This spot feels like the love child of Dunkin' Donuts and KFC - and honestly, it worked better than I'd expect. Combining fried chicken and fresh donuts under one roof is an indulgent, no-rules concept that's perfect if you're craving comfort food without overthinking it. Fair warning: this place is not for the calorie counters. The staff were generally pleasant and attentive. Even as a first timer, the cashier took the time to walk me through the menu and highlight my options, which made the experience more personal than your typical fast-casual spot. I went with the spicy fried chicken and it delivered. Crispy, juicy and full of flavor in that satisfying fast-food way. A bit milder in spice than I'd typically prefer but tasty enough that I'd order again. Pricing felt very fair to what you get. I took the chance to also try their donuts. I tried 3 options: chocolate covered, original and an apple crisp. Could only eat pieces of each as I was full but they were soft, sweet and enjoyable, though not as fresh as what you'd get from a dedicated Dunkin. Still solid for a hybrid setup. Overall a refreshing low key meal. It was nice to hit a casual spot that's not pretentious in its offerings and does exactly what it sets out to do: serve tasty fried chicken and donuts without the fuss. The spot for when those cravings hit!!
Been coming to Duffin's Donut since they were originally on Main St and 33rd. Luckily they moved to Knight and 41st which is still close enough. I came for the donuts, Vietnamese subs/tortas and the fried chicken. They do catering, we have been ordering their fried chicken with rice + donuts for our group of 100 people. We pick up as they don't deliver. Their fried chicken is Fritou and they originate from Quebec in the late 90's. Duffin's is the only place that served Fritou fried chicken and they are really good. I always order the 3 pieces (1 wing, 1 drum & 1 thigh with fries or rice) for $9.39. You can ask for a mix of spicy or original but think the spicy is better and not too hot. I usually can't finish and take the rest home. Open 24 hours and considered the best deal in town for the portion of food you get. The decor is not fancy more like a hole-in-the-wall but that is what I love about it! They are here to impress you with the food and not the decor. The colourful orange and green bench seatings were originally from their shop on Main and 33rd so I love seeing them as it's reminded me of their good old days when you see motorcycles mixed with Mercedes cars in their parking lot.
I've been coming here on and off since they first moved here from the main street location. I would normally give a higher rating but today they were being extra with no f's given frfr. I stop here on the way to work to grab a sandwich and a donut or two prices are exceptionally . The selection is way better than Tim Hortons by a mile. The sign on the door says open at 6 we'll they weren't opened at 5 after, now things happen on occasion I get it but the fact that there was a bunch of staff in there puttering around was a bit off putting. The nonchalant attitude of no f's given was also a bit of a turn off. Update. Nov/25 stopped in for a quick snack stop, just before the afternoon rush apparently. The service is circling the metaphorical toilet. The tables were absolutely disgusting I had to ask for a towel and cleaning products to wipe down a table so I could enjoy my lunch. The floors have chunks of food and sticky, the donut selection is limited. And man the fried chicken is so salty I felt my blood pressure rise immediately. It's sad seeing a once favourite staple slide so far
Been many years since I was last in Duffins Donuts despite pretty much driving by it most days. It is located on the corner of 41st Ave and Knight Street. Very busy intersection and they have free parking which is a huge plus. The interior is very dated and happy they have booths as a seating option. I had tried their fried chicken previously and it was quite good. This time it was donut and tea time. I liked their selection of donuts and I opted for the maple glazed chocolate donut with nuts. It has been a while since I had any donut, and I liked the taste and presentation of the donut. I was a positive food experience and I may return to sample their other foods.
We love Duffin donuts! They make amazing torta sandwiches and fried chicken. My go to is the Machaca sandwich and my daughter always gets the teriyaki chicken. Their donuts are super popular and my kiddo loves the powder raspberry. They also have a full selection of Jaritos soda and our favorite is Cola Champagne! It tastes like a cream soda but better. Prices are awesome and staff are friendly.
Best value in Vancouver. 2 sandwiches, 2 coffees, less then 20$! If you want a delicious budget breakfast lunch supper or 2 am snack this is your place. Do not judge the looks, this place is legendary. Donuts, coffee, bubble tea, all day sandwiches and fried chicken and even chinese food. All super affordable and amazing service.
Like many others have mentioned, Duffin's Donuts is the OG in the neighborhood. The name says donuts, but they have many other items such as fried chicken, Mexican tortas, Vietnamese subs and tamales. You can find the tamales in the fridge. The sandwiches are made to order on the grill and probably not favorite item. The tamales are my second favorite to take home and eat whenever you feel like. They have both beef and chicken. Funny enough the donuts are only a bit above average to me, but I still appreciate the different flavors. The place is a little dirty so it could use a good deep clean. It's 24 hours on the weekend but opened till midnight on the weekdays.
I always feel like "ah I want to eat fried chicken but don't need fries. It's just rip off side dish and I wish I could order without fries." This Duffin gave me the opportunity and I'm so glad to find it. I ordered four spicy fried chicken and all came from different parts of chicken. I think that's a great idea, and the price is very affordable, $11ish Spicy fried chicken is not that hot. Maybe salty spice rather than heat. So tasty.
Duffins Donuts is an East Van classic that has everything you can imagine. From donuts, viet subs, fried chicken, fries as well as a variety of drinks! We got the old fashion, apple fritter and double chocolate donuts. If you want to try something other than donuts I highly recommend any of their tortas or fried chicken! Just make sure to bring cash or a debit card because I am pretty sure they do not take credit! This place also used to be 24/7 but I think it now closes around midnight.
Certified classic! This place has been here for decades and it's still pumping out all kinds of food at affordable prices and high quality! Everyone loves the donuts and the chicken of course -- donuts are probably the best of the no-frills type for the price in the city, and the chicken reminds me of the guilty pleasure gas station chicken, but of a quality that is a tier or two better (always get spicy!). My personal favorite however has to be the hot dogs. They have hiked a bit in price but they're huge, deliciously hot (toasted bun!), and come with all the classic toppings if you ask for it. The sandwiches are great too, I just don't think they're as "worth it" as the hot dog. The old diner-style interior could be a turn off for some people, but it is clean and the service is ALWAYS top notch, no matter the hour.
I actually ate my donut before taking a picture of it so sorry guys! Apple fritters here are my fave though! So delicious! This is my first time being back here since the whole covid situation and the hours being all different. But damn the fried chicken is just as delicious as i've always remembered. I tried the wing for the first time since i went with a 4 piece! Spicy is actually not even that spicy. So don't shy away for all you people who get intimidated by spice. I additionally tried their pork veggie spring roll for the first time ... i'm not sure if it's because of the time i went but the roll wasn't that crunchy. Texture wise i'd give it a 3/5 .. taste was probably a 2.5 .. I probably wouldn't get the spring roll again. Ambiance was lively and bumpin because it was a weekend and it's always busy from what i remembered. This place i forgot to mention only takes debit and cash. Also the parking lot is quite hectic so if you're not someone who is good with parking lots, maybe park down the street or something. Service is This place has good subs sandwiches too which i didn't get a picture of as i didn't order it this time. There is a seating area if you feel like eating there. Definitely a budget friendly date place .. they do take orders over the phone too if you prefer that method.
The most iconic spot in Vancouver. If you haven't heard or been here, you are living under a rock. I appreciate the owner in letting me bring my setup: The vibes that day were great. Had to bring my PlayStation 5 and cook some kids in NBA 2k26. Can't sleep on the food I got. Fried chicken with love, taro slush (50% sugar on a diet ) and the donuts everything just put me to bed afterwards
Always drove by but never made it in until yesterday when we had a donut craving & were in the neighbourhood. They have a wide variety of donut flavours & they're cheap (under $2 each) but understandably quite small. Taste-wise, I'd say they're slightly above average. I liked the twisty old fashioned one & the ube one. They're sweet, but not crazy sweet, which is good for me. Lines can get long but they're pretty fast-moving. The place is open 24hrs on weekends & till midnight on weekdays, so it's convenient to satisfy a late-night sugar craving!

