The rest of the food was good however, the corned beef was very peppery and the waitress knew that I didn't like spicy stuff so a heads up on that would've been nice. The least that they could've done is written something on their menu or crossed it off the chalkboard in the restaurant. That way I would've known ahead of time before we ordered. The tone felt rude and unnecessary, especially considering we had only been dining for about 30-45 minutes. While we understand Valentine's Day is busy, guests should not feel rushed out, particularly when they made reservations well in advance. The interaction left a very negative impression and took away from what was supposed to be a special evening. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant for special occasions. I was a little unsure given the lack of photos and reviews but as soon as you walk through the front door, you know you came to the right place. The staff & owner are all so friendly - both with great recommendations and timely service. The food was executed flawlessly - GET THE EGGS BENNY (crispy polenta & bacon). EVERYTHING, and they do mean everything is made in-house as they seek to share a 'farm to table' experience. They take special pride in the dry-aged bacon which I can confirm is top tier. The special touch was their attentiveness with always ensuring your coffee cup stays warm and truly bottomless. The cafe is very thankfully cozy and welcoming - a welcomed relief from the usual trendy cafe experience of backless, metal stools. We don't get to see family often and while we talked, there was never a push to leave faster and they even went so far as to provide more coffee and water --it's the simple things.
