Vanilla w/ chocolate swirl on the edges! Awesome!!

That's right, I'm giving Kraft Kones a 5 Star rating!! In the land of homemade ice cream, and I'm speaking of being at the beach, everyone seems to be justifying their creation! Krazy Kones takes you back to the boardwalk days of soft serve in a cone! Their twist, literally, is swirling some extra flavor around the outside edges! Whether chocolate, raspberry, butter pecan, strawberry, or any number of other flavors! It's gives the already fantastic vanilla an added rich twist!

    Crazy cones!!

This ice cream place is located right at the heart of the boardwalk across from all the rides and other attractions. The theme of fun and excitement carries as you enter through the door and are met with bright and vibrant displays of "Jelly Belly's", Salt water Taffy and other fun treats! The staff is extremely friendly and super efficient, we hardly waited considering how packed it was. The prices were upfront and reasonable. The kids LOVED the flavors and the fun colors!! There is also a variety of kettle corn available if ice cream is not your thing.

Krazy Kones is located right off the main boardwalk of Carolina Beach and is a wonderful establishment for soft serve cones all tricked out with all sorts of wild flavor options if you so choose. Beach bumming is serious work, so to treat and reward yourself after a long hard day's work, why not top it off with a savory, sugary ice cream cone as you meander the historical boardwalk? Summer time offers the amusement park for kids and young folks conveniently located nearby. Also just around the corner are some historical props for photo opportunities that you should definitely take advantage of.

The staff was friendly & so patient waiting for my 6 year old to make a decision on what she wanted. My girls loved the ice cream & we'll definitely be back.

Great tasing cones. Loved the butter pecan flavored swirl. This place has actual display sizes so you don't feel shorted. Not too far from the sand so you end up with just a puddle by the time you reach the beach.

Cute and kitschy old fashioned yogurt place. Smells delicious as you walk in and makes you want to taste everything!

We loved Krazy Kones! We all got the chocolate dipped soft serve. So messy, but so yummy!! Definitely a must go to while in the area.

Candy ranges from jelly beans to chocolate-covered you name it, sour candies, and taffy. There were some candies that are old school like bazooka. I didn't see any out of this world unique kind of candies. If you want any of the candies in the glass cases, you asked the staff for a scooper and you start filling up your bag with whatever candies you want. Regardless of the candy, it's a base price of $12.99/lb, which is a bit pricey. Understandably it is the boardwalk. I was disappointed that some of the sour candies were either low or out of stock. (I arrived around 9:30 p.m. on a Tuesday) I got some sour belts-the strawberry and apple mix and sour blue raspberry belts were both good. The mango sour belts were decent-they had a strong mango flavor. I didn't really like the watermelon sour belts. They didn't have the sweet watermelon taste I was hoping for. They are only open during season and will be closed during off-season, which starts around Labor Day.

The short description piqued my interest (I mean, come on already...chocolate and toffee? What's not to love?. As an unpaid servant to the gastronomic public, I forced myself to locate this place. It is in a small collection of shops off of Kerr Avenue, but finding it can be a bit difficult (especially for some of our local speed demons!). Google maps will get you there, however, and it is on your right as you enter the parking area between the two sets of stores. The photo I took shows what to look for and do look for it. Did I mention that they do samples? I meant to go in and speak with the owners, and maybe that was it. Of course, those who know me are laughing right now because y'all know my predilection for sweets. Purely in the interest of encouraging this business (veteran-owned), I did purchase a small bag of their dark chocolate toffee. Oh, the things I do for science and the community. Carolina Candy Company has other offerings other than candy from other Veteran-owned businesses, including hand-poured candles and soaps. Very interesting, but let's get back to the toffee! Rich, luscious, and all-too-soon gone flavor. The variety of toffee and barks will tempt the most diet-conscious person. The selections include a dark-chocolate toffee, dark-chocolate southern pecan toffee, and milk chocolate almond toffee. The barks (peppermint) I somehow did not sample. Please forgive this oversight, which I plan on correcting soon. All are decadent and probably the ruin of many a New Year's promises to avoid sweets. I went with the dark-chocolate toffee (this time) with a commitment to return (soon!) to savor the others as well. I'm all about equal treatment, you understand. Overall I would grade the service as 5/5 and the same for their toffees (I somehow managed to miss sampling the barks. I guess that means I have to return to make sure nothing is overlooked). You can order through their website (https://carolinacandy.com/shop/), but do go by and check them out.