This review is mainly for their DONUTS! The name says it!! Duffin's DONUTS!! Yes, their donuts are incredible! Cuz they are busy almost all the time and their donuts are so fresh that they can keep up with the demand! Light and fluffy, these are dangerous as you can eat the whole dozen and don't even know!! So I would give them a 5 star just for the donuts! As for the rest: Fried Chicken ( 3 stars ), too dry and the crust is too thick for my liking, its my personal preference, I am sure the ones who gave them 5 stars for their chicken has their own preferences. Vietnamese Sub ( 3 stars ), the bread was not toasted enough to get a crispy crust, but the fillings were adequate, not outstanding but was ok. So my verdict: come for the donuts and you will for sure not be disappointed! read more
I've had their donuts a few times but only recently did I actually visit the restaurant. In my ranking, their donuts are far above Tim's or most grocery store donuts, but comparable to Lucky's and not quite as good as Lee's. For me, a little bit of that classic deep-fried taste in a donut is great, and these are just a little too much. But I REALLY liked the thick maple frosting on the maple glaze donut I had on this visit, and it was still warm which was really nice! I arrived just before noon. As for the other food, I had a Scrambled Egg Torta and a Thai Bubble Tea. I was really surprised that they have bubble tea, but I guess people mean it when they say that they've got everything. I tried to order the Durian, but they were out, so Thai was my second choice. I would assume it's just from a mix of some sort (the consistency is uniform rather than layers or swirls of condensed milk and tea), but it was still not bad at all. If they do use a powder for flavour, I couldn't tell - it wasn't at all powdery. The pearls were okay, some were a little harder in the middle than I like but I do personally like them very soft, so I'd still say these were passable, especially at this price and considering they're not even a specialized bubble tea shop. The torta was really good. Makes me nostalgic for food you'd get at old-school American sub shops. The cheese scrambled into the egg was very nice. A little on the greasy side like you'd expect, but not too much. I liked the inclusion of banana peppers. All around, I don't know of anywhere that can compete with this place in terms of price vs what you get. It's good comfort food at very good value. The person who helped me and the others I was with was very friendly, but the service as a whole seems like a mixed bag. I didn't see any staff that was outright unpleasant, but some people definitely do not care. The whole restaurant could use more attention to hygiene. It wasn't quite as grimy as I was expecting from some of these reviews, but there were a lot of flies in the eating area, which is probably because, from the looks of it, they rarely clean, and there were lots of crumbs on tabletops and the floor. I couldn't see the kitchen as well, but it seemed like it was in a similar state. I avoided the bathroom all together. read more

