paid. I asked for my steak to be well done which I know a lot of people can either cook a fantastic fillet well done and others just can't do it. They burnt it to a crisp. The middle was tasty. The rest of it was not. They advertise garlic, mashed potatoes however, my potatoes came out cold, and there were lots of chunks in it. I wouldn't consider it mashed. My dinner partner had twin lobster tables, and he said it was quite tough and again expected it to taste a lot better for the price we paid. The server gave us a piece of free cheesecake due to my steak being severely overcooked. The restaurant is beautiful. I read all the reviews and I thought this would be a fantastic place for dinner. I was highly disappointed. I will return but next time I'll get Chicken and I'll re-review. read more
