This new candy place is on the boardwalk next to Britt's Donuts. They have a variety of candy as…read morewell as bottled beverages, clothing, shells, knick knacks. Candy ranges from jelly beans to chocolate-covered you name it, sour candies, and taffy. There were some candies that are old school like bazooka. I didn't see any out of this world unique kind of candies. If you want any of the candies in the glass cases, you asked the staff for a scooper and you start filling up your bag with whatever candies you want. Regardless of the candy, it's a base price of $12.99/lb, which is a bit pricey. Understandably it is the boardwalk. I was disappointed that some of the sour candies were either low or out of stock. (I arrived around 9:30 p.m. on a Tuesday) I got some sour belts-the strawberry and apple mix and sour blue raspberry belts were both good. The mango sour belts were decent-they had a strong mango flavor. I didn't really like the watermelon sour belts. They didn't have the sweet watermelon taste I was hoping for. They are only open during season and will be closed during off-season, which starts around Labor Day.

He's checked back every day since and each employee has given him a different answer but still no prize! The owner's son now says there is nothing they can do. Any business that is willing to take advantage of a kid that way is not worth your time and money!

I have been coming to this candy store for years and have always been a loyal customer, but my…read moreexperience today was incredibly disappointing. I spent over $25 in the store, yet I was treated as if I was doing something wrong the entire time. I picked up a piece of candy using the provided tongs because the sign specifically said not to use your hands. Despite following the rules, two employees began yelling at me as if I had done something wrong. The situation got even worse when I was looking at one of the squishies. One of them was already out of its packaging before I ever touched it. An employee immediately started yelling at me and accusing me of taking it out, even after I repeatedly explained that it was already like that when I found it. Instead of listening, they continued raising their voices and treating me like I was lying. To make matters worse, the employees were also speaking about me in a different language while I was standing there. Although I could not understand everything they were saying, it was clear from their tone, gestures, and the timing of their comments that they were talking about me. This made the situation feel even more disrespectful and uncomfortable. As a customer who has supported this store for years, I found this treatment disrespectful, embarrassing, and completely unacceptable. Being publicly yelled at over things I did not do was frustrating and upsetting. Customer service should involve listening to customers before making accusations. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will seriously reconsider whether I want to return. I am incredibly angry

Oh dear, oh dear; what have I done? The other day I was perusing various offerings in the area and…read morecame upon the Carolina Candy Company. The short description piqued my interest (I mean, come on already...chocolate and toffee? What's not to love?. As an unpaid servant to the gastronomic public, I forced myself to locate this place. It is in a small collection of shops off of Kerr Avenue, but finding it can be a bit difficult (especially for some of our local speed demons!). Google maps will get you there, however, and it is on your right as you enter the parking area between the two sets of stores. The photo I took shows what to look for and do look for it. Did I mention that they do samples? I meant to go in and speak with the owners, and maybe that was it. Of course, those who know me are laughing right now because y'all know my predilection for sweets. Purely in the interest of encouraging this business (veteran-owned), I did purchase a small bag of their dark chocolate toffee. Oh, the things I do for science and the community. Carolina Candy Company has other offerings other than candy from other Veteran-owned businesses, including hand-poured candles and soaps. Very interesting, but let's get back to the toffee! Rich, luscious, and all-too-soon gone flavor. The variety of toffee and barks will tempt the most diet-conscious person. The selections include a dark-chocolate toffee, dark-chocolate southern pecan toffee, and milk chocolate almond toffee. The barks (peppermint) I somehow did not sample. Please forgive this oversight, which I plan on correcting soon. All are decadent and probably the ruin of many a New Year's promises to avoid sweets. I went with the dark-chocolate toffee (this time) with a commitment to return (soon!) to savor the others as well. I'm all about equal treatment, you understand. Overall I would grade the service as 5/5 and the same for their toffees (I somehow managed to miss sampling the barks. I guess that means I have to return to make sure nothing is overlooked). You can order through their website (https://carolinacandy.com/shop/), but do go by and check them out.