Back at my old stomping ground when BC living was my thing. Love this place as it reminded me of home back in socal. The blueberry filled and chocolate peanut donuts are my go to faves. Duffins is right up there with some of the heavyweights including: DKs in Santa Monica - all time king Donuttery in Huntington Beach Dunkin' Donuts.. for their apple fritters Sorry Timmy H.. you ain't got nothing on Duffins read more

A friend wanted to visit this place ,even after I said it was ok for a donut but avoid sandwich choices. He wanted to try so he got a meatball sub. The counter person insisted it was not spicy...it was just a lie. He got a chicken sub it was also spicy and horrible. About 5 cents of dry hard chicken... it was a insult. To anyone paying for the garbage they served. How this place stays open is beyond belief...lots of people with no taste i guess. read more
One-line review: Cheap eats done reasonably well. We've been meaning to get to Duffin's for quite some time, and it was worth the wait. We ordered: Machaca torta (mildly-flavoured, needed hot sauce; the meat portions were modest -- don't be fooled by 7-year old photos on Yelp!) 3-piece spicy chicken and fries (Crispy, tasty, well-executed) Pupusa (bean, cheese, pork) with Cole slaw, salsa (a bit mild for our taste; cole slaw [mayonnaise rather than vinegar] and salsa [a bit like warmed canned tomatoes] were wrong) Donuts: a banana-filled (very fresh, mildly-flavoured), a honey dew, an apple fritter The place isn't much to look at inside -- it's a donut shop -- though they did have a football match on the tv. And yet... when you can get donuts, fried chicken and fries, and pupusas in one location at very reasonable prices, I'm willing to be a little more generous on the grading. Free parking in their lot, which is not easy to get in or out of. Bottom line: I suspect we'll be back sooner rather than later. Too many other things to try! read more

There are several good things about this place. There are some things that could improve. I would give it 3.5 stars. First, I was hoping for crispier chicken. Unfortunately, I was served pieces from the warming encasement, so they weren't that crispy/fresh. The donut I ordered also tasted like it was a bit too firm. Having tried crispy chicken at Juke's, Church's and Downlow, it's hard for me to say that Duffin's chicken compares. If it were fresher, it'd be better. However, the prices are quite good. Also, they have a good selection of food. They have beef and chicken tamales, soup, sandwiches, etc in addition to the chicken and donuts. I'd like to try the tamales and more donuts to make a better judgment on the food. Overall, it seems like a good place for convenience, a variety of food that's accessible 24hrs a day. read more

Came here today to order some food for my family and I. I ordered carne asada torta , chicken terriyaki torta and cheeseburger combo with no onions and pickle. Terriyaki Chicken Torta First bite into chicken teriyaki torta, I had a mouthful of onions...there is also no teriyaki chicken taste. Its just a skinless chicken thigh sandwich with avo, lettuce, tomato, hot peppers and onions. Carne Asada Torta The girl who took my order told me this is a popular order. Again, not sure why. It's just pan fried beef in a sub. Has avo, tomato and lettuce like the rest of the torta there. Bacon Cheeseburger They forgot my drink.... I had to call and tell them they forgot my drink... my bacon cheeseburgers bun was also burnt and the patty was dry. Fries and gravy are good. Overall, I don't understand why this place has 4 stars. I much rather go to subway or quiznos as the food there is consistent. This place isn't even busy due to covid and yet so many mistakes, why? There were so many staff and still so many errors. read more

Got a half a dozen ($6.50). Got the sour cream glazed: great cake donut. Good amount of glaze. Maple ring: light and fluffy donut. Maple on top doesn't have an artificial flavour. Long john: pretty much the same review as above. Buttermilk raspberry: I'm not one to usually have fruit in my donut, but good flavour and good amount. Cinnamon: like the amount of cinnamon and that it added a bit of a crunch. My friend ate the last one. read more

It's 330 am and I am starving. Food choices are limited, and I am not into fast food. My friend suggested Duffin's. Open 24/7. So happy he did! It was nearly empty and we had no wait. The lady who served us was extremely nice and patient with us I couldn't see with out my glasses and my friend was just indecisive. I remembered the Torta sub I had before. I couldn't remember what it was called, but when I described it to the lady she knew exactly what I was taking about. I am super ultra picky and I hate most things that are usually on subs or sandwiches. I asked what came on it, and When I told her what I didn't want on it, she was totally nice about it. I also ordered a bubble tea slush. It was a fresh fruit one, half strawberry & half watermelon. With half pearls and half jelly. My friend ordered a different Torta, and a Lychee slush. He also selected 3 donuts to take home for later. We had a short wait, so we sat down. The drinks came up first, and WOW how delightful was it to taste the fresh fruit ( not a powder ) . The tortas were finally ready and we didn't even make it a block away before we had to try them. OMG!! The bread was the perfect amount of crisp and soft, slightly toasted. The meat was cooked to perfection. Avocados were ripe and tasty. There was no onion, no tomatoes, no mayo and only a slight bit of banana peppers to give it some added flavour - it was PERFECT !!! We couldn't stop talking about how great this meal was!! It was fresh, delicious and left us satisfied. And the price for everything was 25$ with a well deserved tip. read more

Doughnuts and pupusas and sammiches, oh my! Yes, you can get all of these and more at this little random feed-your-face-hole-joint. Their menu is so random, if you don't know what you're in the mood for when you come here, you'll end up getting more confused. You can get Chinese food, a vast variety of sandwiches, fried chicken burgers, ice cream, smoothies, and yes, pupusas. We came here at midnight on a Sunday and this is what we swallowed: PUPUSAS: I ordered the bean, cheese, and pork one. I asked for it without the beans and she mentioned they were already pre-made so I couldn't (you mean you have no El Salvadorean elves in the back slapping these together?). I was surprised the pupusa was pretty decent, although the curtido could use a bit more kick. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/R5G-LpFh2mLUCAOxbvP0eQ?select=yrCUpj7YKeqSF5N6T6TA6A#kV6-yvMWWaOztnm4WAWLUg APPLE FRITTER: Let's just start off by saying they do doughnuts right. As we waited for my pupusa to cook, there was a steady stream (even midnight on a Sunday) of people coming in and getting doughnuts. I could see why. This apple fritter was not overly greasy. The batter was light and fluffy and had the perfect ratio of little apple bits and cinnamon swirls. Damn good apple fritter! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/R5G-LpFh2mLUCAOxbvP0eQ?select=yrCUpj7YKeqSF5N6T6TA6A#NYCa-aYulLGBFeRoh7ai_g CINNAMON FRITTER: We picked up some for the morning. These were more puffier then the apple fritter but what ends up happening is that it becomes all dough and less cinnamon swirls. Still good and moist but the apple fritter was definitely the better of the two. Glad we stopped off here. You'll definitely find something here to satisfy whatever it is your craving, and when in doubt, go doughnuts! read more

Fried chicken under a heat lamp. Going against the grain here. While it was quite flavourful, it sat under a heat lamp. This is pretty good tasting chicken but two things about it ruined my expectations. One, it was not fresh and hot. Two, I had the spicy version - it reminded me too much of KFC. I was expecting something more unique tasting. I wanted something other than a KFC imitation. Reason for the two stars. http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/duffins-donuts-vancouver?select=yrCUpj7YKeqSF5N6T6TA6A#jAaEnSRXJO85V7-6ayNuug Interesting set up. They have mexican type sanwiches, donuts, fried chicken, burgers, etc, and Chinese food in hot water warmers. Eclectic food. This place, to me, is like a diner, but in a fast food set up. It was a bit filthy when I got here. Food all over the floor in one corner. Gonna have to try some of the sandwiches some day. read more
I had nothing to do on Canada Day morning and decided why not go to Duffin's to see if they're open. Thank god it's OPEN! This time I tried chicken sub combo (around $8) with my sister. After ordering we got a number while waiting in line. Service was fast. Sandwich was good, but not amazing. Chicken sub itself is $4.49 which is little more than TK sub and the sandwich bun was dry. I was hoping it's crispy sub instead of dry sub. Fries were so delicious and fresh. It was same like the ones I had last time. They're just as good as ones from Costco. If you want something more cheaper they sell hamburgers for $3.75 each. Coffee tasted okay, too bitter even with sugar and milk in it. I didn't finish it in the end. read more

Does anything say old school donuts in Vancouver more than Duffin's Donuts? Sure, you can find lot of cool designer donuts nowadays and they're all pretty good. But when you've got a craving for some doughy goodness in the middle of the night, where else are you going to look other than Duffin's considering that they're open 24/7? You don't have to wait until the middle of the night to come here though... we didn't. We picked up a couple of French crullers, a long john, old fashioned, blueberry, and chocolate angel. The only other thing that could make Duffin's better is if they also served up some hot, savory foods too... oh wait! They also sell fried chicken here! You could seriously just live here and eat fried chicken and donuts 24/7! read more
After watching an episode of Masterchef, I had an unrelenting craving for donuts near midnight. The only place open and nearby at that hour was Duffin's, which I have often driven by but have never gone in. I have been admitedly confused with their sign saying they serve Chinese food, noodles, tortas, donuts, and boba. So random, but man is it always busy in there, and now I can see why. I didn't try anything else but donuts this time around and even close to midnight, they had a huge case full of them. I chose three and they were fresh and really good... even the next day. Pleasantly surprised and for $1.19 vs some other high end donut establishments that charge $3.50 or more per donut, I think this place is solid, good and I would definitely be a repeat customer. Now I am curious about the fried chicken! read more
I woke up from a nap around 1am, feeling a bit peckish. look to yelp for help finding something other than McDonald's that's still open in my area. So setting the app to "open now" made me discover some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I first saw a batch sitting under the heat lamp and was hesitating but soon enough more chicken was added that was perfectly fried and not oily. $7.25 gets you a wing, thigh, breast and drumstick. there is no need for sides or sauces here. The wing and thigh were the best at absorbing the flavor with the right amount of batter. There's nothing exceptional in the recipe. It's simply good because they fry it well and serve it fresh and hot. I also had one of their thin steak torta sandwich which was fresh and cheap. $4.76 I took a couple of donuts for the next morning and they were still fresh and moist the day after. The ambiance at night is remarkably subdued for a 2am crowd. People are here to have good food I guess, not nurse a hangover. They have bubble tea, cold cut sandwiches and salads ready made as well. it is not just donuts read more
24-hour Donut place frequented by police. They serve Mexican food, Chinese food, Vietnamese food, Western food, Donuts and bubble teas. Their Donuts have been a Vancouver institution, having been around since they used to be on Main and 33rd many decades ago. But, 30 years ago, you'd be able to get a dozen for $3. Now, the price is much higher. Interestingly, regardless if you order a chicken burrito, chicken Vietnamese sub, or one of their chicken "Torta subs", they use the EXACT SAME chicken filling. Their Donuts, despite being their claim to fame, now fall short of the benchmarks in Vancouver such as Cartem's and Lucky's. A bit too dry, a bit too doughy and not exactly inexpensive make them a tough sell. In fact, I'd rather have Donuts from Safeway as theirs are better in every regard. Their Fried Chicken is good, especially their spicy variant. Sort of like a poor man's Kentucky Fried Chicken. And, the aforementioned Torta subs are great; featuring your choice of meat, avocados, onions, lettuce and tomatoes. I haven't found another place serving this type of sandwich. All in all, I come here because of its proximity to my house. But, given a choice, this would be near the bottom unless I was craving a Torta sub. read more

Possibly my favourite place to pick up donuts and a quick bite to eat They have so many subs and they are only 4.95! There isn't a lot of meat in some of them so you can ask for extra! I got the machata which is slow cooked ground beef, avocado, banana peppers, lettuce and tomato! It was full of so much flavour. I was beyond impressed. They also have fried chicken which I haven't tried yet The donuts are amazing!!!! The honey dip and coconut are my favourite! They also have sprinkled donuts that remind me of the Simpson's! The donuts are super cheap as well and so much better than the average donut shop It's also open 24 hours! So if you want some carbs late at night I would definitely stop by here! read more

This is the perfect place to go after party in downtown. They serve sandwiches, fried chicken and bubble tea and they're open 24 hours. The place is nice. Donuts are fresh and very soft. Fried chicken is great but I find the breading a little bit salty. read more
Ok, so my co-worker has been raving about the fried chicken here. I was skeptical because...well, aren't they a donut joint? I came to try the chicken anyway. Well, it turns out this place got a lot more than just donuts & chicken. They've also got sandwiches, burgers, tamales, bubble tea, etc. I stuck with my original reason for coming and got 4 pieces of the spicy chicken for about $8. I liked the batter and seasoning, but I was very disappointed that the chicken was not freshly fried. It was just sitting under a heat lamp. Good chicken, but nothing to write home about. Plus the dining area is filthy. I was afraid to touch anything or use the re-useable cups that were sitting out for self-serve water...I saw a customer drop a cup & put it back. They have their own parking lot, but it was packed. Getting in and out of there is not fun. read more
